The celebrity status of Bollywood actors is determined not just through their movies and the success achieved in them. Another indicator that defines their stardom is the advertisements they are seen in. As far as the medium of television is concerned, we have come across Top 10 visible endorsers on TV as per TAM AdEx Celebrity Endorsement Report for January to June 2024.

According to the report, Akshay Kumar has been the most visible star in TV ads with an average visibility of 22 hours per day. He is followed by Shah Rukh Khan whose average visibility is quite close with 20 hours per day. Both have a percentage share of 5 % in total number of ads. The two are followed by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan with a visibility of 16 hours per day.

The biggest surprise in the list is that TV actor Rupali Ganguly (9.3 hours) is ahead of Bollywood star Ranveer Singh (9.1 hours). The list also contains the likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Sara Ali Khan and Kiara Advani.

The only non-film name in the list is that of former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He continues to rule the endorsement charts even years after he retired from international cricket. He is also ahead of the likes of Ranbir, Alia and Ranveer.

Fans who loved the chemistry between Shehzada Dhami and Samridhiii Shukla in the Star Plus show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai were in for a shock when the character of Armaan Poddar played by the former was replaced overnight, after he was accused of misbehaving with the crew. Meanwhile, addressing the issue, Shehzada shared his side of story when he made an entry into Bigg Boss 18 as one of the contestants in the Salman Khan hosted reality show.

Shehzada Dhami opened up about the way he was asked to leave Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai overnight and mentioned that the team, especially the director often misbehaved and mistreated him. “To my surprise, I was suddenly given leave without notice. When I arrived, he publicly humiliated and berated me in front of the entire cast and crew of around 150 people.” Recalling an incident where he was asked to wear multiple bracelets during his initial sequences on the show, Dhami said, “On my first day of shooting as a lawyer, the director requested that I wear bracelets up to my wrist.”  While the instruction was given by the director, the actor discussed it with the creative head of the show as they both felt that the bracelet wouldn’t go well with the personality of a character like Armaan. “I remembered to remove the bracelets and gave them to the wardrobe team. When the director noticed that I was no longer wearing them, he became furious, berating me for removing them. I attempted to explain that the creative head had instructed me to do so, but my explanation was met with further shouting and aggression. I was taken aback by his unprofessional behaviour”.

Sharing a list of such incidents, Dhami added, “The following day, when I arrived on set, a senior female artist approached me and held my hand while asking me something. As I was about to leave for my shot, someone called me from behind. I was about to go but she tightened her grip.” The actor mentioned that it made the situation very awkward. However, when the director felt that Shehzada wasn’t listening, he didn’t even wait for him to clarify and ended up insulting the actor and shouting at him.

“I was the lead actor, portraying the role of an advocate, in a TV show that required me to work 15-hour shifts for six months without taking breaks for food or vacations. Like any dedicated actor, I poured my heart and soul into the project, working tirelessly to bring the show to success,” added Dhami.

This was found in the TAM AdEx Celebrity Endorsement Report for January to June 2024. It said that Akshay was the most visible star in TV ads in this period with an average visibility of 22 hours per day.

By doing that, the Hera Pheri actor has left behind some of the other heavyweights from Bollywood like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh and popular cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

But that’s not all for Akshay. He and his wife and actress are also named as the top celebrity couple by the same agency. The other two couples in this list include Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt.

Aspiring actress Shanaya Kapoor is finally set to see her Bollywood dreams come true. The 24-year-old daughter of actor Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor has been cast as the female lead in a new romantic drama titled Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan. The film will mark her Hindi film debut and pair her alongside Vikrant Massey. The film takes inspiration from a beloved short story by Ruskin Bond.

According to a report by Peeping Moon, the narrative will centre around a passionate theatre actress and a gifted blind musician, played by Kapoor and Massey respectively. Their paths intertwine in a heartwarming story of love and self-discovery, filled with unexpected turns and profound themes. The film delves into the complexities of human connection, exploring concepts like compassion, resilience, independence, desire, and self-belief.  A beautiful musical backdrop will further enhance the emotional journey of the characters.

The project is helmed by director Santosh Singh, known for his acclaimed work on web series like Broken But Beautiful and Apharan. The screenplay is an adaptation by the experienced writer Niranjan Iyenger, renowned for his work on films like My Name Is Khan and Ra.One. Initially, Iyenger was slated to direct the film, but Singh’s extensive experience in handling similar narratives eventually led to the directorial shift.

Producers Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagla of Mini Films are excited to bring this story to life. This marks their second collaboration with Vikrant Massey, following the 2022 remake of Forensic.

The title itself is a homage to the song from the classic 1999 musical romance Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, starring Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.  This upcoming film isn’t Kapoor’s first foray into acting. She will be seen next year in the epic Telugu-Malayalam action film Vrushabha, starring the legendary Mohanlal.

Filming for Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyaan is expected to begin later this month in the picturesque hill station of Mussoorie. The production will also move to Mumbai and Europe for various sequences.  Audiences can anticipate a theatrical release sometime in mid-2205.

