South Korean singer BIBI, who was confirmed to mark her drama debut through Netflix’s webtoon based drama Sweet Home season 2, has reportedly stepped down from being a part of the show due to scheduling conflicts.

According to Soompi, a representative of Netflix said in a statement, “BIBI was confirmed to star in ‘Sweet Home 2’ and was preparing [for her role], but she canceled her appearance due to timing issues including the filming schedule.”

They added, “Currently, another actress has taken on the role and is filming.”

Sweet Home 2 is sequel to a popular series about a loner high school student who moves into a new apartment when monsters start breaking out among humanity and the apartment residents are trapped inside the building.

On the work front, BIBI is a South Korean solo singer-songwriter, rapper and producer under the label Feel GHood Music. She made her debut on May 15, 2019 with the digital single “Binu”.

She has previously appeared in the 2020 film Whispering Corridors 6: The Humming. She also appeared on Girls’ High School Mystery Class and is currently a regular cast member on TVING’s Witch Hunt 2022.

Will Smith to produce and likely to star in Oscar-winning director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s narrative feature directorial debut Brilliance from Paramount Pictures.

The movie has been dubbed as a “passion project” for Will and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman – who has collaborated with the actor on movies such as I, Robot, I Am Legend and Hancock. Smith is producing through his company Westbrook Studios with Jon Mone and Ryan Shimazaki. Screenwriter Goldsman and Greg Lessans are producing via Weed Road Pictures, along with Shane Salerno via The Story Factory, and James Lassiter.

Author Marcus Sackey, who wrote the Brilliance novel, is also serving as a co-producer. Sackey also penned sequel novels A Better World and Written in Fire. A report by Deadline dscribes the premise as, “If 1% of the world’s children were born with powerful gifts, how would society adapt to them? The Brilliance novel trilogy is set in a future where non-neurotypical people — demonized by society as “twists” or “abnorms” — are threatening the status quo of the “normal” population with their unique gifts.”

“They are officially labeled as “Brilliants” and are carefully tracked by the government. The plan is for Smith to play the book series hero Nick Cooper, a federal agent who works for the Department of Analysis and Response. His job is to track down and terminate criminal abnorms who use their gifts for ill. The agent is himself an abnorm, with a gift for predictive analysis that allows him to see what will happen before it happens and react preemptively.”

“He is also the father of a Brilliant daughter. As he infiltrates a radical group of Brilliants who plan to incite a civil war, he uses his own gifts against his Brilliant enemies, like an assassin who perceives time faster than his opponents. When Cooper is ordered to hunt down John Smith — the country’s most elusive and most dangerous abnorm — everything Cooper believes in will be called into question. As one of the abnorms he’s hunting tells him, “You can’t stop the future. All you can do is pick a side.””

On Tuesday, actor Kanwaljit Singh took to his social media handle and confirmed the news of his mother-in-law Bharti Jaffery’s demise. For the unversed, Bharti Jaffery was the daughter of legendary cinema actor Ashok Kumar. She died after a prolonged illness.

Along with some unseen photos of Bharti, Kanwaljit wrote a caption that read, “Our beloved *Bharat jaffrey*, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grand mother, Aunt, Neighbhour, Friend and inspiration has departed us today 20 Sep. We will bring her home at 1.30 pm today for her final goodbye at 403 Ashok Kumar Towers, 47 Union Park, Chembur 71, and thereafter cremate her at Cherai Crematorium, Chembur Camp.” Many from Singh’s followers flooded the comments section with prayers for the late actor.

Meanwhile, Nandita Puri told ETimes, “Bharti Jaffrey was a vivacious and warm person and everyone will miss this affection and warmth. Though Anuradha (Patel) and Kanwaljit (Singh) are family friends, Bharti di endeared us to her by her thoughtful gestures. She never forgot to wish me every birthday. Or pick up a souvenir from her trips. I will miss her very much. And not forgetting she was an extremely talented actress.”

According to a report by PTI, cause of death and age could not be immediately confirmed. Jaffery was well known for her performances in Kalpana Lajmi’s 2001 release, Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence starring Raveena Tandon and director Jayoo’s Devi Ahilya Bai.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has bought another flat. At the age of 79, the actor has continued his reign with property investments. If the latest reports are to be believed, Big B has purchased a plush 12,000 sq ft flat in the Four Bungalows area of Mumbai. While the cost of the same is unknown, reports say that the actor won’t move out of his residence but this property is another investment.

It was earlier reported that the megastar bought a 5,184 sq ft property in Mumbai in 2020 December but it was registered only in April 2021. Reportedly, the property is worth a whopping Rs. 31 crore, project Atlantis by a Tier-2 builder, Crystal Group. He had paid a stamp duty of Rs. 62 lakh taking advantage of the Maharashtra Government’s stamp duty waiver of 2 percent until March 31, 2021. As per reports, the property comes with six car parks and is located on the 27th and 28th floors.

Meanwhile, his duplex apartment in Mumbai is rented out by Kriti Sanon who paid staggering Rs. 60 lakh as the security deposit, as reported in December 2021. She apparently pays rent of around Rs. 10 lakh per month.

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan was most recently seen in Brahmastra with Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy. It had a cameo of Shah Rukh Khan with glimpses of Deepika Padukone and Dimple Kapadia. He will next star in Sooraj Barjatya’s Unnchai with Boman Irani and Anupam Kher. He has also signed Nag Ashwin’s next with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone and The Intern remake with Deepika Padukone.

Hollywood actress Sandra Oh, known for Grey’s Anatomy and Killing Eve, also attended late Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral for paying respects to the British Monarch on Monday. Queen Elizabeth died peacefully at her home in Balmoral, Scotland, on September 8 at the age of 96. The late British monarch had the longest reign in history, 70 years.

According to People, Oh was a part of the Canadian delegation, which also included Olympic swimming champion Mark Tewksbury and musician Gregory Charles, led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau. The actress was born in Nepean, Ontario. Oh was dressed in all black attire with a Canadian badge pinned in front.

In June, Oh, who is a dual Canadian and U.S. citizen, was appointed to the Order of Canada as an Officer for her “artistic career filled with memorable stage, television and film roles in Canada and abroad.” As the report states, the honor is the second highest civilian honor which can be granted to Canadians and was created by the Queen in 1967.

On the work front, Oh is best known for her roles on TV series like Killing Eve and Grey’s Anatomy, and films like Sideways and Under the Tuscan Sun. She also recently lent her voice to the animated Disney-Pixar film Turning Red. She will next lend her voice to the animated feature Window Horses and appear in Mina Shum’s Meditation Park.
