The rumours of the couple divorcing have been doing the rounds for quite some time but neither of them has confirmed about any trouble in their marriage. However, after the incident at the Anant Ambani wedding, a social media activity of Abhishek Bachchan too also garnered immense attention especially since it was related to the divorce. The actor had apparently liked a post which read, “When love stops being easy. Couples who have been married are now parting ways. What has prompted their decision and why are grey divorces on the rise?” which was a quote by the author Heena Khandelwal. This lead to many believing that the actor is hinting at their troubled marriage.

2024 has proved to be a decisive year for Kangana Ranaut. She won the recently concluded 2024 Lok Sabha Elections from the constituency of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. Her passion project Emergency will release in cinemas on September 6. And now it has come to light that she is selling off her bungalow in Mumbai.

This is the same property where the office of her production house, Manikarnika Films, is housed. It is located in the elite Pali Hill neighborhood of Bandra.

A YouTube page called Code Estate put up a video few hours ago that a production house office is up for sale. The host didn’t name the celebrity but the tour of the video made it clear that it belonged to Kangana Ranaut. Even netizens in the comment section mentioned the actress’s name.

The reason why it was easy to guess is because her bungalow was in the news in 2020 when it was partly demolished by the authorities for alleged illegal extensions. It was one of the biggest episodes of that year.

As per the details shared by the anchor in the Code Estate video, the plot size is 285 meters while the construction area of the bungalow is 3042 sq feet. It has ground floor and two floors. The video tour makes it clear that the entire property is aesthetically done. It even has a red-themed sound proof editor’s room on the 1250 sq feet first floor.

The host also mentions in the end that the property is being sold for a whopping Rs. 40 crores.

Zee Studios, in association with – India Signing Hands, is thrilled to announce the re-release of the blockbuster film, Gadar 2, ahead of its first anniversary. The sequel, which captured the hearts of millions across the nation last year, became one of the highest grossing Hindi movies of all-time, and it will now return to the silver screen for a specific reason. In a pioneering move to make cinema accessible to all, the Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma starrer will be screened with Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpretation for the benefit of Deaf audiences.

In an official statement released by Zee Studios, they have expressed their delight as they collaborate on this initiative to screen the film at select PVR cinemas nationwide, providing an immersive cinematic experience for the differently-abled audiences. Zee Studios were approached by India Signing Hands (ISH News), a Mumbai-based organization founded by Mr. Alok Kejriwal (Deaf) to provide accessibility solutions for the Deaf for this and the company has also shared its happiness in playing a key role in this collaboration.

Commenting on this re-release, Umesh Kr Bansal, CBO, Zee Studios stated, “Gadar 2 is a film that resonates with the core of every Indian. We are delighted to bring it back to the big screen, 1 year later, for a meaningful initiative. Making cinema accessible for all is a priority for us, and we are proud to partner with India Signing Hands to make this happen.”

Sunny Deol, aka the iconic Tara Singh, also shared his happiness and said, “Gadar 2 is a film that has, and always will have, a special place in my heart. So, it’s overwhelming to see the continued love and support from audiences 1 year after its release. This re-release with Indian Sign Language interpretation will allow the film to touch the hearts of even more audiences this time.” Ameesha Patel, who reprises her role as Sakina, added, “Being a part of the Gadar films has been an incredible journey for me. It feels great to be able to bring the story of Sakina back on the big screen for a special audience that does not get enough opportunities to fully enjoy cinema as the rest of us, and I hope this initiative will inspire other filmmakers to make cinema more inclusive and accessible.”

Set against the backdrop of the third Indo-Pakistan war of 1971, Gadar 2 follows the heroic journey of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) as he crosses the border to rescue his son, Charanjeet (Utkarsh Sharma) while battling all odds. The film will be screened with Indian Sign Language interpretation on Sunday, August 4 at select PVR cinemas in all major cities across India.

