Raj Anadkat, renowned for his portrayal of Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is set to make a comeback on television after a two-year hiatus. The actor recently disclosed in one of his YouTube vlogs that he has secured a role in a new show, where he will be seen alongside Sana Amin Sheikh, igniting anticipation among his fan base.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the forthcoming Gujarati show, Raj shared, “I am super duper excited for this new journey. I am going to play the lead character. I know all of you have been waiting to see me back on TV. I have been quite excited and nervous. I am finally signing the papers for the show. I even did the mock shoot, and I even went to the sets. I will soon share a glimpse of all this on my vlog,” Raj said as quoted by E-Times.

The young actor, while refraining from divulging specifics about the show or his character, appealed for the continued support and affection from his audience, reminiscent of his tenure as Tapu in TMKOC. “Finally my new show, I am feeling blessed. I can’t wait to share everything with you all. Please keep loving me and my character. I am tight-lipped about the show, but I can’t wait to share all the details,” he added.

Raj Anadkat’s portrayal of Dilip Joshi’s son Tapu in TMKOC spanned five years before his departure in December 2022. In a recent YouTube video, Raj reflected on his decision to exit the long-running show, citing his aspiration to explore diverse roles and grow as an actor. “I did this show for five years and I did over 1,000 episodes for the show. This journey was very beautiful for me. But as an actor, I wanted to grow more in this field. I wanted to explore different characters. I took this decision, and I am thankful to God for this opportunity. Thanks to all of you for accepting me as Tapu. Sometimes you have to make such decisions in life. It is a part and parcel of your life,” he expressed, acknowledging the enriching experience of working on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Actress Ananya Panday is set for a professional win with a cameo role in the upcoming film Bad Newz. Directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Dharma Productions, the movie boasts a star-studded cast including Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk in lead roles.

Scheduled for a theatrical release on July 19, 2024, Bad Newz reportedly features Ananya as a popular film star. According to a report by Mid-Day, her character will have a fun and engaging connection with Triptii Dimri’s portrayal of a chef. Filming for Ananya’s part has already begun, with a scene shot last month at a five-star Juhu hotel. The sequence involved her character’s arrival, complete with a throng of paparazzi and fans, followed by another scene filmed alongside Triptii. An additional shoot day is scheduled for May 13, 2024, to complete Ananya’s portion of the movie.

While the official plot of Bad Newz remains under wraps, an earlier report suggested the film’s storyline might revolve around heteropaternal superfecundation, a rare occurrence where twins are conceived from different fathers.

Karan Johar, head of Dharma Productions, announced the film’s release on his Instagram page, describing it as a “hilarious once in a billion situation awaits” inspired by true events.

On Tuesday, actor Varun Dhawan was spotted visiting a clinic in Mumbai wherein he was followed inside by the paparazzi making him loose his cool. A video was shared on Instagram by a paparazzi account capturing the incident.

The account also shared a video in which we can see him exiting his car while being ringed by his security, following which he makes his way into the clinic. Before entering, he can be seen looking at the cameramen nettled as they called his name. In the video we can see him asking the paparazzi “Tereko andar aana hai?” to which the paparazzi can be heard responding with a “Nai Nai”.

Previously various similar experiences have been encountered by celebrities like Taapsee Pannu, Anushka Sharma, Shahid Kapoor and many more. A very recent similar incident also occurred when Jr NTR got annoyed by the paparazzi while shooting for War 2 with Hrithik Roshan. A video of him went viral asking the paparazzi to ‘leave it’ and stop him from filming after being followed inside.

Dhawan has currently many projects lined up, including the Indian edition of Citadel titled Citadel: Honey bunny alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu by Raj & DK and Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari alongside Jhanvi Kapoor. The actor was recently seen in films like Amar Kaushik’s Bhediya and Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal.

One of the most loved films of Indian cinema, Sarfarosh (1999), celebrated its 25th anniversary on April 30. Starring Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre in lead roles, the film was loved for its realistic cum commercial treatment, action, performances, plot and above all, the evergreen music. In short, Sarfarosh stands out and when a film like this completes 25 years, the celebrations have to be huge. Keeping this in mind, a grand event is happening in a few days to celebrate Sarfarosh.

Bollywood Hungama has learnt that a special screening of the film will be held in Mumbai. Popular radio station, Radio Nasha, has taken the initiative to organize the screening on Friday, May 10 at PVR Juhu in Mumbai.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre will be attending the 25th anniversary screening of Sarfarosh. Mukesh Rishi, who played a memorable role in the film, has also confirmed his presence. It is not known if Naseeruddin Shah will make it. However, director John Matthew Matthan and music director Lalit Pandit will grace the screening.”

