Two films, featuring popular on-screen pairings, are returning to the big screen on May 24. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani (2023) starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt will be re-released in the theatres. The Karan Johar directorial is a romantic comedy which released last year in July. Singh and Bhatt reunited after their sparkling chemistry in films like Gully Boy. The film also boasts a stellar supporting cast with veteran actors Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani marked the return of Karan Johar as a director after seven years. The film also starred Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, Kshitee Jog and Anjali Anand.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Delhi, the film features Rocky Randhawa (Ranveer Singh), a flamboyant Punjabi boy, and Rani Chatterjee (Alia Bhatt), an intellectual Bengali journalist, who find themselves drawn to each other despite their contrasting personalities and backgrounds. As their love deepens, Rocky and Rani face disapproval from their families, who struggle to reconcile their differences. Rocky’s boisterous Punjabi family clashes with Rani’s refined Bengali household, leading to comical misunderstandings and cultural clashes.

Another film set for the theatrical re-release is Tamasha, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. This Imtiaz Ali-directed film is known for its picturesque locations, soulful music, and love story that explores the complexities of relationships. Kapoor and Padukone’s undeniable chemistry is a major highlight of the film.

Released in 2015, the story follows Ved (Ranbir Kapoor), a carefree traveller, and Tara (Deepika Padukone), a spirited girl, who meet on a vacation in Corsica. Their contrasting personalities lead to a whirlwind romance, but upon returning to their real lives, they face challenges that threaten their connection. Tamasha explores themes of self-discovery, following your dreams, and the power of love.

Marathi film Ved, starring Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’souza, will also hit the theaters tomorrow. Satya (Riteish Deshmukh) harbors a deep-seated heartbreak. His childhood sweetheart, Nisha (Jiya Shankar), left him unexpectedly, leaving a void filled only by alcohol. Despite his father’s urging, he marries his neighbor Shravani (Genelia D’Souza), who has loved him silently for years. However, Satya remains emotionally unavailable, clinging to memories of Nisha. Shravani, kind and supportive, becomes the financial pillar of the household while Satya drowns his sorrows. One day, Nisha’s orphaned daughter arrives, seeking a home. Satya agrees, but only on the condition that he can adopt her. Will this bring him closure or reignite a forbidden love? Can Shravani’s unwavering love win him over, or will the past continue to cast a shadow on their present? Helmed by Riteish, the film released in 2022 in theatres.

The re-release of these films is a strategic move by the studios to capitalize on the current trend of audiences returning to theaters post-pandemic and the lack of big releases in May 2024. Additionally, with both films featuring popular star pairings, the re-release is expected to draw in not just fans who may have missed them initially, but also a new generation of viewers eager to experience these on the big screen.

Featuring an ensemble cast, Kalank was one of the most ambitious films of Karan Johar, who produced it under his banner Dharma Productions. The film, while failed to attract the masses, received lots of love for its music. And now, almost five years later, the prestigious social media handle of The Academy has given a shoutout to one of the kathak-dance tracks of the film, ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’ which is picturized on the film’s leading lady Alia Bhatt.

The said song ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’ is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and features a heartfelt performance of Roop aka Alia Bhatt who showcased her skills to her mentor Bahaar Begum, played by Madhuri Dixit. The song not only seems to have won the hearts of Indians but many across the globe. On May 23, the official Instagram page of The Academy shared a glimpse of the song’s video, saying, “Alia Bhatt performing “Ghar More Pardesiya” (vocals by Shreya Ghoshal with Vaishali Mhade) from the film ‘Kalank.’” With lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the song is composed by Pritam Chakraborty.

Followed by this post, many social media users expressed their happiness as they couldn’t stop praising the Indian singer Shreya Ghoshal. “Shreya Ghoshal’s voice can create magic”, “Shreya Ghoshal is simply incredible”, “After Deewani Mastani now Ghar More Pardesiya getting recognised. Sometimes speculative rumour-driven entertainment stories can be anything but entertaining for the party concerned. A seriously damaging report doing the rounds is that producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious take on the Ramayana has been stalled due to a legal copyright-infringement issue.

However, one of the actors from the movie on condition of anonymity told us the truth. “Who says the shooting was halted? The shooting was not halted for even a day. In fact, we are shooting as I speak to you. Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi and all of us are participating in the shooting right now. Who spreads these negative rumours, and why? What do they get out of it? Here we are trying to make something that would bring us global glory. Instead of encouraging us there are negative stories about the Ramayan every day,” said the actor.

Making the situation worse is the fact that the producers (Yash, Namit Malhotra) are not issuing any official statements on the project.

“I’ve no clue why they are so quiet about the project. They should give some clarity on the project by now. Their silence is fuelling damaging rumours,” said the actor from Ramayana.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is recovering well after suffering a heat stroke during a recent IPL match, according to his close friend and fellow actor Juhi Chawla. Khan was admitted to Ahmedabad’s KD Hospital following the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) match on Tuesday.

News of Khan’s hospitalization spread quickly, leaving fans concerned. However, Juhi Chawla provided an update with News18, where she said, “Shah Rukh was not feeling too well last night but he is being attended to and was feeling much better this evening. God willing, he will soon be up and in the stands on the weekend, cheering the team, as we play the finals.”

Khan, along with his children Suhana and AbRam, and manager Pooja Dadlani, attended the match at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta, who co-own KKR with Khan, were also spotted leaving the hospital but did not interact with waiting media.

Meanwhile, Khan’s wife Gauri Khan arrived at the hospital shortly after news of his hospitalization broke. Suhana Khan, however, returned to Mumbai, photographed with friends Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, and Navya Nanda at a private airport.

Fans and well-wishers across the globe have been sending their best for a speedy recovery and hoping to see him cheering on KKR in the upcoming finals.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was hospitalized for heatstroke on Wednesday afternoon in Ahmedabad, India. Reportedly, the incident occurred during the Indian Premier League (IPL) qualifier match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), his team, and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

SRK, who arrived in Ahmedabad on Monday to support his team, reportedly experienced heatstroke after spending two days in the city.  Following the match on Tuesday, he returned to his hotel late at night but his health deteriorated the next morning, leading to his hospitalization at KD Hospital.

Fortunately, Shah Rukh received prompt medical attention and was discharged after receiving first aid.  Sources confirm his condition has improved, and he is currently stable. However, prioritizing his health, he has postponed his planned return trip to Mumbai to ensure proper rest and recuperation.

However, neither the actor nor his team has confirmed the news.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the second film in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, became a saviour for the Bollywood industry in 2022 when not many films were tasting success. The team of producer Bhushan Kumar, director Anees Bazmee and actor Kartik Aaryan are now all set to return with the third film in the horror comedy series titled Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

There were some recent rumours about the film’s Diwali release being doubtful. However, Bollywood Hungama has learnt that there is no change of release for the film and the team is all set to present it in front of the audience as scheduled on Diwali.

According to a source, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 remains steadfast on its Diwali release, promising a joyous Diwali treat from Anees Bazmee and Bhushan Kumar. Currently, the team is shooting the climax, with completion anticipated within the next 7 to 10 days. Despite being confined to a wheelchair throughout the shoot, Bazmee demonstrates an unwavering determination to meet the deadline. Additionally, Kartik Aaryan is juggling the demands of promoting Chandu Champion alongside his commitment to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, leaving no stone unturned to finish the film’s schedule on time.”

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 earned close to Rs. 200 crores in India alone. Hence, there are expectations for the third film, both in terms of content and box office. The third instalment also stars Vidya Balan, who was an integral part in the first film released in 2007, along with Tripti Dimri.
