Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all set to enthrall audiences in a brand new avatar! His next film, titled King, promises to be a raw and action-packed thriller with a complex twist. King marks the much-anticipated silver screen debut of Suhana Khan, SRK’s daughter. It was reported earlier that Khan will portray a powerful don with a ‘shades of grey’ personality, reminiscent of his iconic roles in Darr, Anjaam, and Raees. This character, described as “intriguing” and “cool,” caters to the audience’s desire to see him in darker roles. Details about Suhana’s character are under wraps, but reports suggest she’ll play the role of Khan’s ‘disciple’, hinting at a unique mentor-protégé dynamic within the film’s dangerous world.

Following the blockbuster success of Jawan, with King, Shah Rukh Khan will reunite with music director Anirudh Ravichander. Anirudh is said to be composing a unique score that complements the film’s action-packed narrative. King is a passion project for Khan, where he’s heavily involved in development alongside co-producer Siddharth Anand and director Sujoy Ghosh. They’re crafting a character that’s both ruthless and stylish. Khan is said to be overseeing the creative process, even participating in action sequence training with his co-star, Suhana Khan.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source revealed, “King is a one of its kind action thrillers, that will introduce a new flavour of action to the audience. Shah Rukh Khan, Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh understand the importance of BGM for a film in this space and have roped in the best in business – Anirudh.”

King is envisioned as a fast-paced action extravaganza unlike anything seen before. The makers are aiming for a “raw and rustic” feel with a hefty budget of Rs. 200 crores. Pre-production has been underway for a year, meticulously crafting every aspect from script to action sequences.

Siddharth Anand is reportedly bringing in international stunt directors for a global appeal. The action sequences will be a hybrid of real stunts and VFX enhancements, promising a visually stunning experience. “The pre-production work for King has already begun and the makers are aiming to take the film on floors by August 2024. There is a possibility of an announcement via a proper video asset and Anirudh is already working on the theme music for the film,” the source added.

Bollywood Hungama earlier reported that Shah Rukh Khan himself is overseeing the creative process and even training with Suhana for some of the film’s action sequences. “King is an ambitious action film, unlike anyone’s imagination. The team has been working on the pre-production for the last one year to ensure that all aspects are covered in the right way – from script, to scale and action. Red Chillies Entertainment has always mounted world-class products and King will be no different as the banner is going all out to ensure a grand debut for Suhana Khan,” a source said.

The source further informed that Siddharth Anand is in talks with stunt directors from the West to come on board King. “Siddharth Anand thinks internationally, and with SRK, he wants to make a global action thriller. He is designing stunts with the stunt experts from the West, and plans to shoot it as a hybrid of real action and VFX enhancements,” the source told us further.

Filming is expected to begin in May 2024 and continue for five months. The highly anticipated movie is slated for a theatrical release in the second half of 2025.

Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi- starrer Ramayana’s shoot has been going on in Mumbai for quite a while now. However, the filming of the movie might take place beyond the schedule that had been finalized by the team earlier.

After the pictures on set were leaked, the Ramayana team has decided to tighten up the surveillance by covering up the set and film indoors to avoid any details being leaked.
“The producers didn’t want any glimpses of the film to come out before an official announcement, and despite trying their best – including opting for a no-phone policy on set – shutterbugs managed to click pictures of Ranbir and Sai’s looks from the film. Curtains have been put all around and the surveillance has been tightened to avoid further leaks,” a source told News18.

According to the reports, working title of the film is also out. Although there has not been any official announcement about the title, according to the source the working title of Ramayana is reportedly God Power.

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as the role of Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. Lara Dutta, Sunny Deol and Sheeba Chaddha will also be seen as Kaikeyi, Hanuman and Manthara respectively. Moreover, the official announcement by the makers with respect to the film is yet to made.

Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has been in news ever since its release. The grandeur of this Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, as the filmmaker makes his big web-series debut, and the performances by actresses and actors have been receiving a lot of love from industry insiders as well as audiences too. However, it is SLB’s niece Sharmin Segal who found herself at the receiving end of trolls as many of them were quite brutal while reviewing her acting chops. Coming in support of the actress, was her co-star Richa Chadha, who essayed the character of Lajjo.

