Aditya Roy Kapur is all set for yet another action genre project. After delivering impressive action sequences in films like Rashtra Kavach Om (2022) and Gumraah (2023), he captivated audiences with his portrayal in the high-octane series The Night Manager (2023). Now, Kapur is gearing up for his next action project, slated to begin filming later this year.

According to a report in Mid-Day, to prepare for this demanding role, Kapur has embarked on a rigorous physical training regimen, with a focus on mixed martial arts (MMA). According to a source close to the project, Kapur has been working diligently with celebrity fitness trainer Rohit Nair for several weeks now. “Aditya has always been dedicated to fitness, but this role requires him to be well-versed in MMA,” the source reveals. “He started training with Rohit a few weeks back and is determined to bring complete authenticity to the part. He will continue this intensive training for the next two months before filming commences.”

Nair, who has previously trained actors like Ali Fazal and Mrunal Thakur, has designed a customized program specifically for Kapur. The focus is on kickboxing and MMA techniques, aiming to not only equip Kapur with the necessary combat skills for the role but also enhance his overall physical prowess.

Nair expressed his enthusiasm about working with Kapur, stating, “Aditya is incredibly dedicated and disciplined. His commitment to achieving his fitness goals is truly inspiring. I’m thrilled to be collaborating with him on this project.”

Aditya Roy Kapur’s next project is reportedly with directors Raj & DK. The web series is titled Rakhtabeej. Aditya will be leading the show and sharing the screen with Samantha Ruth Prabhu, reuniting her with the director duo after their successful collaborations on The Family Man 2 and the upcoming Citadel: Honey Bunny.

Just last month, Aditya Sarpotdar delivered the sleeper super hit of the year – Munjya. This month, he’s back with another horror comedy, Kakuda. The new release, however, has gone straight to digital. Yet, it had to undergo the censor process and also receive some cuts.

As per the cut list, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed the film with a U/A certificate. However, the Examining Committee asked the makers to remove the abusive words ‘harami’ and ‘c*****a’. These cuss terms were replaced with censor-appropriate terms. In a scene in the first half, the word ‘Hanuman’ was also removed.

Meanwhile, the CBFC also asked the makers to remove the word ‘tits’. The makers replaced it with ‘kids’. The said term was used in a scene where the characters read out an essay on cows. The original dialogue reads, “It has four legs, one tail and four tits”. One of the characters is even seen hesitating before uttering “tits”. But now with the word being changed to “kids”, it looks awkward to see the hesitation of the character. Amusingly, there’s no replacement for the censored word in the subtitles available on Zee5, where Kakuda has released.

The makers were also instructed to insert a disclaimer on anti-superstition in the beginning. Once these changes were made, the censor certificate was handed to the makers on July 28, 2022. The length of the film, as mentioned on the certificate, is 116 minutes. In other words, Kakuda is 1 hour and 56 minutes long.

Kakuda stars Riteish Deshmukh, Sonakshi Sinha and Saqib Saleem. It is set in a village haunted by a midget ghost. The ghost attacks a newly married man (played by Saqib Salaam). He’s all set to die in 13 days. Not ready to take things lying down, his wife (Sonakshi Sinha) asks for help from a ghost hunter (Riteish Deshmukh).

Sonakshi Sinha is all set to complete 14 years as an actor in Bollywood this year in September. In these years, she played varied roles but it was only in 2024 that she played a dual role for the first time in her much-talked-about web series, Heeramandi. And now it has come to light that she has a double role in her latest release, Kakuda as well.

Kakuda is a horror comedy directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of Munjya (2024) fame. Released directly on Zee5, it is set in a village haunted by a midget ghost. The ghost attacks a newly married man, Sunny (played by Saqib Salaam). He’s all set to die in 13 days. Not ready to take things lying down, his wife Indira aka Indu (Sonakshi Sinha) asks for help from a ghost hunter, Victor Jacobs (Riteish Deshmukh).

Very soon in the film, viewers get to know that Indu has a twin sister by the name of Gomati. The twin sister angle makes for an interesting addition and forms an important plot point, especially in the film’s second half.

In Heeramandi, meanwhile, Sonakshi Sinha played the role of Rehana and that of her daughter Fareedan. But in this Netflix show directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, both characters never appear together. That’s not the case in Kakuda and many scenes feature two Sonakshi’s on the screen.

