Karan Johar’s digital production company, Dharmatic Entertainment, is on a roll. Their ever-expanding slate just welcomed another exciting addition – a romantic comedy slated for release in 2025. The film will be led by R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh. This latest offering, however, promises a fresh twist on love stories. The details suggest a heartwarming and unconventional tale about an age-gap romance.

As per a report in Peeping Moon, leading the charge for this untitled project is director Vivek Soni, who previously worked with the production house on Meenakshi Sundareshwar. The script is penned by Radhika Anand, and Jehan Handa. The cameras are set to roll later this month, with filming expected to begin by the end of October.

On the work front, Fatima Sana Shaikh has a busy schedule ahead, with Anurag Basu’s Metro…In Dino and Vibhu Puri’s Ul Jalool Ishq on the horizon. R Madhavan will next star in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar.

The Singham Again cast is set to join Delhi’s Dussehra celebrations on 12th October, at the grand and prestigious Lav Kush Ramlila for the traditional Ravan Dahan ceremony, where the effigy of Ravan is set ablaze with an arrow.

The recently released Singham Again trailer has captivated audiences across the nation, drawing parallels with the Ramayan and showcasing the triumph of good over evil. To celebrate this spirit amidst huge crowds and tremendous fanfare, Arjun Kumar, President of the Lav Kush Ramlila Committee, has invited the Singham Again cast to take part in the Ravan Dahan ceremony, adding to the excitement of the Vijayadashami celebrations. Director Vikas Bahl is venturing into a new territory with his next project. This upcoming film promises a stark contrast to his recent explorations into the supernatural and science fiction genres. It’s a light-hearted family entertainer, brimming with warmth and humour, perfect for a feel-good cinematic experience. The film will star Siddhant Chaturvedi, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jaya Bachchan.

As per the Peeping Moon report, Siddhant Chaturvedi takes on a lead role. He’ll be paired opposite Wamiqa Gabbi. Adding depth and experience to the family dynamic is the actress Jaya Bachchan. Her last on-screen appearance was in Karan Johar’s multi-starrer romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.  The film’s plot unfolds in the vibrant state of Goa, a popular tourist destination known for its scenic beaches and laid-back atmosphere. The story revolves around an old house that undergoes a charming transformation, becoming a lively public space.

While specific details about the shooting schedule are yet to be confirmed, it’s expected to commence later this year. This timeframe hinges on the availability of the lead actors who are currently juggling commitments to other projects. Chaturvedi is currently filming for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming musical romance Tum Hi Ho, and has Dharma Productions’ Dhadak 2 scheduled for release in February 2025.

Wamiqa Gabbi will next star in Varun Dhawan’s upcoming action-packed Baby John. She will also star in Raj & DK’s fantastical period Netflix series Rakht Brahmand. Additionally, she has a completed romantic comedy film with Rajkummar Rao for Maddock Films, currently in post-production and slated for an early 2025 release.

The Delhi High Court has taken a significant step to address the growing issue of ticket scalping for music concerts and other events. In response to a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Rohan Gupta, the court has sought the response of the Central government and popular ticketing platforms like Zomato, Stubhub, Viagog, and Ticombo. Ticket scalping, a practice where bots are used to purchase large quantities of tickets and resell them at exorbitant prices, has become increasingly prevalent in recent years. The PIL highlighted the widespread use of this tactic during the concerts of singers Karan Aujla and Diljit Dosanjh.

As per a report in Bar and Bench, the petitioner argued that ticket scalping is an illegal, manipulative, and exploitative practice that harms consumers. It undermines the principles of fair market and creates an unfair advantage for those who can afford to pay inflated prices. This practice can also lead to social divisions, as it makes events less accessible to those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

The court has directed the Central government and the ticketing platforms to respond to the PIL and has scheduled a hearing for February 18, 2025. In the meantime, the court has suggested that a committee be formed to study the issue of ticket scalping and develop guidelines to prevent black marketing of tickets.

During the hearing, the State’s counsel argued that the PIL falls under Section 112 (petty organized offense) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. However, the Chief Justice noted that the petitioner’s allegations of computer involvement and collusion between parties suggest a more complex issue.

