Prime Video is all set to unveil its upcoming music album for the Amazon Original series Modern Love Mumbai. With prominent music composers such as Ram Sampath, Vishal Bharadwaj, Gaurav Raina, Neel Adhikari and Shankar Ehsaan Loy, along with singers such as Nikita Gandhi Sonu Nigam, Meiyang Chang, Among many others.

The music is heartwarming and will hit the right chords. Modern Love Mumbai is the first local adaptation of the hit international anthology series. The six-part series will be directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, Shonali Bose, Dhruv Sehgal, Alankrita Shrivastava, Hansal Mehta, Nupoor Asthana and will premiere on May 13 across 240 countries and territories.

Launching in three Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, the series will be titled Modern Love: Mumbai, Modern Love: Chennai, and Modern Love: Hyderabad. The series will feature adaptations of stories from the eponymous column, with each episode designed to take audiences on a heartwarming journey of discovering love through stories of multiple human emotions ranging from love and romance to self-love, familial love, love towards ones’ friends, and love that emerges out of kindness among others. The anthology series is slated to release in 2022.

Daniel Jones, editor of Modern Love at The New York Times, said, “India is a country where love in its various forms is at the center of its cultural fabric. It is exciting and an honour to see these stories of love being adapted for the Indian versions of the show. We’re thrilled with the appreciation Modern Love has received worldwide. These Indian adaptions are in our own way, a little love letter to India, as well as a testament to the universal appeal of love as an emotion.”

South Korean female group aespa became a target of sexual harassment following their performance at all-boys school.

According to Korea JoongAng Daily, aespa performed during a school festival at Kyungbock High School. The all-boys school, located in central Seoul, is the alma mater of Lee Soo Man, the head of aespa’s agency SM Entertainment. Rookie K-pop acts under the SM label have traditionally performed at the school’s festival over the years.

Controversy arose when a number of boys rushed onto the stage uninvited during the performance to take pictures with the group, then later when students swarmed aespa as the group was leaving. With inadequate security and bodyguards, the members were caught off-guard, held up and could not get off the stage. The students were also seen taking photos with the members, with some even trying to touch them.

Some photos with sexually inappropriate comments later circulated online, drawing outrage from social media users and fans. aespa fans and Korean netizens alike are expressing outrage toward the students’ behaviour as well as the overall lack of proper security. “Secure the safety of aespa” has been a trending social media hashtag among MY, the name for aespa fans, since Monday.

Per the report, Kyungbock High School soon issued an apology on its website for the students’ disorderly conduct, but denied that the inappropriate social media posts were made by its students. “After we looked into the matter and asked students, we are assuming that some outsiders who were not allowed inside the school but came to see the performance wrote such posts maliciously,” the school stated. “We apologize again for damaging the honor of SM Entertainment and aespa.”

South Korean group SEVENTEEN’s upcoming 4th full album Face The Sun has surpassed 1.74 million copies in pre-order album sales in just one week.

As Korea JoongAng Daily reports, the popular group’s upcoming album “Face the Sun,” sold over 1.74 million copies in preorders, according to group’s agency Pledis Entertainment and YG Plus on Tuesday. The band’s fourth full-length album is set to drop on May 27. The preorders surpassed SEVENTEEN’s own record set by Attacca, the band’s previous release in October last year, which sold 1.41 million copies in preorders.

With such strong presales, the upcoming album is reportedly expected to become the band’s sixth million-selling album after An Ode (2019), Heng:garae (2020), Semicolon (2020), Your Choice (2021) and Attacca (2021). The last two albums sold over 1 million copies each in the first week of their release.

The13 member group is currently scheduled to hold its SEVENTEEN 2022 Japan Fanmeeting Hanabi concert in Japan’s Saitama Super Arena on May 7 and 8, meeting approximately 60,000 fans.

Viola Davis is reportedly in talks to return as Amanda Waller in her own spinoff series currently in the works at HBO Max.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show would spin off from the streamer’s Peacemaker, which featured a couple of brief appearances from Davis’ Waller in its first season. Plot details are kept under wraps, but sources say the potential series would build on Davis’ appearance in the Peacemaker season finale, which debuted in February on HBO Max. Danielle Brooks’ character in the series, Leota Adebayo, is Waller’s daughter.

Viola Davis is also attached to executive produce the series. Christal Henry, who had previously worked on HBO Max’s Watchmen, will write and executive produce. James Gunn would executive produce along with Suicide Squad producer and Peacemaker executive producer Peter Safran. Warner Bros. Television will produce.

Viola Davis played the role of Amanda Waller both for Gunn’s critically acclaimed The Suicide Squad and for the spinoff series Peacemaker. It marks the latest TV role for Davis, who won an Oscar for her performance in Fences. She also won widespread praise and an Emmy Award for her starring role in the ABC drama series How to Get Away With Murder. The four-time Oscar nominee currently stars in the Showtime limited series The First Lady as Michelle Obama. She was previously nominated for her work in the films Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, The Help, and Doubt.

Just last month reports surfaced that filmmaker Karan Johar would soon be seen on the small screen with his show Koffee With Karan. In fact, as per reports Karan was all set to resume his TV celebrity chat show with a new season. If that wasn’t all, the new season of the show was expected to feature celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Singh, and Sidharth Malhotra, Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, and Siddhant Chaturvedi amongst others. However, putting speculation to rest Karan Johar, today took to social media clarifying that he would not return with a new season of Koffee With Karan.

Sharing the announcement on Twitter Karan Johar posted an image of the same that read, “Hello, Koffee with Karan has been a part of my life, and yours, for 6 seasons now I’d like to think we’ve made an impact and even found our place in pop culture history. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that Koffee with Karan will not be returning…” This comes after various news portals revealed that the filmmaker was all set to commence shooting for the new season of the show.

While the show not returning is certainly a downer, on the work front, Karan Johar has his hands full with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Currently being shot, the film features Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles along with Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi. The film is being readied to release on Valentine’s Day weekend 2023. Besides this, Karan is also producing multiple ventures from the Varun Dhawan starrer JugJugg Jeeyo, to the Vijay Deverakonda starrer Liger, Brahmastra, Mr and Mrs Mahi, Govinda Naam Mera, and Selfie among others.