Meanwhile, Vikrant Massey is currently engrossed in shooting for filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s first web series for Disney+ Hotstar.  Additionally, promotions for his upcoming film The Sabarmati Report are set to begin soon, leading to its theatrical release in November. Massey is also actively considering several projects for 2025, including a psychological thriller with director Rahul Dholakia and an action film with Excel Entertainment.

Our highly placed sources have informed us that Singham Again trailer is the longest in the history of Hindi Cinema. “Rohit Shetty has packaged a masaledaar trailer packaged with action, heroism, and larger-than-life moments. With an extraordinary ensemble of Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor, Shetty has gone ahead to package the trailer like Avengers, giving everyone a screentime but all for one man – Bajirao Singham,” a trade source shared with Bollywood Hungama.

The trade source further informed us that the Singham Again Trailer runtime is approximate 4 minutes 45 seconds, the longest in history. “With a star cast like this, a long trailer is needed and that’s exactly what Rohit Shetty is serving. This trailer will mark the beginning of a 21-day marketing campaign of Singham Again,” the source told us further.

Singham Again is all set to release on November 1, 2024 and insiders inform that the trailer will blow away the mind of the audience.

Fawad Khan’s much-awaited return to the Indian film industry is finally upon us. After a hiatus of nearly eight years, the Pakistani heartthrob is set to grace the silver screen with his charm and talent. Joining forces with the stunning Vaani Kapoor, Khan will embark on a romantic journey in a London-based comedy. The film, tentatively titled Abir Gulal, is a production by Vivek Agrawal, known for his involvement in critically acclaimed films like Queen, Udta Punjab, Super 30 and Netflix’s first series in India, Sacred Games which became a global blockbuster on the platform. The project is set to be shot entirely in the United Kingdom, marking a significant milestone for the production house Eastwood Studios, founded by Agrawal and Devang Dholakia.

As per a Mid-Day report, the plot revolves around two emotionally wounded individuals who cross paths by chance and find solace in each other’s company. As their bond deepens, love blossoms unexpectedly. “The movie is about a London-based chef [Khan] and a simple, traditional girl from India [Kapoor], who has come to visit the city. The cast and crew will shoot across the city until November 10. Malaika Arora and Ridhi Dogra will join the unit in London. After that, Fawad will return to Pakistan, while the team will resume the shoot in Mumbai for a week. The principal shoot and songs are being shot in London,” said the source.XKhan’s last appearance in Bollywood was in the 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, when asked about his next project, Fawad Khan offered a playful smile but remained tight-lipped. He said, “Baatein ho rahi hoti hain. Again, kuch concrete hoga toh main zaroor aapko bataunga, aapke saath share karunga. Kis tarah main chhupa sakta hoon?”

Details surrounding the film remain under wraps. However, sources close to the project have confirmed that filming will kick off in September in the picturesque city of London. Bollywood Hungama reported that this international project, entirely shot in the UK, marks the debut collaboration for Eastwood Studios, a film company founded by industry veterans Vivek B. Agrawal (formerly of Reliance/Phantom) and Devang Dholakia.

This rom-com tells the story of how two broken people come together by a stroke of luck and end up helping each other unintentionally… falling in love is an eventual byproduct of their electric connection. “Vaani Kapoor has been a part of big films, and she was the perfect choice for this project, given how she has protected herself from being over-exposed. The makers wanted an incredibly fresh casting where Fawad falls in love with a gorgeous Indian girl and Vaani fit right in,” informed the source.

Fawad Khan was last seen in Pakistan’s highest-grossing blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt, Money Back Guarantee and the international series Ms. Marvel.

On the work front, Fawad Khan has several projects in the pipeline. Starting with ZEE5 and Zindagi’s Barzakh, which released on July 19 globally. This will be followed by Shandur, apparently set for the SonyLIV platform. He also has Pakistan’s first Netflix project Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo. The actor also is producing and starring in Neelofar with Mahira Khan.

On Thursday, October 3, we exclusively reported that the trailer of the much-awaited action entertainer will be launched with much fanfare at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, BKC, Mumbai in the presence of 2000 fans and journalists. And now we bring to you another exciting update.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Singham Again already has seen a lot of actors and now it’ll also star none other than Salman Khan. He will play Chulbul Pandey, his much-loved character from Dabangg series. His glimpse will be seen in the film at an important juncture.”

The source further said, “Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars of Indian Cinema, Rohit Shetty is also a director to reckon with while the Cop Universe has an enviable fan following. Hence, when these three will come together in Singham Again, expect fireworks of another level this Diwali in cinemas.”

The source also added, “Salman, however, won’t be a part of the trailer of Singham Again that releases tomorrow, on October 7.” As per reports, the superstar will be shooting for the cameo in a few days.

Singham Again stars Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff. It is all set to release on Friday, November 1. It is the third Singham film and the fifth film of the Rohit Shetty cop universe. The franchise began with a bang with Singham (2011) followed by Singham Again (2014). Then, Simmba (2018), starring Ranveer Singh, was released and it had a cameo of Singham. In Akshay Kumar-starrer Sooryavanshi (2021), both Singham and Simmba appeared and it led to a frenzy in cinemas.
