Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat are set to unleash their inner heist masters in the upcoming film Jewel Thief – The Red Sun Chapter. The project, produced by Siddharth Anand and directed by Robbie Grewal, promises a thrilling tale of international intrigue and high-stakes robbery.

According to a report in Mid-day, the film’s journey began in Mumbai, where an extensive shooting schedule captured the bustling energy of the city. This initial phase laid the groundwork for the complex heist at the center of the story. Report suggests that Khan and Ahlawat’s characters will find themselves on opposite sides of the law, their rivalry fueling the narrative.

Following the Mumbai leg, the production team embarked on a European adventure, taking the story to the picturesque locales of Budapest, Hungary. Khan, Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor, and Nikita Dutta all joined forces for this international shoot. While Budapest served as the backdrop for some captivating song sequences featuring Khan and Dutta, it also witnessed the filming of thrilling chase sequences.

An inside source revealed, “The final leg began on May 18 as they filmed songs featuring Saif and Nikita against the picturesque locales of Budapest. Some action-packed chase sequences were also canned in the 10-day stint. Robbie has envisioned Jewel Thief as a slick heist thriller, with the leading man sporting a suave look, complete with a ponytail. Saif has also built a chiselled, six-pack physique, for which he has been working out since last year.”

With the international schedule wrapped up in late May, the film nears completion. A brief patchwork shoot will take place in Mumbai next month, focusing on capturing cityscapes and car sequences. The source adds, “It will be only a few days of filming that will include some city and car shots. Robbie is currently neck-deep in post-production and wants to wrap it up by October.”

Jewel Thief – The Red Sun Chapter marks a significant reunion for Siddharth Anand and Saif Ali Khan. The duo last collaborated on the 2007 film Ta Ra Rum Pum. The film’s screenplay is penned by Grewal, Anand, and Sambit Mishra.

The much-awaited trailer for the horror-comedy sequel, Stree 2, is finally dropping this Thursday, July 18. The film marks the return of Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee to the sequel. This news comes with an added treat – the trailer will be attached to Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk’s upcoming film, Bad Newz, hitting theatres soon.

The 2018 film Stree took audiences by storm, weaving a delightful blend of scares and humour. Set in a small town haunted by a vengeful spirit known simply as “Stree,” the film saw Shraddha Kapoor playing a tailor named Stree who uncovers the town’s chilling secret. Rajkummar Rao played her love interest, drawn into the mystery, while Pankaj Tripathi delivered a memorable performance as the resident soothsayer. The film, directed by Amar Kaushik, became a sleeper hit, captivating audiences with its unique blend of genres.

To further pique the fans’ curiosity, a teaser for Stree 2 was released in June 2024. It showcased the original characters embarking on another spooky adventure, determined to protect the town of Chanderi from a fresh wave of demonic occurrences. Meanwhile, directed by Anand Tiwari, Bad Newz promises to be a hilarious rom-com with a unique twist. And it seems that their wish has been granted since the duo will feature in one such rain romance fantasy sequence as Rajveer and Palki on their ongoing Zee TV show Kumkum Bhagya.

Talking about the sequence, Paras Kalnawat said, “Shooting a romantic dance sequence in the rains has always been a dream, and shooting for this particular sequence was a ‘dream come true’. I felt surreal, as it came to life amidst the Mumbai rains. I have grown up watching Bollywood films, and obviously, as an actor, I always wanted to shoot something like this.”

Adrija Roy said, “I love the monsoon season and I was really excited when I got to know that Paras and I were going to shoot a scene in the rains. It was a cute moment where my character, Palki comes out of the jail and hugs Rajveer (Paras). Shooting in that weather was indeed very challenging, but seeing the team being content with the shot made us really happy, and I think our hard work paid off.” It will be interesting to see how the viewers react to Paras and Adrija living their dream sequence amidst the Mumbai rains.

Titled Bheema, the show attempts to bring the fight started by the respected Dr. Ambedkar. Set in the 1980s, &TV’s new show Bheema, produced by Raj Khatri Productions, follows the story of a young girl named ‘Bheema’ from the other community.

The first look promo of the show was recently unveiled on social media which gives us a glimpse of the struggle and the mistreatment the girl faces for belonging to a different community. The story further focuses on this young girl’s predicament and her journey toward equal rights. The audience will witness her courageous journey as she battles adversities stemming from her family, society, and economic conditions. Despite facing numerous injustices and discrimination, she fearlessly strives to overcome these obstacles.

The promo also drops a hint about Bheema’s resolve to uphold the laws and ideals of Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian constitution, as she pledges her unwavering commitment towards the society despite the challenges. At a tender age, she dedicates herself sincerely to this mission. However, the dominant class in society, threatened by her pursuit, unites with unprecedented force to thwart her efforts. Yet, Bheema’s determination remains unshaken, even as obstacles mount, intensifying the conflict.

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar will miss the highly anticipated wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant due to a positive COVID-19 test. This is not the first time Kumar has contracted the virus. He previously tested positive in April 2021 and was hospitalized. In 2022, another positive test forced him to miss the Cannes Film Festival in France.

Feeling Unwell During Promotions
Sources close to the actor revealed to India Today that Kumar had been experiencing unwellness for the past two days while traveling for promotions of his latest film, Sarfira. Following a test, the results confirmed a positive COVID-19 diagnosis. Kumar is currently isolated and following all necessary health protocols.
Positive Test on Wedding Day
Reportedly, Kumar received the positive test result on the morning of July 12, the same day as the Ambani-Merchant wedding ceremony. This resulted in him missing not only the wedding but also the final leg of promotions for Sarfira, which released in theaters today.
Grand Wedding Festivities
The Ambani-Merchant wedding is a multi-day affair, with events including the “Shubh Vivaah” ceremony on July 12, followed by “Shubh Aashirwad” on July 13. A grand reception will take place on July 14, with another reception scheduled for July 15.

The star-studded guest list includes celebrities like John Cena, Mike Tyson, and Jean-Claude Van Damme, along with prominent figures such as motivational speaker Jay Shetty, former British Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, former US Secretary of State John Kerry, and former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Sarfira Release Unaffected
Despite Kumar’s absence from promotions due to COVID-19, Sarfira premiered in theaters as planned on July 12. The film is an official adaptation of the successful 2020 Tamil film Soorarai Pottru. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the movie features Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madan in supporting roles, with a cameo appearance by Suriya.