While Ajay Devgn is eagerly awaiting the response for the Neeraj Pandey directorial Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, the actor also has other interesting films in the pipeline, which he has already kicked off. Among the upcoming projects is the popular action-comedy Son of Sardaar which is marking its return with a sequel and will see Devgn reunite with Sanjay Dutt. Apart from the duo, the second instalment will have Mrunal Thakur as the leading lady. However, recent reports suggest that Son of Sardaar 2 will have an extensive supporting cast.

While reports indicate that the work on the film has kicked off in June 2, we hear that a mix of actors from the prequel and several new ones have been added to the list of the film’s cast. Among the new ones, names of Neeru Bajwa, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Sharat Saxena, Roshni Walia, and Ashwini Kalsekar have been added whereas Mukul Dev and Vindu Dhara Singh, who were a part of the first instalment will be seen in this one too.

In a report with Pinkvillla, a source confirmed these details, adding, “Son of Sardaar 2 is a strong family entertainer and the makers have got a strong ensemble cast on board. The plot of this comic caper rides on quirky characters and the humor is a result of the inter-character dynamics. The Son of Sardaar 2 team has cast actors based on their ability to pull off the comic sequences with conviction and are confident to take the audience on a funny ride in 2025,”

The source also revealed details of the film being shot across two continents and stated, “The film will be shot primarily in Scotland, as the team intends to shoot for the film in the country till the end of August. After calling it a wrap on the international leg, they kick off the second schedule in Mumbai, followed by the next round of leg in multiple cities of North India.”

While the makers have been keeping the details of Son of Sardaar 2 under wraps, we hear that audiences will receive a treat in the form of the fun camaraderie that Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt will share on screen. Although the release date has not been locked, it is being said that the makers are looking at releasing it in the second half of 2025.

Despite being considered as one of the most ‘selfish’ contestants of the Bigg Boss OTT 3, actress Sana Makbul, best known for her role in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon as Lavanya, walked away with the trophy after being announced as winner by host Anil Kapoor. For the unversed, the digital reality show came to an end on August 2, Friday evening amid much fanfare. Along with Sana, rapper and co-contestant Naezy were declared as the runner-up of the show.

Bigg Boss OTT 3, which kicked off a couple of months ago, featured several influences, some television stars, and a few other known names from different walks of life. After the exit of the controversial Armaan Malik as well as the YouTuber Lovekesh Kataria, the show found its top five finalists in Armaan’s second wife Kritika Malik, Sana Makbul, rapper Naezy, Sai Ketan Rao, and Ranvir Shorey. While shockingly the Maliks got evicted from the game despite creating stirs outside the house for their polygamous marriage, Sai Ketan Rao, who is a renowned celebrity in the television industry also had to bid adieu to the show after Kritika. Followed by the eviction of the two, Bollywood actor Ranvir Shorey, who too made news, was the last three to be eliminated, leaving the choice between rapper Naezy aka Naved Shaikh and Sana Makbul. As the audiences waited with bated breath, with the clock all about strike midnight, host Anil Kapoor announced Sana as the winner leaving the audiences enthralled.

In a landmark decision in the unauthorized use of their likeness by artificial intelligence (AI) creators, the Bombay High Court has taken a significant step to safeguard Bollywood singer Arijit Singh’s personality rights. The court has issued a restraining order against several third parties, prohibiting them from using Singh’s name, voice, mannerisms, and other personal attributes without his consent.

According to Live Law India, Justice Riyaz Chagl addressed a growing concern over the exploitation of celebrities’ personal traits through advanced AI technologies. This order is a direct response to the misuse of Singh’s voice and image by various entities seeking commercial gain without authorization.

The court has prohibited entities from using Arijit Singh’s name, vocal style, photographs, and other attributes for any form of commercial or personal gain. This restriction extends to various forms of media, including online platforms, advertisements, promotional materials, and merchandise. Importantly, it also encompasses the use of AI technologies such as voice models, voice conversion tools, digital avatars, and deepfake technologies that replicate or mimic Singh’s persona.

