The most awaited franchise of Indian Cinema, Dhoom 4, is indeed in the development at YRF. Very reliable sources close to the production house have confirmed that Aditya Chopra is developing Dhoom 4 with Sridhar Raghavan and Vijay Krishna Acharya as the core-set of writers. That’s not all, Aditya Chopra is keen to mount Dhoom 4 with his present favorite, Ayan Mukerji.

A source tells us, “Aditya Chopra is very happy with the footage shot for War 2 and has verbally discussed his intent of making Dhoom 4 with Ayan Mukerji. The director is also charged up with the idea, but has his baby, Brahmastra also lined up. He has requested for some time from Aditya Chopra, as he wishes to focus on War 2 at the moment, and then discuss the future of Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Jio Studios, before committing to Dhoom 4.”

The source also told us that Dhoom 4 is Aditya Chopra’s most ambitious film. “Aditya Chopra knows the power of Dhoom franchise and has kept it closest to his heart. While he is developing a series of spy films, he knows the value of Dhoom franchise and wants to bring it at the right time with the right cast and right director. His mind is all focused to create Dhoom 4 with best talents of India,” the source told Bollywood Hungama.

Dhoom 4 casting is yet undecided and we will have a clear picture on the same by mid-2025. Ayan meanwhile will wrap up War by November 2024, as he is still to shoot two songs and some action sequences.

Global star Priyanka Chopra recently made a stunning appearance at the screening of her Marathi production, Paani, in Mumbai. Accompanied by her mother, Madhu Chopra, and brother, Siddharth, Priyanka graced the event on Monday night, radiating in a beautiful blue salwar suit.

As one of the producers of Paani, Priyanka’s involvement in the film extends beyond her role as a celebrity. She is deeply invested in the project, both creatively and as a promoter of regional cinema. The film, directed by Addinath M Kothare, who also stars in the lead role, is set to release in theaters on October 18, 2024.

Paani has already garnered significant attention, having been screened at the New York Film Festival and winning the Best Film on Environment/Conservation/Preservation award at the 66th National Film Awards in 2019.

Priyanka’s excitement for the film’s release is evident in her social media posts. She shared a series of pictures from the screening event, captioning them, “My last night in Mumbai with some special people. Our Marathi feature film ‘पाणी’ is all set to release theatrically on 18th October.”

Kapil Sharma, the renowned comedian and television host, is all set to make his much-anticipated return to the big screen with the sequel to his 2015 hit comedy, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. The original film, which marked Kapil’s acting debut, was a sleeper hit, garnering Rs 43 crore in India and solidifying his presence in Bollywood. Fans of the comedian have been eagerly waiting for his return to the cinematic space, and now, their wait is almost over.

The sequel Is in the works

According to sources close to the project, Kapil Sharma has signed on the dotted line for Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2. The sequel will continue the comedic journey that Kapil’s character embarked on in the first film. “After experimenting with various genres, Kapil is excited to return to his roots in comedy,” revealed a source. The project is expected to begin filming towards the end of this year.

New Director, same classic touch

While the first film was directed by the iconic duo Abbas Mustan, the sequel will be helmed by Anukalp Goswami, one of the key writers from the original movie. However, Abbas Mustan will remain involved in the project as creative supervisors, ensuring that the sequel retains the humor and charm that made the first film a hit. “Anukalp has crafted a script that Kapil loved, and Abbas Mustan will bring their expertise to the narrative,” the source added.

Casting underway for female leads

Just like its predecessor, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 will feature multiple female leads. The casting process is currently underway, with the filmmakers seeking to assemble a dynamic ensemble cast that complements Kapil’s comedic style. “The film will be a caper, with Kapil’s character once again at the center of a comedic conflict involving multiple women,” the source concluded.

As per a report in The Economic Times dated August 28, the family office of Amitabh Bachchan has picked up a small stake in Swiggy. The report further states that his office has bought shares held by the food-delivery and quick-commerce firm’s employees and early investors. However, there are no details available on the financials involved.

Besides being an actor, Amitabh Bachchan is known to make the correct investments. In October 2013, The Times of India reported that the value of the stocks invested by Big B in Just Dial shot up by nearly 10,190% in a short span of four months. This increased the value of his shares to Rs 6.45 crore from its original investment of Rs 6.27 lakh.

In 2022, The Economic Times did a story that Amitabh’s patience to hold a smallcap stock for the long term is paying off as the share price of DP Wires jumped over 5 times since 2017 when it got listed on the NSE SME exchange. The story further stated that in the past, Big B also held shares of Fineotex, Birla Pacific Medspa and Neuland Labs.

Recently, Amitabh Bachchan was also in the news when he purchased apartments in Borivali worth nearly Rs 7 crores from Incline Realty, a subsidiary of Oberoi Realty. It created a buzz in the Mumbai property market as it was rare to see a celeb buying a residence in a suburb like Borivali and away from prime areas like Bandra, Andheri, Juhu etc.

