Looks like it is going to be an intense Dussehra weekend, since yet another intriguing film is all set to release in October this year. For the first time, bringing together the pairing of Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimrii is the upcoming entertainer Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video which is directed by Dream Girl franchise’s filmmaker Raaj Shandaliyaa. Now adding to the intrigue, the makers have locked the release date of the film which is said to be on October 11.

In a recent poster unveiled by the makers, they have confirmed the release date on a Friday, which falls right, a day before Dussehra – the auspicious final day of Navratri, which is on October 12. While the posters do not unveil the characters played by the leads Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri in the film, the makers have asserted that Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video will be a commercial masala film which aims at making everyone nostalgic and promises to take them back to the colourful era of the 90s.

Coming to the film’s release date, it seems that the film will be clashing two major releases scheduled for the week. One is the Shahid Kapoor starrer Deva which will feature him alongside Pan India actress Pooja Hegde for the first time. Directed by Rosshan Andrews, the film is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under his banner. Besides another big project which is slated for release, a day prior, that is, on October 10 is Devara Part 1. This highly anticipated action entertainer will mark Jr NTR’s return to theatres after RRR, along with Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan making her Telugu debut.

As for Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala video, the film, which is family comedy, is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl, Raaj Shaandilyaa and Vimal Lahoti.

One such incident emerges from the meeting between lyricist Irshad Kamil and composer extraordinaire AR Rahman, shedding light on the birth of the soul-stirring track ‘Tu Kya Jaane’ for Imtiaz Ali’s latest film, Amar Singh Chamkila.

In a conversation with CNN News18, Irshad reminisced about the incident, narrating, “We had initially settled on a different song prior to ‘Tu Kya Jaane’. However, after some discussions, we realized it wasn’t suitable for the scene. That’s when Rahman composed ‘Tu Kya Jaane’. But the backstory is quite amusing. I had visited him for another matter, and it was already past midnight. He insisted I wait, saying, ‘I won’t let you leave until you give me a line or two for the new song’.”

Irshad Kamil stated in the interview that since it was already 2 am. He said “Dimaag nahin chal raha (My brain is not working).” But Rahman kept going, showing strong passion of art and he told Irshad, “I’m not listening to you. You sit here and give me just one line.” While sitting there, Irshad quickly thought of two or three lines for Rahman, who then credited him for composing the song in seven minutes.

As Amar Singh Chamkila is gracing screen with its lyrical tapestry, audiences are reminded of the things that make art great. Through the anecdotes of Irshad Kamil and AR Rahman, we are invited to think about the mysteries of inspiration, and creativity.

Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma has returned to India with her children,  showcasing her newborn son Akaay Kohli to the paparazzi at the airport. While the actress offered a peek at Akaay, she kindly requested photographers to refrain from clicking pictures of him or their daughter Vamika. 

This news was shared by celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani on his Instagram handle. Bhayani’s post revealed that Anushka even invited the paparazzi for a future get-together, where she would be happy to pose for photos. 

Anushka and her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, welcomed their son Akaay in February 2024 in London. The couple had previously chosen to keep their second pregnancy private, but later announced the birth of their son through a heartfelt note to their fans.

This is not the first time the couple has requested privacy for their children. Anushka has previously criticized media outlets and photographers for publishing unauthorized pictures of their daughter Vamika. According to reports, Anushka and Virat might even be considering a permanent move to London to provide their children with a life outside the constant media glare.

Speaking of the professional front, Virat is currently playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2024. Meanwhile, Anushka was last seen in Zero, which was released in 2018. Last year, she did a cameo in Netflix’s Qala. After Vamika’s birth, she was shooting for Chakda Xpress, which was scheduled to arrive on Netflix. However, the production banner and OTT giant reportedly ended their partnership over creative differences and budgetary concerns.

Aamir Khan’s team has taken a stand against a fake political advertisement circulating online ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. The video, which depicts Aamir Khan purportedly endorsing a political party, prompted his team to issue an official statement.

The official spokesperson of Aamir Khan stated, “We want to clarify that Mr. Aamir Khan has never endorsed any political party throughout his 35-year career. He has dedicated his efforts to raising public awareness through Election Commission public awareness campaigns for many past elections. We are alarmed by the recent viral video alleging that Aamir Khan is promoting a particular political party.”

The spokesperson further added, “He would like to clarify that this is a fake video and totally untrue. He has reported the matter to various authorities related to this issue, including filing an FIR with the Cyber Crime Cell of the Mumbai Police.” The statement concluded, “Mr. Khan would like to urge all Indians to come out and vote and be an active part of our electoral process.”