The source continued, “As it happens with the screenings of Radio Nasha, the cast and crew members will be felicitated and will be encouraged to share their memories and trivia by RJ Divya Solgama. This will be followed by the screening of Sarfarosh. Along with the team of the film, fans can also be a part of this unforgettable event as they’ll have a chance to win tickets to the premiere.”

The source expects a huge turnout for the premiere, “After all, there’s a generation of viewers who must have been too young or were not born when Sarfarosh was released in 1999. It was a landmark film as it talks about cross-border terrorism, arms trafficking etc., which are pressing issues even today. Also, the songs continue to be popular, especially ‘Hosh Waalon ko Khabar Kya’.”

Radio Nasha has held several such screenings of significant films in the past. One of their most memorable events was the screening of Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994), on its 25th anniversary. It was held on August 9, 2019, at Mumbai’s Liberty Cinema. Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, director Sooraj Barjatya and many others graced the screening. The way the lead actors danced and the way the cast and crew went down memory lane made it a very exciting occasion.

In 2022, Radio Nasha organized a screening of Gupt (1994) on its 25th anniversary, on July 9 at Metro Inox Cinema. Lead actors Bobby Deol and Kajol, director-editor Rajiv Rai, production designer and co-writer Shabbir Boxwala, music director Viju Shah, art director Bijon Das Gupta, singers Udit Narayan, Sunita Rao and Sadhana Sargam, voiceover artist Chetan Shashital and actors Harish Patel, Mukesh Rishi, Tej Sapru and Dalip Tahil were in attendance. Bobby had made the evening memorable as he danced to his entry song ‘Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela’ when it was played on the screen.

Last year, Khalnayak’s (1994) 30th-anniversary screening was attended by Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Ali Asgar, Anand Balraj, director Subhash Ghai, singers Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun, art director Bijon Das Gupta, dialogue writer Kamlesh Pandey, costume designer Neeta Lulla and Ramesh Taurani of Tips.

The dry period in Bollywood might temporarily halt with the release of this week’s Srikanth, starring Rajkummar Rao, Jyotika, Alaya F and Sharad Kelkar. The movie-watching season will begin in full force with Mr And Mrs Mahi, which will arrive in cinemas on May 31. Bollywood Hungama reported last week that the trailer is on its way. Now, we bring to you another interesting development about this film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor.

A source told us, “The makers of the film have recreated the much-loved song ‘Say Shava Shava’ from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) for this film. The recreation is not done for the whole song. Rather, they have only chosen to recreate the stanza that begins with the line ‘Dekho Tainu Pehli Pehli Baar Ve’. It’s played during an important scene between the lead actors, Rajkummar and Janhvi.” Interestingly, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was directed by Karan Johar, who is also the producer of Mr And Mrs Mahi along with Zee Studios.

The source continued, “The song is played in the background and it now remains to be seen if it makes it to the final cut. There are times when songs, relegated to the background, might get changed. But ‘Dekha Tainu’ fits the narrative and let’s see what call is taken by the makers in this regard.

The original version of ‘Say Shava Shava’ is a popular dance number featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Kajol and Jaya Bachchan. It was composed by the late Aadesh Shrivastava.

Mr And Mrs Mahi is directed by Sharan Sharma, whose debut directorial was Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl (2020). Bollywood Hungama was the first one to break the news, in November 2021, that Sharan’s next film has been titled Mr And Mrs Mahi. In January 2022, the makers dropped pictures of Janhvi prepping with Dinesh Karthik for the role of a cricketer.

Some days back, Janhvi Kapoor grabbed eyeballs as she was seen at an IPL match wearing a jersey that mentioned ‘Mahi’, as part of the promotions of the film.

Just a day ago, Kangana Ranaut was heavily trolled for her speech wherein she asserted that she gets the maximum respect in the industry, after Amitabh Bachchan. This video clip of her making ‘high claims’ about her stardom in Bollywood resulted in netizens slamming the actress and many of them even remarked about the actress giving out 15 consecutive flops. Reacting to it, Kangana took to her social media to share a note where she quizzed the users, ‘if not her, then whom?’