During an interaction, Richa Chadha addressed the matter of Sharmin Segal getting trolled for her performance in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar and she told Pinkvilla, “I think truthfully, it is the audience’s right. It’s the audience’s prerogative that you like the show, you dislike the show. You like a performance, you dislike a performance”. However, the actress also maintained that one needs to be mindful of the fact that it doesn’t hurt the actor. “But what happens today, I think in the era of social media, when people start trolling, making memes, doing all that, that’s a bit hurtful, I think, for anyone. We must never be unkind because it can happen to you tomorrow. And everyone is a human being,” she added.

In the past, Taha Shah Badussha, who essayed the role of Tajdar, who is in love with Sharmin’s character Alamzeb, also came in defence of the actress wherein he stated that her ‘method’ for acting ‘involves being subtle’.

For the unversed, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is a web-series set against the backdrop of pre-Independence that revolves around the lives of courtesans and explores a tale of love, power, betrayal, and freedom, featuring an ensemble cast of Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Pratibha Ranta, Sharmin Segal, among others as courtesans whereas Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, Fardeen Khan, play their patrons along with Taha Shah Badussha as the Nawab. The show is currently streaming on Netflix.

On Friday, Prime Video announced the global streaming premiere of the super hit comedy-drama, Madgaon Express. Headlined by Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, and Avinash Tiwary, the film also features Nora Fatehi, Upendra Limaye, and Chhaya Kadam in pivotal roles. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment. Madgaon Express marks the directorial debut of actor Kunal Kemmu. The film will stream in India and over 240 countries and territories starting May 17.

Arjun Kapoor’s stint as a villain has come to an end! On Wednesday, the actor shared his excitement on social media after completing his filming for the upcoming action flick Singham Again. This marks a significant milestone for Kapoor, who expressed his joy at being part of director Rohit Shetty’s renowned “cop universe.” With Kapoor’s filming wrapped, the baton seems to be passed to Ranveer Singh. Reports suggest Singh has finished a majority of his scenes for the Ajay Devgn-led cop film. The actor is expected to complete his portions by month-end.

According to a report in Mid-day, a source revealed, “There’s some minor patchwork shooting remaining, which will be completed at Film City within the next two weeks.”

This conclusion leaves Singh with a crucial decision – what’s next? Industry insiders hint at three potential projects on his slate: Aditya Dhar’s gangster drama Dhurandhar, Prasanth Varma’s upcoming film, and the highly anticipated Don 3 alongside Farhan Akhtar. The source further stated, “Singh is expected to commence shooting for Aditya’s film in June. He’s also been in talks with Prasanth Varma, known for HanuMan, regarding their next project, tentatively titled Rakshas.”

Rakshas is said to be a mythological film set in the pre-Independence era, with Singh portraying a morally ambiguous character. This unique role has reportedly piqued his interest. By the end of this month, Singh is likely to finalize the details of his next project. The current plan involves wrapping up Dhurandhar in a continuous shoot by July-end, followed by a break in August before diving into Varma’s film in September.

Regarding Dhar’s project, a source told Bollywood Hungama anonymously a month ago, “Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar are very keen to make their first collaboration very special. They want to mount the film like the biggest action thriller set against the backdrop of politics and gang wars. The vision to make this requires a big budget and they are not able to align their vision with their studio partner.”

The source further informed that Aditya Dhar is now taking time off to rework the script and scale down some of the action sequences to bring it into a particular budget structure. “The market is not lucrative as the digital streaming market has come down in the last 2 years. With films not fetching the requisite value of digital rights, the studios have asked a lot of directors to rework their budgets. Aditya Dhar is now working to get budgets in place,” the source said.

The animated flick The Garfield Movie is all set to release in India on Friday, May 17, a week before its release in North America and major markets on May 24. The buzz is tremendous for the film in the West and as per Variety, it’s all set to open at $35 million in the weekend, despite clashing with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. What’s interesting to note is that worldwide, audiences watching The Garfield Movie will see the mention of an Indian production house in the beginning slate and end credits.

It has come to light that Prime Focus, an Indian studio known for delivering VFX in local and international films, is one of the producers of The Garfield Movie. As soon as the film begins, the logo of Prime Focus is displayed along with Sony Pictures, Columbia Pictures, Alcon Entertainment etc. And in the end credits, Namit Malhotra’s name in big bold letters is mentioned as one of the producers.

Interestingly, Prime Focus was also one of the producers of Brahmastra. Released in 2022, this Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer was loved for its concept, performances, music and of course VFX that matched global standards. If all goes well, Prime Focus will also be a part of one of the most awaited films, Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash of KGF fame. However, as per recent reports, Prime Focus is yet to fulfill the payment terms to producer Madhu Mantena.

