However, in the web series, the terrorists are depicted with names like ‘Bhola’ and ‘Shankar,’ which has been met with significant backlash online. Kangana Ranaut, known for her outspoken views, took to her X account (formerly Twitter) to condemn the series for what she perceives as a deliberate distortion of historical events. She accused the makers of IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack of using politically motivated agendas to twist real-life occurrences.

Kangana wrote, “Law of the land is that one can show unimaginable amount of violence and nudity on OTT platforms without any consequence or censorship, one can even distort real life events to suit their politically motivated sinister motives. There is all the freedom for communists or leftists across the world for such anti-national expressions, but as a nationalist, no OTT platform allows us to make films that revolve around the integrity and unity of Bharat.”

The anticipation surrounding Salman Khan’s upcoming action entertainer, Sikandar, has reached the fever pitch. Following his rib injury, Salman Khan has resumed the shoot of Sikandar, being helmed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film’s ensemble cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, and Prateik Babbar, will also be joining the shoot. Khan is particularly looking forward to the intense action sequences under Murugadoss’s direction.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, the film’s team has recreated Mumbai locales, including Dharavi and Matunga, on a massive set that has reportedly cost a staggering Rs. 15 crores to construct. A 45-day shooting schedule in Mumbai is currently underway, during which Khan will be performing high-octane action sequences. A source revealed, “The makers have spent a fortune to make the sets look authentic. This is a crucial schedule as we’ll be shooting not just action, but also emotional and dramatic scenes.”

Following the Mumbai schedule, the team will relocate to a palace in Hyderabad for the next phase of production. A source stated, “We’re searching for a palace that adds scale and grandeur to the film. The third schedule will take place around November.”

Sikandar is set to release on Eid 2025 release.

Anushka shared her excitement about this new venture, stated, “Producing a feature film has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a family that lives and breathes cinema has inspired me to tell stories that matter. This project is very close to my heart, and I am thrilled to bring it to life. The anticipation surrounding the upcoming reunion of the duo, Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar, has been palpable among fans. A source close to the project has revealed that the film, a horror comedy, will soon be unveiled to the eager audience. The project will be backed by Ektaa R Kapoor.

As per a report in Mid-day, on September 9, Akshay Kumar’s birthday, fans can expect a special treat in the form of a motion poster. This one-minute teaser will not only reveal the much-anticipated title but also offer a glimpse of Kumar’s character. Priyadarshan has been working tirelessly to bring this project to life. According to the source, the director recently visited Mumbai to finalize the motion poster.

Bollywood Hungama had reported that Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan are reuniting after 14 years in February of 2024. Back in April 2024, Priyadarshan told Hindustan Times, “Now that I am done with my docu-series on the Ram Mandir’s history, my most important film on which I am beginning work is the one with Akshay, produced by Ekta Kapoor. It is a horror fantasy with humour.”

When asked if it’s like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, the filmmaker said, “That was a psychological thriller, but this one will be fantasy, in the backdrop of black magic, the oldest superstition of India. It is always a pleasure collaborating with Akshay. From our first film to this one, it has always turned out well with him, he handles the emotions so well. I was waiting for a good subject to get back with him, and this one I feel will be that.”

While plot details remain under wraps, it is known that Akshay Kumar will be playing a charming character who finds himself entangled in a love triangle with three women. The horror comedy genre, combined with Priyadarshan’s signature comedic touch and Akshay Kumar’s charismatic presence, promises a unique and entertaining cinematic experience.

A highly anticipated action drama Mitti starring Sidharth Malhotra has been put on hold indefinitely. In June of this year, reports emerged that Malhotra was teaming up with producer Murad Khetani and director Balwinder Singh Janjua for a gritty action film. South Indian actress Sreeleela was also cast in the film. However, recent developments suggest that Malhotra abruptly exited the film just weeks before production was scheduled to begin.

 

As per a report in Peeping Moon, the reasons for his departure remain unclear, citing both creative differences with the director and concerns about the script itself. While some sources suggest Malhotra simply wasn’t convinced by the project’s direction, others claim his decision may have been influenced by a desire for more creative control on set. There’s also speculation that the actor’s recent box office struggles may have played a role, potentially making it difficult to secure funding for the film.

