Deepak Tijori, who charmed the audience with his performances in his 90s, was last seen in a feature film in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 (2018). He’s all set to make a comeback on the big screen with Tipppsy. It is also directed by him and also stars Natasha Suri, Kainaat Arora, Nazia Hussain, Alankrita Sahai and Sonia Birje. In the making for two years, Tipppsy is all set to see the light of day. Produced by Raju Chadha and Deepak Tijori, it releases in cinemas on May 10 this year and will be distributed by Panorama Studios.

When contacted, Deepak Tijori exclusively told Bollywood Hungama, “It’s been a five-year-long journey for Tippsy! We started work on it before COVID and the journey has been quite exhausting. We are thankful to God and happy that we have reached the stage.”

When asked how he chose to release Tipppsy on May 10, he replied, “May has space for small films. I thought that it’d be a good window. Panorama and producer Raju Chadha ji also felt that it’ll be an apt time to bring the film.” He further revealed, “The trailer will be unveiled on May 2, 8 days before release, as per the trend nowadays.”

He signed off by stating, “We are now crossing our fingers and we are hoping that audiences would eventually come to cinemas. We are giving it a small, compact release and we are doing the best we can. I am going to be on screen after a long time. I look forward to the audience’s reaction and I hope they shower love on us, the way they have done that in the past for my films.”

The promotions have already begun. Yesterday, Deepak Tijori and the actresses visited R City Mall in Mumbai where they impressed the shoppers.

In April 2022, Bollywood Hungama had exclusively visited the sets at Film City where a party song was being shot. At that time, Natasha Suri, former Miss World India and who has also been a TV host, told this writer, “I am playing Tanya. There are five girls in the movie, and the title of the film is an abbreviation. T stands for Tanya, I for Iris, P for Pony, S for Seline and Y for Yami! Though now the spelling of our film’s title is Tipppsy for good luck! Nevertheless, the essence of Tipppsy stays the same.”

Kainaat Arora, the ‘Aila Re Aila’ girl, plays Yami, a Haryanvi character. Nazia Hussain, who has worked in Bollywood as well as down South and is Sanjay Dutt’s niece, essays the role of Iris, a bossy, tomboyish DJ. Alankrita Sahai, earlier seen in Namaste England (2018) and Love Per Square Foot (2018) shared, “I play Pony. I am actually the bride. And all the girls travel to Goa for Pony’s bachelorette bash.” Lastly, Sonia Birje, also a DJ and Hemant Birje’s daughter, plays the role of Seline, a strong, independent and adventurous woman.

Actor Aryan Khan’s foray into filmmaking has generated significant buzz since the announcement. Fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on his directorial debut titled Stardom. Well, a source has confirmed to Bollywood Hungama that the project is finally taking a major step forward!

The source revealed, “Aryan Khan is all set to begin filming the Goa schedule of Stardom this Friday, which is April 19 along with Mona Singh.” While the specific locations remain undisclosed, the source hinted, “The filming schedule will cover a picturesque backdrop, encompassing nine stunning beaches across South Goa.” The source concluded by saying, “Bobby Deol is also expected to join the shoot for the final few days of filming.”

Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that Stardom is being made under the production of Red Chillies Entertainment. It will be a 6 episodic web series. Apart from this, Aryan Khan has recently shot an ad film for his brand D’YAVOL where he got to direct his father Shah Rukh Khan.

On the momentous occasion of International Women’s Day, Vishal Rana’s banner Echleon Productions announced a film which promises to be a groundbreaking tale that celebrates the resilience and strength of women everywhere. Starring Huma Qureshi in the lead, the film titled Gulabi was supposed to be directed by Vipul Mehta. Now latest update on that front is that it has gone on floors, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

On Monday, April 15, the makers marked the beginning of shoot for Gulabi along with actress Huma Qureshi. Confirming the same, producer Vishal Rana took to social media and shared details of the announcement adding, “Excited to unveil our latest production, ‘Gulabi’ it’s time to roll up our sleeves and bring this vision to life. Let’s make magic happen on screen!” Reposting the same, Huma added, “Gulabi is here !!! Filming Now …” Many of her colleagues from the industry like Bhumi Pednekar, Zaheer Iqbal, among others wished her luck for this new venture.

Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut shifted gears to embark on a spiritual odyssey after announcing her participation in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate. Her rendezvous with Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama in Dharamshala has garnered significant attention.

Reflecting on her encounter with the revered spiritual figure, the Queen actress shared her profound sentiments during an interview with ANI. She expressed, “It was divine. It was an experience which I’ll cherish all my life. I think it is exceptional to be in the presence of such a being who has sheer divinity around him. Mandi, traditionally a Congress stronghold, poses a formidable challenge for Kangana as she steps into the political arena. He is designing stunts with the stunt experts from the West, and plans to shoot it as a hybrid of real action and VFX enhancements,” the source told us further.

King will be shot from May over a period of 5 months and hit the big screen in the 2nd half of 2025.

Last week, Bollywood Hungama reported that due to the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, a couple of films are expected to change their release dates. Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani and Amitabh Bachchan, was all set to release on May 9. But due to the elections on May 13 in the home state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, it is now expected to be released on May-end or June. Baby John, featuring Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff, which was to release on May 31 has also vacated the spot. And now one more film – The Sabarmati Report – has been pushed.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The makers applied for a certificate at the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Its Examining Committee saw the film and had objections to certain scenes. Also, fearing that it might violate the model code of conduct as laid down by the Election Commission of India, it has been advised that it should be released after the last phase of elections, which will take place on June 1.”

