South Korean pop group EXO’s member Xiumin is reportedly returning to star in a new drama titled Sajangdol Mart (romanized title). In response to reports of Xiumin’s casting in the drama, SM Entertainment confirmed, “Xiumin will be leading the new drama ‘Sajangdol Mart.’”

According to Korean media portal Soompi, Sajangdol Mart is a drama that depicts the various stories that unfold as past idol group members gather together to run a supermarket.

The drama will be helmed by producing director (PD) Lee Yoo Yeon and the broadcasting schedule has yet to be confirmed. Xiumin first made his drama debut in 2015 by starring in Falling for Challenge followed by the film Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River.

Recently, Xiumin also announced the upcoming release of his solo debut album Brand New on September 26. The release will make him the seventh member of nine-piece pop band EXO to go solo, following the footsteps of bandmates Baekhyun, Chen, Suho, Lay, Kai and D.O in doing so.

South Korean actor Kim Young Dae is reportedly in talks to star in new fantasy romance drama titled The Moon that Rises During the Day (literal translation), a new drama adaptation of the hit webtoon of the same name.

According to Korean tabloid Soompi, the actor’s agency clarified that the actor – who has been offered the leading role of Doha – had not yet officially accepted the role, stating, “Kim Young Dae has received a casting offer for ‘The Moon that Rises During the Day’ and is currently in talks.”

As per the report, The Moon that Rises During the Day tells a chilling and heartbreaking love story that spans 1,500 years. Moving back and forth between the past and present, the drama will follow a man for whom time has stopped and a woman who “flows like a river.”

On the work front, Kim Young Dae is best known for the MBC high school drama Extraordinary You. He also appeared in the SBS television series The Penthouse: War In Life and the KBS2 television series Cheat on Me If You Can. Most recently, he starred in tvN drama Shooting Stars alongside Lee Sung Kyung.

South Korean female pop group Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung and actor Yoon Bak have been confirmed to star together in new romantic comedy drama titled Please Send a Fan Letter (literal title).

According to Korean media portal Soompi, directed by Jung Sang Hee, the drama follows the story of an actress who faces the biggest crisis in her life in the entertainment industry and a man who has to protect his daughter’s pure heart by writing fake replies to her fan letters.

Sooyoung will take on the role of Han Kang Hee, a top star who is facing the biggest crisis in her life in the entertainment industry because of a fan letter. Meanwhile, Yoon Bak will portray the warm and positive character of Bang Jung Suk, an unmarried father raising his daughter, who is suffering from leukemia, on his own. wants to make his daughter’s wishes come true since she is going through painful chemotherapy.

The production team shared, “We have completed the perfect cast lineup. Sooyoung and Yoon Bak’s amazing synchronization with their characters as well as the two actors’ chemistry and synergy are key points to keep an eye on. Please look forward to a heartwarming story that will simultaneously bring excitement and comfort.”

Please Send a Fan Letter is slated to premiere in November 2022.

Hollywood actor Timothée Chalamet, who is coming off his latest outing – cannibal coming-of-age film Bones and All – shared that in his upcoming musical Wonka, the actor has seven musical numbers.

As shared by Variety, in a recent interview with British Vogue, Chalamet teased the upcoming movie and reacted to the internet jokes and said, “You know what’s really funny about that is it’s so misleading. The movie is so sincere, it’s so joyous,” he said, adding that he has seven musical numbers.

Despite the jokes, Timothée Chalamet said that choosing the movie helped him realize the kind of work he wants to continue doing, “I hate to say it, but the dream as an artist is to throw whatever the f**k you want at the wall, you know? And I guess what I’m realizing is that one’s personal life, one’s adult life, can be quite boring, and the artist’s life can still be extraordinary.”

Wonka is slated to hit theaters December 15, 2023.

Kirti Kulhari and Angad Bedi will soon be seen together in a futuristic drama set to be directed by Gaurav Dave. The film is said to be an experimental film with a futuristic theme about a couple. Readers would recall that the duo was last seen sharing screen space in Pink which went on to win several accolades including the National Award.

A source close to the film confirmed the details and said, “The shoot of the film was done in 2022 and is a very new concept-heavy film which is about a couple in a dystopian sense of the future.  The film questions the severe impact of modern life and technology and has been directed by Gaurav Dave”.

While many details of the said film are currently kept under wraps, it is being that it is a short film. It is being backed by Siddharth Roy Kapur and will soon release on a streaming platform.
