Bringing together Shershaah Sidharth Malhotra and Shivaay Ajay Devgn for the first time, Indra Kumar’s Thank God will feature a unique storyline of a common man Sidharth Malhotra who challenges the bookkeeper of heaven Chitragupt. The posters that were released a day ago, have already garnered ample curiosity and the recently released trailer has only further amped up the intrigue factor. The film also features Rakul Preet Singh in a pivotal role.

Rakul Preet Singh had described in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama that her forthcoming film will be something like where “Munnabhai meets Oh My God”. The trailer of Thank God is a social comedy that questions some important concepts of life, related to good karma and bad karma, and what qualifies as sins and virtues, among others. Besides that, fans are also in for a treat, as they will see Sidharth Malhotra and Ajay Devgn in roles that they have never played before.

The trailer releases on the same day as Brahmastra hit the theatres. However, it is yet to be known if the makers will screen it alongside the film in theatres. “It’s not clear yet whether Thank God’s trailer will be shown in the theatres on September 9,” said a source to Bollywood Hungama.

Interestingly, the makers are releasing the trailer of the film a month ago before the release date. “They decided to unveil the trailer more than a month before the film’s release. The promo will give the audiences an idea about the film and would leave them wanting for more,” added the source.

Thank God is directed by Indra Kumar of Dhamaal fame. Indra Kumar’s Maruti International along with T-Series, Soham Rockstar, and Anand Pandit Motion Pictures has produced the film. It’ll be released in cinemas on October 25 and will clash with Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu.

Neelam Kothari Soni is garnering praises for her splendid portrayal in Netflix’s show Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. While the show features her ongoing dilemma to return to the industry, a switch from her current jewelry business, the actress seems to have found a show that suits her taste. In her recent announcement, she revealed that she has signed up for the popular web series Made in Heaven which will return on Amazon Prime with Season 2.

Speaking about the response she received for Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives 2, a source close to the actress said, “The show had Neelam playing herself and she has successfully struck a chord with the audience due to her adorable and graceful persona. People have been sharing clips of Neelam from the show that depict her not-much shown, funnier and outgoing self.”

“In one of the episodes, Neelam shared the news about her stint in Zoya Akhtar’s celebrated and much talked about Made in Heaven 2. Neelam Kothari Soni’s stint in the second season of Zoya Akhtar’s popular web series that shall also feature her husband Samir Soni and Sanjay Kapoor has left fans cheering and rooting for their favorite actress,” confirmed the source.

On the other hand, Neelam went on to speak about her new project adding, “I was elated when I heard the script. Zoya’s craft is really unmatchable. The fact that I get to share screen space with Samir is absolutely thrilling! Neeraj Ghaywan is a gifted director. I am sure the audience is going to love seeing me, Samir and Sanjay, together on the screen.”

Speaking of Made In Heaven, the show features Sobhita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur as Delhi-based wedding planners along with Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin playing pivotal roles. The last season ended with Sobhita discovering her husband’s played by Jim affair with his childhood friend, played by Kalki. The show also loosely touches upon the topics like dowry and homosexuality. After receiving much appreciation for its first season, the makers decided to bring it back with Season 2.

Popstar Harry Styles, during his return to Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night, took a moment to address the spit-gate incident that has been making headlines and joked about the viral video footage of him spitting on Chris Pine following Don’t Worry Darling‘s Venice Film Festival premiere.

“This is our tenth show at Madison Square Garden. It’s wonderful, wonderful, wonderful to be back in New York. I just popped very quickly to Venice to spit on Chris Pine,” Styles says jokingly in video circling the internet. “But fret not, we’re back!” Styles’ upcoming film Don’t Worry Darling has been at the center of the film festival’s rumour mill.

Shortly following Monday’s Don’t Worry Darling premiere, internet was flooded with the speculation that Styles spit on costar Pine when he bent down to take his seat next to the actor. “This is a ridiculous story — a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation,” Pine’s rep said in a statement to Variety.

“Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine. There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.” A source also told the outlet that there was no tension around Styles and Pine during the premiere and that a potential spitting incident was flagged by no one during the event.

Hollywood actor Benedict Cumberbatch has joined Jodie Comer in the upcoming survival thriller film The End We Start From directed by Mahalia Belo.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, based on the heart-wrenching novel by Megan Hunter and adapted for the screen by BAFTA-nominated Alice Birch (Normal People, Succession), the film tells a hopeful story about the trials and joys of new motherhood in the midst of devastating floods that swallow up the city of London.

“When an environmental crisis sees London submerged by flood waters, a young family is torn apart in the chaos,” according to a plot description. “As a woman and her new-born try to find their way home, the profound novelty of motherhood is brought into sharp focus in this dystopian portrayal of family survival and hope.”

Jodie Comer said, “My character is ordinary and extraordinary, both her very personal life and the world around her have been turned upside down and she is dealing with the unknown at every turn. Her story is about the quiet heroics of determination, devotion, bravery and love.”

Alongside Cumberbatch and Comer, the film also stars Mark Strong, Katherine Waterston, Joel Fry, Gina McKee and Nina Sosanya. The Killing Eve actor also shared a first look at the project on Instagram. The End We Start From is being adapted by writer Alice Birch who’s known for her work on Normal People and Succession. A release date has yet to be announced.

Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick is on board the director’s chair, marking her directorial debut with the true-life thriller The Dating Game.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film, from a Black List script by Ian McDonald, is described as the stranger-than-fiction story of Cheryl Bradshaw, a bachelorette candidate on hit ’70s TV matchmaking show The Dating Game who picked the funny and handsome Bachelor Number One, Rodney Alcala.

“But Bradshaw’s fairy-tale date takes a terrifying turn when the bachelor drops his charming façade to reveal the truth: Alcala is in fact a psychopathic serial killer.” Kendrick is set to direct, produce and star in the upcoming thriller that is based on a true story. Alongside Kendrick, J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules are attached to produce through BoulderLight Pictures and Roy Lee and Miri Yoon via Vertigo Entertainment.

Screenwriter McDonald will executive produce. The film is currently in preproduction with principal photography set for late October. “I’ve loved this script from the moment I read it. And while I was obviously thrilled to be playing the character of Cheryl, I felt so connected to the story, the tone and the themes around gender and intimacy, that when the opportunity came up to direct the film, I jumped at it,” said Kendrick, “It feels meant to be.”

Alcala, who died last July on death row, was convicted of murdering six women and one girl in the 1970s. He became prominently known as the Dating Game Killer because he appeared on the matchmaking show amid his murder spree.