Another source said, “The CBFC’s reservation was that certain moments in the film can hurt the sentiments of a section of the moviegoers. Hence, the team of the film might reshoot the sequence.”

The Sabarmati Report was all set to release on May 3 and it now remains to be seen when it’ll hit the theatres. Starring Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna and Ridhi Dogra, it is a political thriller about two reporters investigating the burning of the Sabarmati Express at Godhra on February 27, 2002. It is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan and directed by Ranjan Chandel.

With The Sabarmati Report postponed, there’s no other major Hindi film lined up on May 3. It seems to be a dry May as most releases don’t seem to be huge money spinners unless they surprise. The next major release is the Rajkummar Rao-Janhvi Kapoor starrer Mr And Mrs Mahi on May 31.

Kamal Haasan bounced back with a bang with the 2022 Tamil flick Vikram. It also did decent business in the Hindi version and hence, there’s a lot of excitement for Kamal Haasan’s next, Indian 2 across the country. The first part, which was released in 1996, had generated a massive craze and hence, the trade and industry feel the sequel can also be a huge money-spinner. Recently, the makers announced two posters of Indian 2, featuring Kamal Haasan in a massive avatar. However, the release date wasn’t mentioned, and they chose to only reveal that the film will arrive in cinemas on June.

Bollywood Hungama has learned the exact date on which the film will be released. A source told us, “The team has most probably locked June 14 for Indian 2. They feel that it is the apt time to arrive in theatres and will give them time for two months to promote their product. An announcement is expected soon.”

The source also said, “The team of Indian 2 is also looking at other dates but is more keen on June 14. A decision should be taken in a week’s time.”

Meanwhile, an industry insider commented, “They might probably release a day earlier, on Thursday, June 13, as it usually happens for big Tamil films.”

Interestingly, two major Hindi films are also scheduled on June 14 – Kartik Aaryan starrer Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan, and Emergency, directed by Kangana Ranaut which features her as Ex-Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.

Indian 2 also stars S J Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth and Rakul Preet Singh and is directed by Shankar. The first part was released in Hindi as Hindustani. Taking a leaf out of it, the sequel’s Hindi version is called Hindustani 2. It has music by Anirudh Ravichander.

Indian was the story of a veteran freedom fighter, who starts murdering the wrongdoers and corrupt using an ancient martial arts technique. It featured Kamal in a double role along with Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar. The music by A R Rahman was a big hit.

Perhaps impressed by his affinity to sports and sportsmanship, Kartik Aaryan has been named as the ambassador for the ‘Bundesliga Dream India’ project, which officially kicked off this weekend. He will work with the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga and promote the project across his various social media channels, which together have more than 44 million followers.

A passionate player and follower of football, Kartik Aaryan, was in Munich last month for Der Klassiker matchup between FC Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund, where he was seen in a fun interaction with football legends Harry Kane and Thomas Müller. Talking about Bundesliga Dream India, Kartik Aaryan said, “I believe this is what India needs to elevate the level of youth football. I have the same passion and dream for football as the Bundesliga does, and together we want to instil belief into aspiring young footballers and tell them that no dream is too small. We want to provide them with a platform to pursue their passion and chase their dreams.”

Bundesliga International Chief Marketing Officer Peer Naubert said, “We are delighted to welcome Kartik as an ambassador for Bundesliga Dream India. His love for football shone through when he was in Munich, and we believe that with his support, we can elevate the project to new levels. The Bundesliga has long been considered the home for Asian players, and we are excited to work with BigHit, Sony Sports Network, and with Kartik over the next seasons to establish a route for young, talented Indian players to train and play in a Bundesliga academy.”

In collaboration with BigHit, the Bundesliga Dream initiative will select multiple squads from the U-13 and U-15 age groups to travel to Germany for an immersive training camp experience. Over the next one-and-a-half years, six teams across both age groups will be selected to train with and compete against clubs throughout Germany. The project’s long-term aim is to create a pathway for talented Indian footballers to have the opportunity to test themselves in a Bundesliga youth academy set-up.

Amir Sarfaraz Tamba, the man accused of the murder of Sarabjit Singh, met his demise when unidentified assailants targeted him in Lahore, Pakistan. The incident occurred on Sunday in the Islampura area, where Tamba was attacked by assailants riding motorcycles. Despite being rushed to the hospital in critical condition, Tamba ultimately succumbed to his injuries, according to sources.

The news of Tamba’s demise prompted a response from actor Randeep Hooda, who portrayed the role of Sarabjit Singh in the biopic Sarbjit. Taking to his social media platform, Hooda expressed his sentiments, stating, “KARMA. Thank you ‘Unknown Men’ / Remembering my Sister Dalbir Kaur and sending love to Swapandeep and Poonam, today some justice to Martyr Sarabjit Singh has been served.” 

Sarabjit Singh, whose tragic story captivated many, met his unfortunate end on June 26, 2013, after enduring a week-long assault by fellow inmates, including Amir Tamba, within the confines of Kot Lakhpat jail. He spent 23 years incarcerated in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail.

Randeep’s portrayal of Sarabjit Singh in the biopic shed light on the injustice faced by the late Indian national, whose story touched hearts across borders. For the unversed, Sarbjit, starring Randeep along with Richa Chadha and Aishwarya Rai, was released in 2016.