Around the same time, he also bought three office properties spread across three floors in Oshiwara. A few months before this purchase, Amitabh Bachchan acquired a land parcel in Alibaug to build a sea-facing luxury villa for over Rs. 10 crores.

The recent success of Stree 2 has sparked a flurry of discussions, from the film’s box office performance to behind-the-scenes tidbits. One topic that has caught the attention of fans and critics alike is the striking resemblance between the film’s promotional poster and that of Stranger Things Season 2. Abhishek Banerjee recently addressed these comparisons during an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama.

When asked about the similarities between the two posters, Banerjee responded, “Pata nahi, I have no idea. Yeh marketing aur poster woh log kis tarah se sochte hain humein kya pata. Hum toh actor hain. Hamara toh kaam hai poster pe aana, banana thodi hai (I have no idea. It’s up to the marketing team and designers to figure out how to promote the film. Our job is to appear on the poster, not create it).”

The controversy arose when viewers noticed that the posters of the two shows shared a similar aesthetic. Both featured a group of young characters standing in front of a dark, ominous background, with a sense of looming danger. The resemblance was so apparent that many fans took to social media to express their observations. While some argued that the similarities were purely coincidental, others suggested that Stree 2 might have been inspired by the popular Netflix series.

Stree 2, helmed by Amar Kaushik, stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi. Released on Independence Day 2024, the film has garnered Rs. 421.85 crores at the box office till now.

Stree 2 star Shraddha Kapoor is making waves not just on screen but in her personal life as well. The actress, who has won hearts with her performance in the blockbuster film, is reportedly planning a significant upgrade in her living situation. Shraddha is set to become Akshay Kumar’s neighbour by moving into Hrithik Roshan’s current sea-facing apartment in Juhu.

According to a recent report by the Hindustan Times, Shraddha Kapoor is set to move into Hrithik Roshan’s sea-facing apartment in Juhu, Mumbai. This move would make her the new neighbour of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who lives in a luxurious duplex apartment in the same building with his wife Twinkle Khanna and their children.

This prime Juhu property, currently owned by Hrithik Roshan, offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea and is located in one of Mumbai’s most sought-after residential areas. The building is home to several celebrities, making it a hub of Bollywood royalty.

Initially, there were speculations that Varun Dhawan, along with his wife Natasha Dalal and their daughter, would be moving into Hrithik’s apartment. However, those plans didn’t materialise, and it seems that Shraddha Kapoor will be the one to make the move.

Interestingly, Varun Dhawan, who also made a special appearance in Stree 2 as Bhaskar Sharma from the Maddock Supernatural Universe film Bhediya (2022), was linked to the property before Shraddha’s name surfaced. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar also made a surprising cameo in Stree 2, playing a patient in a psychiatric hospital in Bhopal. 

Stree 2, produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, has turned into an all-time blockbuster, with its box office performance exceeding expectations. The film, featuring a star-studded cast including Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, recorded the biggest second weekend of all time and continued to perform well on its third Monday.

The upcoming film Emergency, starring and directed by Kangana Ranaut, has sparked controversy ahead of its release. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the apex body responsible for the management of historical Gurdwaras, has issued a legal notice to the producers of the film, including Kangana Ranaut, alleging that the movie misrepresents Sikh history and contains scenes that have deeply offended the Sikh community.

The SGPC’s legal notice demands the immediate removal of objectionable scenes from Emergency and calls for an apology from the filmmakers to the Sikh community. The SGPC also insists that the film’s trailer, which was released on August 14, be taken down from all public and social media platforms.

As reported by The Hindu, SGPC Secretary Partap Singh expressed strong disapproval of the film’s portrayal of Sikhs, stating, “The movie trailer reveals several anti-Sikh scenes which have deeply hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. An attempt has been made to show Sikhs as terrorists and separatists, which is unacceptable and far from the truth.”

The SGPC’s notice highlights concerns that the film distorts historical facts and perpetuates negative stereotypes about Sikhs. Singh emphasized that if the filmmakers do not comply with the demands to remove the offensive content, the SGPC will pursue legal action against them.

In addition to the SGPC’s legal notice, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, seeking the revocation of the certification granted to Emergency for its public release. The PIL argues that the film poses a threat to the social harmony of Punjab and could incite communal tensions.

The petitioners behind the PIL contend that Emergency attempts to vilify the Sikh community by presenting them in a negative light, which could have serious consequences for the already sensitive social fabric of Punjab. The PIL requests the court to intervene and prevent the release of the film until the objectionable scenes are removed and the filmmakers issue a public apology.

Emergency, a political drama centered around the events of the 1975 Emergency in India, has been a topic of discussion since its announcement. As of now, neither Kangana Ranaut nor the other producers of Emergency have publicly responded to the SGPC’s legal notice or the PIL filed in court.
