Filmmaker Siddharth Anand is teaming up with Akshay Kumar for an action film to be directed by Milan Luthria. Anand, Kumar, and Luthria have been discussing this project for some time. The team has meticulously crafted a script that sets the action against the backdrop of a vigilante story.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, sources close to the development said they all made a unanimous decision to cast Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Akshay Kumar, always up for a challenge, is excited to explore a new facet of action under the guidance of Siddharth Anand. The film will showcase him in a never-before-seen avatar.

Siddharth Anand, known for his blockbuster hits like Bang Bang, War, Pathaan, and Fighter, has established himself as a master of crafting adrenaline-pumping action sequences. Together with his wife, Mamta Anand, they have founded Marflix, a production house dedicated to delivering cinematic experiences that push the boundaries of action. Their upcoming slate of 10 feature films promises to explore new dimensions of the genre and captivate audiences like never before.

Marflix Pictures has a promising lineup of films in the pipeline. Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s upcoming collaboration with director AR Murugadoss, titled Sikandar, promises to be an action extravaganza. While the filming began in June 2024, a new report reveals that the next shooting schedule will focus on delivering three intense action sequences. Action has always been a strong suit for both Khan and Murugadoss. Their first-time teaming up on Sikandar guarantees a film that’s a visual spectacle, packed with high-octane stunts.

According to a report in Mid-Day, the crucial next schedule kicks off on August 26 at Chitrakoot Grounds in Mumbai, and the team is already gearing up to capture these groundbreaking sequences. Murugadoss views these fight scenes as the film’s centerpiece and plans to execute them on a grand scale. The first sequence promises to be a showstopper, featuring Khan suspended from a great height while engaging in a thrilling hand-to-hand combat sequence. “The choreography will blend aerial acrobatics with close-quarters combat,” a source revealed. “This scene, which also includes special effects, is expected to be one of the most visually stunning parts of the movie.”

The second scene in question is an elaborate car chase, a heart-pounding spectacle complete with exploding vehicles and high-speed crashes. The third sequence promises a brutal and raw showdown between Khan’s character and the film’s antagonist. “Here, Salman’s character will have a face-off with the primary antagonist in a brutal brawl,” adds the source. “The director wants it to be raw and bloody.”

Scheduled for release on Eid 2025, Sikandar also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Prateik Babbar and Sathyaraj.

Star Gold announces the Worldwide TV First Premiere of the blockbuster horror comedy Munjya. It stars Sharvari Wagh, Mona Singh, Abhay Verma, and Ajay Purkar in leading roles. Directed by Aaditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Amar Kaushik, Munjya is the third film in the Maddock Supernatural Universe and is based on popular Indian folklore.

Riteish Deshmukh has raised his voice in response to reports of two young girls, aged three and four, being sexually assaulted at a school in Badlapur, Thane. The actor expressed his outrage on Twitter, stating that the offender should face the “harshest punishment.”

“As a parent am absolutely disgusted, pained and raging with anger!! Two 4 year old girls were sexually assaulted by the male cleaning staff member of the school. Schools are supposed to be as safe a place for kids as their own homes. Harshest punishment needs to be given to this demon. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his times gave the guilty what they deserved – Chaurang- we need these laws back in action.”

There were reports of sexual molestation involving two kindergarten girls in the school restroom. Sources claim that on August 12, the girls informed their parents about the assault. The suspects were arrested on August 17.

Sections 65(2) (rape of a girl under twelve years of age), 74 (assault or criminal force with intent to outrage modesty), 75 (sexual harassment offenses), and 76 (assault or criminal force with intent to disrobe) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act provided the legal grounds for the accused’s arrest.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source close to the development revealed, “Vishal Bhardwaj has developed the first action film of his career, and the maker is planning to mount it on a big scale. It’s a mission-based action thriller and Sajid Nadiadwala is excited to bring it to the spectacle in the biggest possible way.”

The film is envisioned as a visually stunning extravaganza, with six massive action sequences planned. The source further added, “The duo of Sajid and Vishal believe that Shahid Kapoor is the best fit for the role. The makers are looking to create 6 massive action set pieces for the yet untitled feature film.”

Shahid Kapoor was immediately drawn to the project. “Shahid was bowled over by the narration of this action thriller and was surprised to see so much action in the script,” the source said. The actor shares a deep admiration for Vishal and Sajid, and their collaboration is one of the most anticipated in the industry.

While Shahid is already confirmed as the lead, the makers are on the lookout for a top-tier actress to play the female lead. The casting process is expected to begin soon, and fans can expect some exciting announcements in the coming months. The film is slated to go on floors in September or October 2024 and will be shot extensively in India and the United States. The makers are aiming for a 2025 release.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is set to hit theatres soon. Fans have been eagerly awaiting new details about the film. Earlier this year, Kartik Aaryan surprised everyone by revealing about Vidya Balan’s return as Manjulika, leading to speculation about Akshay Kumar’s involvement. Akshay has officially confirmed to Hindustan Times that he will not be appearing in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 alongside Kartik, Vidya, Triptii and Madhuri Dixit. He dismissed the cameo reports stating, “No, absolutely not. It’s fake news.”\

Earlier, director Anees Bazmee had also stated that the actor is not a part of the project. Speaking with Zoom, he said, “No, Akshay is not a part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. I am dying to work with him, but unfortunately, I have not been able to script a film where we could work together. In future, certainly yes.”

Interestingly, Akshay had an interesting came in the recently released blockbuster Stree 2.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, and including a standout performance by Tabu, was the ultimate Bollywood horror comedy. It was released in 2022 and has grossed more than Rs. 180 crores in India. The film also stars Rajpal Yadav.

Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has officially clinched the Diwali box office spot, causing excitement among horror comedy fans throughout the country. The highly anticipated film has already started to generate interest with the release of its first look.

After beginning the shoot in March of this year, the team has worked relentlessly over the previous four months on sophisticated studio sets and real locations. The makers wrapped up the film on August 2. Fans quickly recognized the property as Sonakshi Sinha’s residence, thanks to previous glimpses shared by the actress on social media and in an Architectural Digest India video tour. The apartment played a central role in Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding festivities, serving as the venue for the intimate celebrations.