The PIL emphasizes the need for a robust legal framework and effective enforcement measures to combat ticket scalping. It calls for fair ticketing practices that protect consumers and ensure equitable access to events. It said, “Such events are often meant to unite communities, foster cultural appreciation, and provide joy across social strata, but scalping turns them into exclusive experiences for those who can pay inflated prices. This further widens the gap between different socioeconomic groups, eroding the sense of fairness in access to entertainment.”

The petitioner’s advocates, Gaurav Dua, Jatin Yadav, Daksh Gupta, and Saurabh Dua, argued that ticket scalping is a predatory practice that harms genuine fans and allows unscrupulous resellers to exploit high demand. They emphasized the importance of addressing this issue to create a more equitable and transparent ticketing system.

As fans gear up to celebrate Amitabh Bachchan’s 82nd birthday, a major announcement has taken the entertainment world by storm. Producer Anand Pandit has revealed plans for a sequel to the 1978 classic Trishul, which starred the iconic actor. 

Anand Pandit’s Deep Connection to Trishul and Bachchan
In a statement published on Mid-Day, Anand Pandit shares a long-standing admiration for Amitabh Bachchan. Reflecting on his early days, Pandit recalls how Bachchan’s portrayal of Vijay in Trishul had a profound influence on him. “I have watched Trishul almost 60 times,” Pandit shares, “and it impacted me deeply when it was released. The story of a man who comes with nothing to a city and makes it big in the construction business inspired me immensely.”

Pandit credits the character for motivating him to move from Gujarat to Mumbai in pursuit of his dreams. His ambition to make Trishul 2 is a long-cherished goal that has been shaped by Bachchan’s on-screen presence. “This will be my tribute to the man who began to influence my life even before he met me in person.”

Directed by the late Yash Chopra, the original Trishul was a cinematic triumph, starring Amitabh Bachchan alongside a stellar cast that included Sanjeev Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Rakhee, and Hema Malini. The film tells the story of Vijay, an illegitimate son, seeking revenge on his father by dismantling his empire. Pandit’s vision for Trishul 2 will delve into the life of Vijay post-reconciliation with the Gupta family.

While the sequel is a professional endeavour, for Pandit, it also carries a deep personal meaning. “Trishul 2 will narrate how life unfolded for Vijay after being accepted in the Gupta family. It would be fascinating to find out if he lived happily ever after with Geeta [Rakhee’s character], if his own family grew, and whether he was able to heal his wounds.”
Fifth Collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan
If everything falls into place, Trishul 2 will mark Anand Pandit’s fifth collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan. They have previously worked together on films like Sarkar 3 (2017), Chehre (2021), Fakt Mahilao Maate (2022), and Fakt Purusho Maate. Pandit also supported The Big Bull (2021), which starred Abhishek Bachchan.
No Director Yet, But a Vision in Place
Pandit has not yet finalised a director for the project. As the project develops, the excitement continues to build, especially among fans of Amitabh Bachchan, who are eager to see the return of one of his most iconic characters.

The Mumbai entertainment industry has been rocked by yet another drug-related controversy, this time involving former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan. The actor’s name has surfaced in connection with a recent drug bust involving his staff member, Suraj Gaud.

Ajaz Khan’s Staff Member Arrested in MDMA Drug Case
Reportedly, Suraj Gaud, an employee of Ajaz Khan, was apprehended by the Narcotics Bureau for allegedly ordering narcotics from a European country. Customs officials intercepted a parcel containing 100 grams of MDMA, valued at approximately Rs 30 lakh. The package was addressed to Khan’s office in Mumbai, prompting authorities to search the premises.

A Special Intelligence and Investigation Branch officer stated, “We will investigate Ajaz’s involvement in the case and examine his phone records.” The actor was reportedly absent from his Andheri office during the search operation on Tuesday.
Legal Proceedings and Customs Officials’ Statement
Gaud has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday. A customs official provided insight into the operation, saying, “On the basis of specific intelligence, we had detained a suspicious parcel that arrived through air courier. Upon opening, we found it to contain MDMA weighing around 100 grams, which is a commercial quantity worth Rs 30 lakh. Further investigations are ongoing.”
Ajaz Khan’s Connection and Previous Legal Troubles
While a friend of Khan told The Times of India that the actor has no connection to the parcel, authorities are keen to question him. A customs official revealed that attempts to reach Khan have been unsuccessful as his phone has been switched off. They plan to summon him soon to record his statement and examine his call records to determine any potential involvement in the drug delivery.