Readers would be aware that Kangana is currently busy with her electoral campaign as the actress has joined politics as the BJP candidate from the Mandi constituency, which belongs to her hometown Himachal Pradesh. In a video from her campaign speech which found its way online, Kangana was seen saying, “Sara desh hairaan hai, ki wo Kangana, chahe Rajasthan chali jau, chahe mai West Bengal chali jau, chahe mai Delhi chali jau, chahe mai Manipur chali jau, aisa lagta hai ki mano itna pyaar aur itna sammaan… Mein daave se keh sakti hu ke Amitabh Bachchan ji ke baad aaj kisiko industry me milta hai to wo mujhe milta hai (The entire nation is surprised that, Kangana, no matter whether I go to Rajasthan or West Bengal or Delhi, or Manipur, I feel like I received so much love and respect, that I can assure you all, that after Amitabh Bachchan, if there is someone in the industry who gets so much respect, then it is me).”

Her speech sparked an outrage on social media where many took to the platform to slam the actress for making this statement. “Peak level of self-obsession,” claimed one of the users whereas another one added, “After giving flops over flops, Kangana Ranaut compare herself with Amitabh Bachchan. This is the biggest insult to Amitabh Bachchan..”. Followed by this reaction she received, Kangana decided to hit back  by sharing another post, but this time on her Instagram story.

In the post she wrote, “I clearly mentioned Bharat and its various states where I get overwhelming love and reception as an artist for my art as well as my integrity as a nationalist, not just my acting but my work for woman empowerment is widely appreciated. I have a question for those who have an objection, if not me after Big B, who gets most amount of love and respect from hindi films in Bharat? Khans? Kapoors? Who??? Can I also know please, I would correct myself”.

For the unversed, Kangana Ranaut recently featured in Tejas which bombed heavily at the box office.

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has her upcoming projects lined up for the next year. After wrapping up Jigra, slated for release on September 27, 2024, Pinkvilla has reported on Bhatt’s busy schedule for the next 12 months. Alia is currently preparing for an action-packed role in an upcoming YRF Spy Universe film. Sources close to the production reveal that she will be portraying a super soldier in this yet-untitled project.

Excited to embark on this new journey, Alia has begun a two-month training program with experts to prepare for the role. Filming is expected to commence in late July 2024 and span four months across locations in India and abroad, with a target completion date by the end of the year. Following the YRF Spy Universe film, Alia will reunite with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Love and War.

Shooting for this project is expected to begin in January 2025 and conclude by June of the same year, according to the current production schedule. There are also rumours of Bhatt making cameo appearances in other projects before diving into these two major films.

While Bhatt begins filming Love and War in January, reports suggest Ranbir Kapoor will shoot his solo portions earlier, likely in the last quarter of 2024. RK is expected to wrap up his commitments on the film Ramayana by July before moving on to preparations for Love and War.

Posing next to Biscuit, a dog up for adoption with World for All, in time for Be Kind to Animals Week (5 to 11 May), actor Diana Penty is drawing her fans’ attention to the plight of dogs waiting in animal shelters for good homes in a new PETA India campaign aimed at urging people never to buy animals from pet shops or breeders. Penty is known to post pictures of her adopted dog, Vicky, whom she refers to as her “teammate for life”, to her nearly 5 million Instagram followers.

“Adopting Vicky was the best decision of my life, and I can tell you from experience that Indie dogs are a delight! They’re loving, playful, intelligent, and resilient,” says Penty. “My friends at PETA India and I, are asking everyone who has the time, space, resources and a lot of love in their hearts, to help give an animal a new life, by adopting one from the street or from a local shelter.”

Penty adds that cats and dogs on India’s streets struggle to survive every day. With only scraps to eat, many go hungry. Others are killed by vehicles, sustain broken bones and wounds that become infected, or are abused by cruel people. Countless more wait in animal shelters because there aren’t enough good homes for them – and buying cats and dogs from breeders or pet stores only exacerbates India’s homeless-animal crisis.

PETA India warns buyers that “pedigree” dogs – who are typically sold in pet shops and by breeders – have been purposely bred to have certain exaggerated physical traits such as small noses and drooping backs, making them especially susceptible to many health problems, including breathing difficulties, hip dysplasia, heart defects, epilepsy, and eye and ear infections. In contrast, Indian “community” dogs are known for their wonderful demeanor, are hardy and resilient, and aren’t predisposed to health problems.

PETA India – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way” – advocates for sterilization of companion animals. Sterilization is a routine, affordable surgery that can prevent animals from being born only to suffer and struggle to survive on the streets.
