Actor Ayush Mehra is set to make his debut at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, joining the ranks of Indian artists gracing the prestigious event. In an interview with News18 Showsha, Ayush expressed his exhilaration about representing the vibrant Indian actors’ community on such a grand stage.

“Yes, this is my first time attending the red carpet at Cannes and I’m extremely excited. I’m not at all nervous because it’s a film festival and I feel it’s where I belong. I’m an actor and it’s so inspiring to be in the presence of so many renowned personalities I’ve grown up watching all my life. It’s going to be like I’m in La La Land,” he shared, emphasizing the dream-like nature of his upcoming experience.

Ayush is particularly looking forward to several screenings at the festival. He mentioned that he is eager to watch Kinds of Kindness and Bird and is especially excited about Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis. “I cannot miss that. I want to try my best to get into that screening,” he said. Additionally, he expressed support for Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light, which is competing for the prestigious Palme d’Or, marking a significant moment for Indian cinema.

As a fan of George Miller, Ayush is thrilled about the premiere of Furiosa and is keen on catching Shyam Benegal’s Manthan, presented in the Classics section. “I’m a huge fan of George Miller and his movie Mad Max: Fury Road. I must have watched that movie at least 50 times. Furiosa is being premiered there which again I cannot wait to watch,” he enthused, highlighting his diverse cinematic interests.

While Cannes is renowned for its film screenings, it is also a major fashion event. For his debut on the red carpet, Ayush has collaborated with new-age stylist Kudrat Anand but remains secretive about his look. “Well, it’s a surprise and you all will have to wait. I take my fashion game very seriously and I shall see you at the red carpet looking my dapper best!” he remarked, leaving fans eagerly anticipating his appearance.

Known for his spellbinding performances in a variety of movies, Vicky Kaushal has entrenched himself as one of most versatile actors in Bollywood. On his birthday, fans and moviegoers have much to celebrate.

Vicky is known to many made his debut in Masaan for which he was highly appreciated in 2015. But that wasn’t the start to the actor’s acting journey. In 2012 Vicky had a minor role in Anurag Kashyap’s prominent film Gangs of Wasseypur.

In the iconic movie Vicky played a background character during the heated exchange between Nagma Khatoon and Sardar Khan played by Richa Chadha and Manoj Bajpayee respectively at a brothel. In a conversation with Mid Day, Kaushal spoke about how he got his role sharing that the original junior artists selected for the role backed out once they realised the setting was a brothel. Vicky who was assisting on the film then stepped in to fill the gap. “I’m that silhouette you see overacting behind the window grille when Nagma Khatoon is cursing Sardar Khan” he hilariously recalled.

His collaboration with Kashyap was not just till that but beyond as he continued to assist and act in Raman Raghav 2.0 in 2016. Vicky’s incredible journey started as an assistant director to acting as background and eventually being lead for successful films like URI: The Surgical Strike, Raazi and Sam Bahadur is the attestation to his talent.

He will soon be seen on-screen in Anand Tiwari’s Bad News with Tripti Dimri, Ammy Virk and Neha Dupia.

The release of Kangana Ranaut’s political drama Emergency has been postponed once again. The makers of the film issued a statement on Wednesday, announcing that the film will not hit theatres on June 14, 2024, as originally planned. This decision comes as Kangana Ranaut is currently deeply involved in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, where she is contesting from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

In the statement, the team behind Emergency expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received for Kangana Ranaut, affectionately referred to as the “queen” by her fans. They emphasized her commitment to serving the nation and fulfilling her responsibilities as a political candidate, which has led to the postponement of the film’s release.

“Our hearts are filled with love pouring in for our queen Kangana Ranaut. As she prioritizes her duty to the nation and her commitment to serve the country, the release date of our much-awaited film ‘Emergency’ has been postponed. We promise to update you soon with a new release date. Thank you for your continued support,” the statement by team Emergency read.

Emergency promises to delve into significant political events. The film is expected to explore the tumultuous period of India’s history during the Emergency era, which lasted from 1975 to 1977.

This is not the first time Emergency has faced delays. The film, directed by Kangana Ranaut herself, has seen its release date pushed back on several occasions. The film also stars Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhary, Shreyas Talpade, and Anupam Kher.

Tamannaah Bhatia and Raashii Khanna starrer Tamil film Aranmanai 4 wreaked havoc at the box office, and now, the film is set to release in Hindi. Tamannaah Bhatia and Raashii Khanna fans can enjoy the horror-comedy in Hindi in their nearest theatres from May 24 onwards. The Tamil version has been received well by the audience as well as the critics. It has crossed Rs 70 crore at the box office and is set to touch Rs 100 crore soon. The film ended the Tamil industry’s dry spell and emerged as the first Tamil hit of 2024. It is also the highest-grossing film in the franchise.

Aranmanai 4 has become yet another prestigious addition to the filmographies of Tamannaah and Raashii that boasts several hits. Fans of Tamannaah and Raashii hailed their performance in the horror-comedy, and are looking forward to witnessing more projects from them. Their song ‘Achacho’ also received a lot of love from the audience, and went viral on social media platforms.

