Bollywood Hungama was one of the first ones to break the news earlier this week that the teaser of the much-awaited horror film, Stree 2, will be out on Friday, June 14. We also informed readers that the teaser will first be unveiled in cinemas withMunjya and later on, it’ll have a digital launch. The makers kept their promise and have attached the Stree 2 teaser with the prints of their recent release from today. What has caught the attention of the moviegoers is the sizzling surprise appearance of Tamannaah Bhatia in the teaser.

The teaser doesn’t give much idea of the plot but makes it clear that the makers have upped the horror quotient. The teaser ends with a funny moment, involving a horrified Rajkummar Rao. In between, Tamannaah Bhatia is seen in a blink-and-miss avatar. The dance number, depicted in the teaser, also seems to be centred around her. Netizens, however, are confused about it as it’s shown in a long shot, just for a few seconds. The shot of Tamannaah standing scared, however, is very noticeable. The fan clubs of the actress have already started sharing her still from the teaser.

Stree’s first part was released in 2018. It starred Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor and marked the beginning of the Maddock Supernatural Universe. The horror comedy opened with a bang and went on to collect Rs. 129.90 crores at the domestic box office. Bhediya(2022), meanwhile, featured Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon while Munjya (2024) starred Sharvari and Abhay Verma. Interestingly, Varun featured in an exciting cameo in Munjya while Rajkummar Rao was seen in a special appearance in Bhediya.

Stree 2 brings back Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor along with Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee. Directed by Amar Kaushik, it is slated to release in cinemas on August 30.

Shah Rukh Khan, who has reestablished his super stardom after making a comeback in 2023, has another major news to celebrate. The whisky brand, he co-owns along with his son Aryan Khan and others, called D’YAVOL has garnered a gold medal for its rich quality and unique blend of flavours at the International Spirits Challenge 2024. The actor, who seems to be on a winning streak this year, opened up about his recent win.

In a statement to ETimes, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his gratitude towards the patrons as well as thanked his team for their hard work. He said, “I’m thrilled to see the D’YAVOL Luxury Collective receiving accolades from our patrons. This gold medal is the result of all the hard work and passion of the whole team, and I’m sure it’s the first of many to come.” Joining him was also one of the co-founders, Bunty Singh who shared, “I am proud that D’YAVOL’s liquid credentials are being validated by securing medals in prestigious competitions. It is particularly gratifying that these are awarded to our core expressions, which are readily available for consumers to try, and not for limited edition products and exclusive bottlings.”

Drashti Dhami has been a prominent figure in Indian television for years. She made her acting debut with the hit TV show Dill Mill Gayye, which was on air from 2007 to 2009. In 2008, she participated in the reality show Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket. Yash Raj Films and Netflix are challenging the Stay Order on Maharaj, multiple industry sources confirmed Bollywood Hungama. The Gujarat High Court had issued a stay on the release of Maharaj yesterday, that is, June 13, a day before it was set to stream on Netflix, the number one global streaming platform.

A reputed, veteran trade source says, “YRF and Netflix are challenging the Stay order. The matter is in court. Maharaj is based on a real-life case and it is adapted from Saurabh Shah’s book titled ‘Maharaj’. The author has also come out to say that the film does not vilify the Vaishnav community or the religion. It is about a social reformer, who brought about a positive change in society. The makers are hopeful for a positive outcome in this case.”

Maharaj has been directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, of Hichki (2018) fame and it stars Junaid Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat and Shalini Pandey. It also features Sharvari, who was recently seen in the sleeper hit Munjya, in a crucial role. Maharaj marks the acting debut of Aamir Khan’s Junaid. The young actor has two more films lined up. Shalini Pandey, meanwhile, climbed to fame with her top-notch performance in Arjun Reddy (2017). She was also seen in Ranveer Singh’s social comedy, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which was also produced by Yash Raj Films.

Maharaj marks the first film of Yash Raj Films to release directly on OTT under YRF Entertainment. This vertical began with a bang with The Railway Men, set during the 1984 Bhopal Gas tragedy. Starring Kay Kay Menon, R Madhavan, Divyenndu and Babil Khan, this Netflix web series, directed by debutant Shiv Rawail, was a huge success and was at 146th rank in terms of viewership of all shows on the streaming giant between July and December 2023.

Sunny Deol, who resurrected to immense stardom followed by the stupendous success of Gadar 2, is all set to revive some of his older franchises. Among them is Border which received much accolades and appreciation when it released in 1997. Now 27 years later, the makers have announced a sequel which will release almost 29 years after the original one. On June 14, the makers locked the release date of Border 2 which will release in January 2026.

After unveiling an announcement video, confirming the making of Border 2 starring Sunny Deol in the lead on June 13, on Friday, the makers T-Series shared another major announcement. They revealed that the film would be releasing on January 23 in 2026 to commemorate the occasion of India’s 77th Republic Day. While January 26 falls on a Monday, the film will release three days prior on Friday, cashing in on the extended holiday weekend since Monday will be a National Holiday.  Considering the patriotic fever which will be at an all-time high during this period and the success of its prequel, the release date is expected to have a perfect timing.

On June 9, Ameesha Patel turned a year older and amid celebrating life and her recent successes, the actress revealed an interesting update about her upcoming film Humraaz 2 to Bollywood Hungama. For the unversed, in February this year, there were reports about filmmakers Abbas – Mustan planning to work on a sequel to 2002 cult suspense-thriller, which featured Ameesha as the leading lady along with Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles.

Now speaking about the film, Ameesha Patel confirmed that they are indeed they are planning to make a sequel to Humraaz and in fact, she has also kicked off a discussion with the filmmakers. “Well, Humraaz 2 is on the cards, and it’ll definitely happen. In fact, I met the directors Abbas and Mustan Bhai also a couple of days ago, or weeks ago. They were like, you know, we crack a script and then we want to elevate it to another level. So, they’re in the processes of fine tuning that, and you’ll hear the announcement when they’re ready, very soon,” she told Bollywood Hungama.

While it seems that Ameesha is already a part of the second instalment, Bobby Deol, who is currently a busy star post the stupendous success of Animal, is yet to open up about whether he will be returning to the franchise. As of now, the antagonist of the first instalment Akshaye Khanna too has not opened up about the sequel either.

Meanwhile, Ameesha Patel also revealed that her Gadar director Anil Sharma too is keen on taking the franchise ahead after the sequel entered the Rs. 200 crore club in 2023. While she asserted that Gadar 3 too is in the pipeline, details of the same is also under wraps.