Justice Chagla emphasized, “Even though freedom of speech and expression allows for critique and commentary, it does not grant the license to exploit a celebrity’s persona for commercial gain.” The ruling aims to protect Singh from wrongful exploitation of his personality rights, ensuring that any AI-generated content mimicking his traits is addressed under the law.

The court’s concern centres on how unauthorized AI tools can manipulate and misuse a celebrity’s identity. Such tools enable the creation of counterfeit sound recordings, videos, and other content that could potentially harm the celebrity’s career and public image. Justice Chagla noted that these tools facilitate the unauthorized appropriation of a celebrity’s voice and likeness, which undermines their control over their identity.

The judge highlighted, “Making AI tools available that enable the conversion of any voice into that of a celebrity without his/her permission constitutes a violation of the celebrity’s personality rights.” This observation underscores the potential risks posed by such technologies, including economic harm and reputational damage to the celebrity involved.

The ruling addressed how the misuse of Singh’s name, voice, and image could jeopardize his livelihood. The judge pointed out that the Defendants are drawing traffic to their platforms by capitalizing on Singh’s popularity, leading to potential abuse of his personality rights. The creation of new audio or video content in Singh’s name without his consent could result in severe economic harm and jeopardize his career.

Justice Chagla observed, “These Defendants are attracting visitors / drawing traffic to their websites and/or AI platforms by capitalising on the Plaintiff’s popularity and reputation, thereby subjecting the Plaintiff’s personality rights to potential abuse.”

In the ongoing legal battle, Singh’s counsel, advocate Hiren Kamod, highlighted that some AI creators were using Singh’s voice and mannerisms without permission. Additionally, Singh’s image and name were being exploited on various online platforms and merchandise.

The Bombay High Court’s order mandates the removal of content violating Singh’s personality rights. The court will reconvene on September 2, 2024, to review the case further and ensure compliance with the restraining order.

The much talked and bout John Abraham – Sharvari Wagh starrer Vedaa will finally be hitting screens this Independence Day on August 15. The film which ran into issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), finally received clearance to release. While Vedaa will see the light of day, the Diljit Dosanjh starrer Punjab 95 produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP continues to find itself mired in a quagmire at the CBFC awaiting certification.

Surprisingly, the film, Punjab 95 that was submitted for certification months ago was initially recommended a whopping 85 cuts, following, which it was to receive clearance to release. However, despite the makers agreeing to the said recommendations, the CBFC found the film’s sensitive subject matter questionable and doubted its suitability for release. It was reported that citing the then political scenario with general elections happening across the nation, the certification of the film was put on hold by the CBFC.

On the other hand, though, the Honey Trehan directorial premiered at TIFF earlier this year, but back home the release of Punjab 95 has seeming come to a halt. This non-committal to clear the film with objectionable reason raises a pressing question: why are other producers not speaking out against the CBFC’s alleged harassment? In fact, besides RSVP’s Punjab 95, Dev Patel’s Monkey Man is yet another example of a film awaiting certification from the CBFC. Commenting on the same an inside source from the production studio reveals, “Dev Patel’s Monkey Man has faced significant delays in obtaining certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), till the time being released overseas and potentially it may premier on OTT platforms as well but may not get censor certificate in India. Similarly, RSVP’s Punjab 95, starring Diljit Dosanjh, has been stuck in limbo at the CBFC for over a year, with the filmmakers having made suggested changes, yet still awaiting clearance. This prolonged process is proving to be a frustrating ordeal for the filmmakers. We all saw how tough it was for Vedaa producers to get the clearance.”

While the question remains, whether the CBFC will reconsider its stance and facilitate a smoother release process for these films? Sources state that Smita Vats Sharma, the CEO of the CBFC has apparently resigned from her post, whether her resignation was a direct result of the CBFC’s stringent policies on certifying film or something else. Opting to not comment on the matter, Sharma stated, “It isn’t like the CBFC is not being proactive, but since the matter is currently under subjudice, and since I have resigned, I would not like to comment on the same.”