Priyadarshan is gearing up for a busy period. Fresh off the success of his social satire Corona Papers (April 2023), he’s diving into a diverse mix of projects, including two Hindi films and a potential Malayalam thriller. One particularly exciting project is a Hindi thriller featuring Saif Ali Khan in the lead role. Reports suggest a captivating narrative with Khan taking on the challenging role of a blind man. The actor has reportedly expressed strong interest in the project, and filming could commence as early as July-August 2024, with a tight 40-day schedule.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, a source close to the production revealed, “Priyadarshan has become a master of crafting suspenseful thrillers in Malayalam cinema. Now, he’s looking to create one in Hindi with Saif Ali Khan at the helm. Talks are ongoing, but they’re still in the very early stages.”

The source elaborated, “The script is complete, and the main focus right now is securing the final cast and locking in a production house. We should have a clearer picture about the film’s development within the next two weeks, given its current nascent stage.”

A report in the publication suggests that Bobby Deol has also entered the picture. Apparently, Deol heard the story a few weeks ago and expressed keen interest in joining the project. According to a source, “Bobby was very impressed by the concept, particularly the character’s complex journey filled with unexpected turns. While he might initially appear as the antagonist, the character actually serves as a parallel lead to Saif Ali Khan’s protagonist.”

The source further revealed Deol’s excitement about collaborating with both Khan and Priyadarshan. The source added, “Bobby is looking forward to a thrilling face-off with Saif Ali Khan under Priyadarshan’s direction. He has a busy schedule for the next six months, but he’s trying to clear a few weeks to accommodate the 30-day shoot for this thriller. He absolutely loves the script and is actively working on the logistics to make it work.”

With a proposed marathon schedule of 35 days in July, the makers aim to wrap up filming by August. “Priyadarshan is eager to bring this story to Hindi audiences,” shared the source. “Casting is currently underway, and if everything falls into place, this thriller will begin production before his fantasy comedy with Akshay Kumar.”

The final shooting schedule hinges on securing the remaining cast members and aligning everyone’s dates. Interestingly, the source concluded, “Saif Ali Khan is also waiting to finalize his involvement until the antagonist is confirmed.”

This untitled thriller promises a unique dynamic between Saif Ali Khan and Bobby Deol, and audiences can expect to see it hit the big screen sometime in 2025.

In the meantime, Saif Ali Khan has a packed schedule filled with diverse projects. These include Devara: Part 1 alongside Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, Jewel Thief with Jaideep Ahlawat, and Click Shankar directed by Balaji Mohan.

Rakesh Sharma, who is the brother of Rakhi, revealed that the near and dear ones of the actress-dancer betrayed her after their mother passed away last year. Rakesh told TimesNow in an interview, “We are disturbed. Jabse humare mom ki death hui hai, tabse Rakhi ko saare uske apne jo publicity le rahe the, jo usko use kar rahe the aur paise kha rahe the, sab uske khilaf ho gaye hai. Usko torture kar rahe hai. Adil, jiske pass ek rupaya nahi tha, woh abhi Rakhi ka paisa khaa ke baitha hai. Usne Rakhi ke saare aas pass ke logon se dosti karke abhi uske khilaf use kar raha hai (Ever since our mother has passed away, since then, everyone who has been piggybacking on Rakhi’s publicity and spending her money, turned against her. Adil, who did not even have anything, too has taken a hefty sum from her. He also manipulated all her near and dear ones against her).

He also addressed the subject of the chargesheet being filed against her by Adil. “Woh bhaagi bhaagi phir rahi hai. Maa ke jaane ka itna saara tension hone ke bawajood, woh media ke saamne aayi. Police ne abhi tak chargesheet nahi di hai taki woh bail na le sake. Saare log uss pareshaan kar rahe hai. Adil police aur media walon ko paise khila kar sab kuch karwa raha hai. Upar wala dekh raha hai. Rakhi ke fans uske saath hai (She kept running everywhere to find a solution. Furthermore, along with expressing concern, Rakesh Sawant also requested fans to pray for her speedy recovery. In the same breath, he also assured that God will punish everyone who has troubled his sister. “Bhagwan toh sabse badla lega aur sabko batayega ki haqeeqat kya hai. Maa ke jaane ke baad humara ghar bikhar gaya. Agar Rakhi ko kuch hua toh inki zindagi toh barbaad hogi hi aur desh mein Rakhi ke jo fans hai, woh inn sabko chodenge nahi. Aaj Rakhi ko media, fans aur police walon ki zaroorat hai (God will definitely punish them and will unveil the truth. After my mother’s death, our home is completely destroyed. If something happens to Rakhi, then their (all haters) lives will definitely ruined and Rakhi’s fans too will not spare them. Today, Rakhi needs her media, fans, and police’s support).”

“Please pray for her. Uska proper operation ho jaye aur phir se woh media ke saamne hasti khelti aaye. Bas woh hospital se bahar aa jaye, yahi meri aur meri family ki dua hai (Let’s hope her operation is successfully and she returns as the cheerful person that she is. I am just praying for her to come out of the hospital),” he concluded.
