Actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh were spotted at a polling booth in Latur, Maharashtra, exercising their right to vote during the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The couple participated in the democratic process as part of the third phase of polling, which encompasses 94 constituencies spread across 10 states and one Union Territory.

Riteish and Genelia were seen entering a voting station to vote in a video shared on social media. While Riteish wore a white kurta, Genelia looked stunning in a yellow saree. The two stood in line, waiting for their chance to vote.

After voting, Genelia talked to ANI outside the polling station, urging everyone to vote, saying it is “very important”. “Today is a crucial day. Voting is crucial. Every citizen must go to vote. I think this is very important,” she stated. Riteish said, “I came to Latur from Mumbai to vote. Everyone should come out of their houses and vote. Today is a significant day. Everyone should definitely vote.”

Riteish and Genelia were married on February 3, 2012. They welcomed their first son, Riaan, in November 2014, and their second son, Rahyl, in June of 2016.

Meanwhile, Riteish Deshmukh’s filmography includes Ek Villain, Housefull 2, and Bluffmaster. He was last seen in a Marathi film called Ved, which he also directed. The actor is working on several projects, including Housefull 5, Dimakhilal, Masti 4, Visfot, Kakuda, and Raja Shivaji.

Another major twist unfolded in the ongoing investigation of the April 14 shooting case outside Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai. Mumbai Crime Branch arrested a fifth suspect in the firing incident which happened outside the building where Bollywood superstar Salman Khan resided. This individual is believed to be an accomplice who reportedly lent a helping hand to the shooters, Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta.

Readers would be aware that the latter two were arrested only a few days after the incident. On May 7, ANI reported the latest development in the ongoing investigation, shedding light on the continued unraveling of this complex case. Speaking about the recent arrest, ANI took to social media X (formerly known as Twitter) to share details about the same and added, “Mumbai Crime Branch arrested the 5th accused in this case from Rajasthan, the name of the arrested accused is Mohammad Chaudhary. He helped the two shooters, Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, provide money, and do recce. Chaudhary is being brought to Mumbai today where he will be produced in the court and a demand for custody will be made.”

The firing incident definitely shocked the nation and even the Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde showcased his support and help towards superstar Salman Khan, assuring extensive security to him and his family. While several evidence points towards the Bishnoi family being involved in the case, no arrest has been made on that front.

The arrests include the shooters Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta and later, two arms suppliers, Sonu Subhash Chander and Anuj Thapan, were also taken into custody. The latter two, from Punjab, were accused of providing weapons to the shooters. Tragically, Anuj Thapan reportedly died by suicide while in police custody, prompting his brother Abhishek Thapan to raise suspicions of foul play.

Reflecting on the unconventional moment, Koirala revealed to Bollywood Bubble, “I was in Nepal doing gardening when I got a call from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office. Sanjay said on the call, ‘Manisha there is a good role for you, just read the script.’ I was so happy. I had stopped dreaming about working with him.”

The scene, which Suman shared on Instagram, dives deep into the complexities of his character, Nawab Zulfikar, as he interacts with Mallikajaan. Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, the highly anticipated web series Stardom, began the shoot in Goa in April 2024. According to a reliable source, as reported by Bollywood Hungama, filming kicked off this Friday, April 19th, in Goa. Adding to the star power, the source hinted that Bobby Deol was also expected to join the shoot for the final few days of filming. Now, there’s another update that Khan has begun his last leg of shoot.

As per a report in Mid-day, sources suggest the young director recently took over the expansive Royal Palms in Goregaon for a five-day filming schedule. The team is aiming to wrap up filming by the end of May if all goes according to plan.

The source shed light on the project’s fast-paced progress, “Aryan was shooting all through April, the locations changing from a studio in Andheri East to Madh Island, and now Royal Palms. The shoot will go on at the Goregaon venue till the end of the week before moving to another location. Simultaneously, Aryan has been overseeing the editing process. Though there is no rush on the show’s delivery, the team is keen to release it by the year-end.”

For his directorial venture, Aryan has chosen a familiar subject – the dazzling world of Hindi cinema. The series, which began filming in June 2023, will consist of six episodes. While the lead actor remains under wraps, it is said that Lakshya Lalwani is one of the protagonists. The project boasts a string of exciting cameos, including Shah Rukh Khan himself alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

Amazon Prime Video is today one of the biggest OTT platforms in India. Several people played a part in making the streaming giant a force to reckon with in India and one of them was Aparna Purohit. And now, it is being said that she has resigned from her post of Head of India and SEA Originals. And if all goes well, she’s expected to be hired in an enviable position at Aamir Khan’s production house, Aamir Khan Productions.

Aparna Purohit joined Amazon Prime Video India in January 2016 as Head of Creative Development. In April 2019, she was promoted to Head of India Originals and in 2022, she was assigned the plum post of Head of India and SEA Originals. She was also a regular at launch events of Amazon Prime Video’s original films and web shows.

An industry insider commented, “She is in advanced talks with Aamir Khan and in a few days, it’ll be known if she has accepted the job offer and pay package. Aamir has often said that he has grand plans for Aamir Khan Productions. Signing Aparna could be the step in that direction. Together, they can churn out some solid content.”

It is, however, not known when Aparna Purohit will end her tenure at Amazon Prime Video and whether she will grace the Panchayat 3 and Mirzapur 3’s launches. The insider commented, “Her sensible talks and million-dollar watt smile added to the charm in the Prime Video events. She’ll surely be missed.” While the much-awaited show Panchayat 3 will be released on May 28, Mirzapur 3 is expected to premiere in July.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan Productions’ recently released film, Laapataa Ladies, got universal acclaim and trended well in cinemas. Ever since it dropped on Netflix, it has become a huge talking point on social media.