Kakuda is also Sonakshi Sinha’s first release after her marriage with her long-time boyfriend and actor Zaheer Iqbal. The wedding was a star-studded affair and also led to some controversies due to protests in Bihar and brother Luv Sinha’s comments on Zaheer on the microblogging platform X, which he later deleted.

Before Heeramandi, Sonakshi Sinha’s first release of 2024 was Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, in which she was seen in a supporting role. Her upcoming release is Nikita Roy And The Book Of Darkness, directed by her brother Kussh Sinha.

Anil Kapoor has been roped in to play the head of R&AW in the Aditya Chopra curated YRF Spy Universe. The actor joins an impressive lineup of stars including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Hrithik Roshan. Over the last decade, Aditya Chopra has established the YRF Spy Universe as one of the biggest IPs in Indian cinemas, bringing together top stars under one roof.

A multi-film contract
According to a report by Pinkvilla, Anil Kapoor has signed a multi-film contract with YRF Spy Universe. “Anil Kapoor is bowled over by the vision of Aditya Chopra for the Spy Universe and took no time to sign the dotted lines for the part,” a source told the publication. Kapoor’s journey begins with an appearance in War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr., and Kiara Advani. This will be followed by Alpha, featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, and eventually lead to Pathaan 2 with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.

A key figure in the spy universe
Anil Kapoor’s role as the head of R&AW will make him a constant presence in all spy films within the universe. The YRF Spy Universe is continually expanding, with several films in development at YRF’s writing wing, including the highly anticipated Tiger vs Pathaan, which will feature a face-off between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya were on a romantic European getaway to celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary. The couple had been sharing stunning pictures and videos on their social media from their trip to Europe, showcasing the amazing time they were having. However, their joy was abruptly interrupted when they fell victim to a theft in Florence, Italy.

Theft of valuables including passports
The actors, who had just arrived in Florence, were planning to explore the city. They parked their car and left their belongings inside while checking out a property they liked. Upon returning, they were devastated to find that the car had been broken into. Their passports, wallets, money, shopping, and other valuable items, totaling approximately Rs. 10 lakh, were stolen. Fortunately, the thieves left behind some old clothes and food items.

Lack of assistance from local authorities
Vivek Dahiya shared their ordeal in an interview with the Times of India. He revealed they had asked the local police for help, but their case was dismissed. The police explained that without CCTV cameras in the area, they couldn’t assist them. The couple also tried contacting the Indian embassy, only to find it had closed for the day, leaving them in a dire situation.

Stranded and in need of urgent help
Currently, Divyanka and Vivek are in a small town near Florence, where the hotel staff have been supportive. However, they are stuck without any cash and urgently require assistance from the embassy. “We require temporary passports and substantial help from the embassy to get back to India, as we have nothing with us,” Vivek said, appealing for immediate aid.

The road ahead
The couple’s situation underscores the importance of safeguarding personal belongings while traveling and the challenges faced when seeking assistance abroad. Their fans and well-wishers are hopeful that the embassy will soon intervene to help them return home safely. For now, Divyanka and Vivek remain in limbo, awaiting the crucial help they need to end their European nightmare.

According to the report, the critically acclaimed director has seen Triptii’s work and found her to be an ideal choice for this emotionally taxing character opposite Dhanush’s angry young man, Shankar, in this A.R. Rahman musical.

Described as a tragic love story set in a similar world as Raanjhanaa, Tere Ishk Mein promises to captivate audiences with its complex storyline filled with romance and varied emotions. The film is finally moving forward, over a year after it was formally announced on Raanjhanaa’s tenth anniversary in June 2023. The production was reportedly delayed due to Dhanush’s southern commitments, which he had to complete before heading to North India to concentrate on his fourth Hindi movie. The film is now scheduled to get off the ground in October 2024 and will be filmed primarily in Varanasi and other parts of Uttar Pradesh over two months.

Currently, Triptii is awaiting the release of Dharma Productions’ Bad Newz with Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk. The Anand Tiwari-directed romantic comedy has generated terrific buzz thanks to its hit trailer and chartbuster music. It is scheduled to release on July 19.

Following this, Triptii will be seen alongside Rajkummar Rao in Raaj Shaandilyaa’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and Anees Bazmee’s much-awaited Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Kartik Aaryan on the Diwali 2024 weekend. She also has one more love story, Dhadak 2 with Siddhant Chaturvedi, slated for release on November 22.