For the unversed, a video circulating on the internet appears to feature Aamir Khan promoting a political party. However, there are concerns regarding its authenticity, as it has been altered using AI and deepfake technology.

Shah Rukh Khan returns to the big screen after Dunki in 2025 with the Sujoy Ghosh-directed King, which will mark the big-screen debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan. The film is presently in the pre-production stage and the makers are going all out to ensure that the return of SRK is celebrated like never before. We have got exclusive scoop that Sujoy Ghosh and Siddharth Anand are planning to make a raw and rustic action film, King, on a mega budget of Rs. 200 crores.

“King is an ambitious action film, unlike anyone’s imagination. The team has been working on the pre-production for the last one year to ensure that all aspects are covered in the right way – from script, to scale and action. Red Chillies Entertainment has always mounted world-class products and King will be no different as the banner is going all out to ensure a grand debut for Suhana Khan,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The source further informed that Siddharth Anand is in talks with stunt directors from the West to come on board King. “Siddharth Anand thinks internationally, and with SRK, he wants to make a global action thriller. He is designing stunts with the stunt experts from the West, and plans to shoot it as a hybrid of real action and VFX enhancements,” the source told us further.

King will be shot from May over a period of 5 months and hit the big screen in the 2nd half of 2025.

The Bombay High Court rejected filmmaker Ramesh Sippy’s request for a court-appointed receiver in an ongoing property dispute. The dispute centres on the inheritance of assets belonging to Sippy’s late parents [Ramesh Sippy v. Sunhil Sippy & Ors.].

According to a report by Bar and Bench, the Sholay director had filed an interim plea seeking the appointment of a court receiver. This receiver would have taken temporary control of a flat and 27 cinematograph films, which Sippy claimed fell intestate (without a will) upon his parents’ passing.

The filmmaker further contended that Sippy Films Pvt. Ltd. and its directors were illegally utilising these assets. However, Justice Manish Pitale, presiding over the case, found insufficient evidence from Sippy to support his concerns about the defendant disposing of the flat. Additionally, the court noted that the legal heirs of Sippy’s siblings, along with the company itself, had been asserting ownership rights over the 27 films for a substantial period.

The judge further stated, “Apart from this, the stand taken (by Sippy) in the present suit, appears to be different from the assertions made in the earlier proceedings initiated by Sippy. Therefore, he has failed to make out a prima facie case in his favour.”

The veteran filmmaker’s request for a court receiver stemmed from a larger lawsuit seeking a declaration of his share in his deceased parents’ estate among the surviving legal heirs. He claimed to be the sole surviving child.

Filed in 2023, the lawsuit argues that the properties of his parents should be distributed between him and the legal heirs of his siblings. Sippy seeks a one-fifth share of the estate, including a flat in south Mumbai, 500 shares of Sippy Films Pvt. Ltd., and rights to 27 films produced by the company.

Advocate Shanay Shah, representing Ramesh Sippy, was briefed by Bachubhai Munim & Co. Advocates Archit Jayakar, Pooja Yadav, and Parita Mashruwala, representing the Sippy Films company and directors, were briefed by Jayakar & Partners.

The case is ongoing, and further developments are expected.

The Mumbai Crime Branch has apprehended two individuals allegedly involved in the Sunday morning firing incident outside actor Salman Khan’s Bandra West residence. Confirming the arrests, Mumbai Police officials revealed that the accused were apprehended late Monday night in Bhuj, Gujarat. 

“Both the accused, who fled Mumbai after the firing, have been arrested from Gujarat’s Bhuj,” the officials told to ANI. The accused will be brought back to Mumbai for further investigation. 

The incident, which unfolded early Sunday morning, witnessed two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants open fire outside Galaxy Apartments, Salman Khan’s residence. The assailants fled the scene after discharging a total of four rounds. One live cartridge was recovered from the site. 

The incident sparked immediate action from law enforcement agencies, with the Mumbai Crime Branch initiating an investigation. Preliminary investigation suggests a well-planned attack, as the suspects wore helmets to conceal their identities. Following the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde contacted Salman Khan and Mumbai Police Commissioner. Discussions focused on the actor’s safety, and the Chief Minister recommended enhanced security measures.

Post the incident Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, took responsibility for firing outside Salman’s house. In the Facebook post, Anmol said that it was a trailer to show Salman their might and that ‘don’t consider us less. Consider this as “the last warning.”

For the unversed, Salman Khan has been under Y-Plus security cover since November 2022 due to threats received from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. He is also authorized to carry a personal firearm and has recently acquired an armored vehicle for additional protection.
