TV actor Dalljiet Kaur has confirmed lodging an FIR against her estranged husband, Nikhil Patel, amid allegations of cheating. In a detailed Instagram post, Dalljiet shared her recent experience of filing the FIR, expressing her gratitude towards Mumbai Police for their prompt and empathetic response. She stated, “Thank you so much Joint Commissioner of Police Anil Paraska for being so amazing. Thank you AGRIPADA Police Station for being so efficient and kind. Your prompt response helped me gain confidence that I am heard and safe.”

Dalljiet’s social media posts and legal threats
Dalljiet has been insinuating through her social media posts that her estranged husband had cheated on her. These posts led to Nikhil threatening legal action, calling her posts ‘cheap.’ Despite these threats, Dalljiet went ahead and filed the FIR, detailing her experience and thanking various police officials for their assistance and professionalism. She wrote, “The Deputy Commissioner of Police Krishnakant Sir heard me with patience. And in no time Senior Inspector of Agripada Police Station, Yogendra Pache Sir, heard the entire matter in detail.”

Mumbai police’s support
In her Instagram post, Dalljiet described the process as calming and efficient. She highlighted how the police officers made her and her father feel safe and comfortable during the filing process. “I couldn’t believe we were being served with water to calm me down and we instantly felt very safe to speak the truth. Sir made me and my father very comfortable as he could see I was shaken with whatever was happening,” she wrote. “Investigating Officer Sachin Shelke sir then carried the whole FIR with so much patience and empathy. There was Lady constable who sat throughout my filing making sure she was present in the room throughout the filing.”

Nikhil Patel’s response
Nikhil Patel, a Kenya-based businessman, recently arrived in Mumbai following Dalljiet’s accusations. He had previously sent her a legal notice and threatened to donate her belongings to charity if she did not collect them from his home in Kenya. Nikhil was recently seen at Mumbai airport with his girlfriend, Safeena Nazar, further fueling speculation about the state of his marriage with Dalljiet.

MTV has announced the release of its latest documentary, Moving Mountains Within, premiering on August 7, 2024 on JioCinema Premium. Directed by Abhishek Kumawat and produced by Dr. Rajat Chauhan and Abhishek Kumawat, this captivating documentary takes viewers on an extraordinary journey through the plateau of Ladakh. It captures awe-inspiring challenges and victories that the ultra-runners go through in one of the world’s toughest and craziest races – La Ultra – The High.

This documentary isn’t just about a race; it’s a testament to human passion and resilience. The 60-minute film showcases ultra-runners achieving the tough task of running at Ladakh’s 17,582 ft while battling rapidly changing weather, in August 2019.

Moving Mountains Within, includes distances of 55, 111, 222, 333, and an astounding 555 km. In this desert-like terrain, where ordinary people struggle to breathe and risk dying from altitude sickness, some runners attempted to complete 555 km in 132 hours for the first time, making it amongst one of the toughest races in the world. The runners include Mathew Maday (555 km participant) and Cassendra Turner (222 km), a couple from the US who are successful entrepreneurs; Jason Reardon (555 km), an ex-military man from Australia; Ashish Kasodekar (555 km), a 40-year-old runner from India who previously completed 333 km in La Ultra 2018; Shikha Pahwa (222 km), a restaurant owner from Delhi; and Lukasz Sagan, who left his job to train for La Ultra.

What makes the race truly unique is that there is no prize money or reward – the runners are driven to achieve the impossible feat, purely out of their passion for running. The documentary beautifully captures the camaraderie and smiles among the runners while also portraying how they brave heavy snowfall, physical breakdowns, and mental challenges to power on triumphantly.

Naved Shaikh did not mince words to hide away his dislike towards the way they treated women around them. In an interview with DNA, he condemned such behaviour of men towards women, as he said, “Unko samajna chaiye ki ladkiyon se kaisi baat karni chahiye. Ladkiyon se tehzeeb se baat karni chaiye, within the lines baat honi chaiye. Aur agar aap line cross karte ho, toh woh aapki galti hai. Aap national television pe agar aisa kar rahe ho toh aapko thodi akal honi chaiye (They should know how to speak to a woman. Women should be treated with respects but a line should be maintained, even during an argument. If you are crossing that line, then it’s your own fault. If you are doing something like this on national television, you should have some sense and should try to avoid it).”