This incident is not Khan’s first brush with the law. In March 2021, he was arrested for possession of 31 Alprazolam tablets weighing 4.5 grams, resulting in a two-year imprisonment.

Before the ultimate Diwali clash of Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the industry gears up for the Dussehra clash, between Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. In this article, Bollywood Hungama will share the censor details of these two films that will be released in cinemas on October 11.

Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, was passed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on October 3 with a U/A certification. The film seems to have some violent, disturbing scenes. But the CBFC hasn’t cut a single scene or shot. They also haven’t asked for any audio cuts or modifications. They only asked the makers to insert an anti-drug static in two scenes dealing with drug consumption.

Once that was done, the censor certificate was handed over to the makers of Jigra. The length of the film, as mentioned on the certificate, is 155 minutes. In other words, the run time is 2 hours and 35 minutes. The thriller is directed by Vasan Bala

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, meanwhile, is helmed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, and stars Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri and Mallka Sherawat. As the title suggests, the film deals with an intimate video. But just like Jigra, the CBFC didn’t enforce any visual cuts as they didn’t feel the need for it and realized its appropriate for family viewing, despite the theme.

However, the film had to suffer some audio cuts. The CBFC’s Examining Committee asked the makers to mute or replace the inappropriate use of words like ‘Vakeel’, ‘Sardaar’, ‘UP Police’ and ‘Gurudwara’. At an important juncture, they muted/modified ‘Haramipana’ and in the first half, they censored the dialogue ‘Bahan ka…maroom’.

The anti-smoking static message was added in a smoking scene. Once these instructions were adhered to, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video was passed with a U/A certificate on October 7. It is 152.05 minutes long, that is, 2 hours 32 minutes and 5 seconds.

Bollywood actor and the host of the popular reality show Bigg Boss 18, Salman Khan, has been approached by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to help prevent the use of animals in the show. This comes after a controversy surrounding the presence of a donkey in the Bigg Boss house, which sparked public outcry and raised ethical concerns about the treatment of animals on the set.

PETA India issued an open letter to Khan, addressing the situation and requesting him to urge the show’s producers to avoid using animals as props. The letter, titled “Urgent Request to Keep Animals Out of Bigg Boss,” stated that there have been numerous complaints from concerned viewers over the confinement of the donkey.
PETA’s Letter: Concerns for Animal Welfare
The letter expresses deep concern for the wellbeing of the donkey in the Bigg Boss house, stating, “We are being inundated with complaints by members of the public who are deeply distressed over the keeping of a donkey in the Bigg Boss house. Their concerns are valid and must not be ignored.” The organization stresses that this isn’t just an issue of public discomfort but also a matter of animal welfare.

“As one of India’s most influential stars and the host of Bigg Boss, you have the power to set a compassionate example,” PETA urged Khan. “We respectfully ask that you use this influence to urge the show’s producers to avoid using animals as props for entertainment.”
The Ethical Argument: Stress and Confusion on Set
PETA’s statement goes on to describe the stress animals experience in an environment as chaotic as a TV set. “As prey animals, donkeys are naturally nervous. They, and other animals, would find the lights, sounds, and clamor that is standard on all show sets confusing and frightening. That a show set is no place for an animal is obvious to viewers who are saddened to see the donkey kept in a small, confined space standing in waste,” the letter read.

The letter also highlights the natural social behaviors of donkeys, comparing their need for a herd to human family structures, further emphasizing that animals should not be used for mere entertainment purposes in such confined and unnatural settings.
Advocate Sadavarte and the Donkey’s Future
The donkey, reportedly brought into the house by Advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte, is said to be part of research regarding donkey milk. However, PETA clarifies that donkeys only produce milk for their foals, rendering the animal’s presence even more unnecessary. The organization has requested Advocate Sadavarte to surrender the donkey to PETA India, ensuring that it could live in a sanctuary among other rescued donkeys.

“We also urge you to encourage Advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte, who has reportedly brought Max into the house, to surrender the donkey to PETA India to rehome in a sanctuary with other rescued donkeys,” PETA said. They believe that such an action would also enhance Sadavarte’s image among viewers.

The letter concludes by asking Khan to take a firm stance in favor of animal rights. “Please take the steps suggested in this letter to show that Bigg Boss recognizes animals deserve our compassion and respect.”