Earlier, director Balwinder Singh Janjua had earlier spoken to Bollywood Hungama to offer details about the project’s themes. He described it as an “action drama set in Uttarakhand,” a story that revolves around “guilt, living with the baggage of guilt.” He further elaborated that the film would explore themes of “saving your home and your land, your heritage,” emphasizing the importance of family and relationships.
Rumors are rife that Malhotra might be attached to an upcoming romantic comedy produced by Dinesh Vijan and directed by Dasvi filmmaker Tushar Jalota. This project, initially slated to begin filming in late 2023, was reportedly delayed due to budgetary concerns. Now, with Malhotra potentially on board, the film appears to be back on track, with filming potentially commencing in the coming months.
The yet-untitled film is expected to be a light-hearted and commercially viable project, a stark contrast to the action drama Malhotra recently departed. While the casting of the female lead hasn’t been officially confirmed, reports suggest that Janhvi Kapoor is in talks for the role.
Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra is also in talks with the makers of Race 4 to join Saif Ali Khan in the new installment.

The Kangana Ranaut-starrer Emergency has been in the news for the last one week due to the various controversies. In a shocking development today, the makers have decided to postpone the film’s release. In other words, it won’t arrive in cinemas on September 6, as scheduled.

The postponement probably has happened due to the issues surrounding the film. Yesterday, on August 31, Bollywood Hungama reported that the Punjab and Haryana High Court had a hearing over a case filed by Gurinder Singh and Jagmohan Singh. These residents of Mohali demanded that the censor certificate, granted by the Central Board of Film Certificate (CBFC) to Emergency, should be revoked. They further said that the film should be allowed to be reviewed by eminent Sikh personalities before its release in cinemas.

Bollywood Hungama further reported in the same story that the CBFC has given the cuts to be made in the film but the certification is under consideration. As per Hindustan Times, additional solicitor general of India Satya Pal Jain, who appeared for the CBFC, told the court, “It (the certification) has not been granted as of now. It will be granted as per rules and regulations, as applicable in this case. If anyone has any grievance, the same can be sent to the board.”

It now remains to be seen when Emergency releases now and whether its release would be pushed by a week.

Back in June 2024, Bollywood Hungama reported that the film will have a direct-to-OTT release. A trade source said, “Visfot has been bought by Jio Cinema and it is expected to be out very soon. It is produced by Sanjay Gupta whose directorial venture The Miranda Brothers will also release on the streaming giant. Visfot, however, will be released first on Jio Cinema followed by The Miranda Brothers.”

It is directed by Kookie Gulati and also produced by Bhushan Kumar. It is an official remake of the 2012 Venezuelan film, Rock, Paper, Scissors and as per reports, Riteish plays a pilot whose son gets kidnapped by Fardeen’s character.

Despite its lukewarm reception upon release, Sanam Teri Kasam has garnered a dedicated fanbase over the years. The heartwarming tale of love and loss, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, has resonated with audiences, leading to calls for a sequel. And it seems like those calls have been heard! 

According to a report by Hindustan Times, a sequel to Sanam Teri Kasam is in development. The original director duo, Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, are set to helm the project, promising to continue the romantic saga that captivated audiences.
Sanam Teri Kasam Sequel to Feature New Faces?
The report quoted a source saying, “The makers want to make a sequel to Sanam Teri Kasam. However, it is at a very nascent stage currently. They have only started the casting process of the film, so it is still in pre-production.” 

The sequel, tentatively titled Jaanam Teri Kasam, will reportedly be a musical. The source further added, “It will feature a new cast; the makers didn’t want to repeat the actors. The auditions are going on for the main leads currently, and they will look at the supporting cast afterward.”
Sanam Teri Kasam Sequel to be Musical 
Spilling beans on the upcoming project, the source shared, “Jaanam Teri Kasam will be a musical. The makers are looking for a female lead who can sing and has the looks and vibe of a singer, someone who is between 18-20 years old. The film’s story will have a vibe similar to Aashiqui 2.” 

Though the report has generated excitement, fans have to wait for the official confirmation of the same.