The suspense finale of Kalki 2898 AD left spectators anxious for more, but the wait will be short because work on the sequel is already started.

Director Nag Ashwin confirms, “Yes, work is happening on the second one. We had shot portions of it in the earlier schedules when part one was being filmed. We shot for about 20 days. But there’s still a long way to go in terms of planning and thinking.” He added, “However, the second part should hopefully take lesser time to complete and release than the first one.”

Kalki 2898 AD took about five years to develop due to the groundbreaking visual effects required to bring its planet to life. The film, which was released in June, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Kamal Hassan in leading roles.

The filmmaker was inspired by the Mahabharata for the film’s plot, and he says the second episode will continue the story.

Ashwim said, “What we chose to do and the way we did it, such a situation didn’t arise,” he continued, “It didn’t come to a point where we had to be overtly cautious. What’s written in Mahabharata, we kept it straightforward that way.”

Ashwin added that he felt it was the right time to enlighten audience in our country to our own stories. “I felt it was the right time to tell this story. There is a huge audience in our country- not just in cities, but smaller towns who embrace stories like Marvel and Star Wars. I felt we should explore our homegrown superheroes, it is very Indian,” Ashwin wraps up.

Sonam Kapoor is once again the first Indian star to speak out on a political issue. On Monday, she shared a post on Instagram about the upheaval in Bangladesh, calling it ‘awful’. Bangladesh has been rocked by protests and violence since last month, when student organizations demanded the removal of a contentious quota system in government positions.

Sonam reposted The Juggernaut’s Instagram post, which detailed how 66 people perished in a single day during the confrontations. “This is terrible. Let us all pray for Bangladeshi people,” Sonam wrote. The death toll has now reached 100.

On Sunday, police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse tens of thousands of protesters, at least 91 people were killed and 100 injured.  A statewide curfew was imposed beginning Sunday evening, train services were suspended, and the country’s vast textile industry was shut down

The protests turned into a movement to depose Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was re-elected for a fourth term in a boycotted election in January.

The death toll from Sunday’s protests, which included at least 13 police officers, was the biggest for a single day in Bangladesh’s recent history, topping the 67 deaths reported on July 19 when students protested quotas.

On Sunday, the government issued an indefinite statewide curfew beginning at 6 p.m. (1200 GMT), as well as a three-day general holiday starting from Monday.

Tasked with unscrewing bolts and grabbing flags while covered in a swarm of bees, Shinde channelled her inner Marathi mulgi, blurting out hilarious slang as she swatted her way to victory. As the second week rolled in with new rules emphasizing the importance of stunt order, Shinde found herself in hot water. Her suggestion that seniors should take the lead sparked a rebellion among the show’s newcomers, leading to a huge spat. Despite her efforts and antics, Shinde’s tryst came to an unexpected end, when she got eliminated due to a shock stunt.

Madhuri Dixit-Nene is reportedly set to venture into uncharted territory. The actor, who made her digital debut with the intriguing thriller The Fame Game, is now in talks to play a serial killer in a new web series helmed by the acclaimed director, Nagesh Kukunoor.

Madhuri Dixit To Play A Serial Killer? 
Titled Mrs Deshpande, the series is a psychological thriller that revolves around a unique premise. It explores the idea of the police enlisting a convicted serial killer to assist in profiling and apprehending another serial killer on the loose. The show is reportedly an adaptation of a French series.

A report by Mid-Day quoted a source saying, “The show tells the story of how the police hire a serial killer and pick her brains to understand another serial killer’s modus operandi and nab him. The show is a remake of a French series.” The source further added, “The casting is underway. The team is excited to present Madhuri in a dark role.”

If everything falls into place, Nagesh Kukunoor will make a comeback to the digital space after his stint with Modern Love Hyderabad. Known for his sensitive storytelling, Kukunoor’s association with a dark thriller promises to be an intriguing combination. However, fans have to wait for an official announcement to confirm the same. 

Meanwhile, the ‘Dhak Dhak’ girl is currently gearing up for the celebrations of her 40 years in showbiz. A few days back, she announced that she would be touring the USA from August 8 to August 11, 2024, in a special four-city tour aptly titled ‘The Forever Queen of Bollywood – Madhuri Dixit.’ She will visit New York, Dallas, New Jersey, and Atlanta.