Prime Focus has delivered VFX in several significant Hollywood films like Harry Potter series, Tenet, Dunkirk, films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe including Avengers: Endgame, Mission Impossible films, Fast & Furious films, movies of the DC Universe, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire etc.

After The Garfield Movie, Prime Focus has also produced Animal Friends, which is a live action-cum-animated film starring Ryan Reynolds and Jason Momoa. It is expected to be released in 2025.

Tips Films’, Ishq Vishk Rebound marks the debut of Hrithik Roshan’s cousin Pashmina Roshan alongside Naila Grrewal, who recently featured in the web-series Mamla Legal Hai and actor Jibraan Khan. From Bigg Boss to Junooniyatt, Gautam Vig has become a renowned household name, courtesy his role as the obsessed Jordan in the Colors serial. Sources state that the untitled show is produced under the banner of Full Focus Entertainment and is expected to premiere next month. The source also went on to state how the supernatural thriller is an unexplored genre for Gautam Vig and added, “Gautam is celebrated for his versatile acting skills, and now he is set to play the lead character in Star Bharat’s new show. This role marks a first-time experience for him, promising to be both interesting and intriguing. The show is expected to premiere in mid-June 2024.”

While this supernatural thriller is expected to bring a fresh and exciting storyline to Star Bharat’s audience, along with a fresh pairing on screen, it is being said the series will explore supernatural elements which will keep viewers on the edge of their seats along with a promise that it will feature Gautam in a role which will showcase a different facet of his acting abilities.

Rakhi Sawant’s hospitalization for health concerns has taken a dramatic turn. After being hospitalized for chest pain and uterine issues, her ex-husband Adil Khan Durrani cast doubt on the situation, claiming it’s a ploy to avoid an upcoming court hearing. In a fresh update, Rakhi’s advocate Falguni Brahmabhatt has refuted Adil’s claims and shared details on Rakhi’s condition in an interview with ETimes TV.

Falguni said, “Rakhi has medical issues, no doubt about it. Whatever Adil is saying, that is what he is thinking. He believes that because the court date is coming near, Rakhi is spreading rumours. But that is not true, she is undergoing treatment and shall undergo surgery soon. She has fibrosis, there will be another checkup with the gynaec for what the other issues are. And yes, she also has heart issues. Rakhi had anxiety, chest pain and palpitations.”

When asked about the court hearing, she quipped, “She will move court within a two-three days’ time. As the date is coming closer, as her advocates we will take legal steps to ensure that her legal procedures or compliance are made. The directions of the Supreme Court will be followed. It is not that she is running away, Rakhi has already instructed us, and we shall take legal steps at the appropriate time. She will be back very soon.”

Falguni further reacted to Adil’s claims saying, “Adil is just trying to grab publicity in this, he had mentioned that last year he did all the tests. He wasn’t even there, for 6 months he was in jail. He wasn’t even there with Rakhi when she went for her medical tests. And even if he was there with her, then anyone could have a medical emergency. She would have been alright last year, but she could also have a medical emergency, you cannot determine something that happens all of a sudden.”

She concluded, “As Adil said, she is lying and doing all this to stay away from the jail, so there is nothing like that. Rakhi will be there before the court and her fate will be decided by the court and not by Adil. He is only doing this to grab publicity.”

In an exciting revelation, it has been confirmed that Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri will be sharing the screen space in Anurag Basu’s next romantic film, following their collaboration in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The horror comedy, helmed by Anees Bazmee, has generated high anticipation since it went on floors earlier this year. Buzz is already circulating that the actors have committed to a second project together, reportedly a romantic film directed by Anurag Basu.

Producer Bhushan Kumar shed light on the upcoming venture in an interview with Zoom, addressing speculation about Kartik and Triptii starring in Aashiqui 3. He clarified, “We are not making Aashiqui 3 right now. Kartik and Triptii are a part of another romantic movie, which Anurag dada is directing.” He further emphasized, “The name Aashiqui is not there for this film.”

Kartik Aaryan is now awaiting the release of his highly anticipated Chandu Champion. The film is all set to release on June 14. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and helmed by Kabir Khan, the movie is inspired by the real-life story of India’s first Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar. Triptii Dimri is all set to star alongside Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk in Bad Newz. Directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Karan Johar, the film is all set to release on July 19, 2024.

Following the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik Aaryan will be reprising his character Rooh Baba for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The film will also star Vidya Balan in a key role. Back in March, the makers announced the first schedule wrap of the film.
