On the morning of Friday, 5th May 2023, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Ali Abbas Zafar announced that their next, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will release during the Eid 2024 weekend. However, this wasn’t a decision that was taken overnight. According to reliable sources, Akshay Kumar and Ali Abbas Zafar were clear on not clashing with another Hindi film during the Eid weekend. The slot is synonymous with Salman Khan film and hence, as a ritual, Ali picked up a call on his mentor, Salman to check if there was any film ready for an Eid opening.

“Salman respects Akshay and considers him to be his true friend. He was very happy with the decision of an Eid release for Akshay and confirmed that he doesn’t have a film lined up for Eid slot at this point in time. He wants his two friends, Ali and Akshay, to entertain the audience with their entertainer during Eid 2024,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

Don’t be surprised, if you see Salman promote the film closer to its release on Eid next year. “Salman is fond of Akshay and Ali, and is more than happy to see his friends take up a release date that’s known for his films. Earlier in 2022, Ajay Devgn had brought his directorial, Runway 34 on Eid. Much like Ali and Akshay, Ajay too had picked up the call on Salman before deciding on the date. Salman is friends with most of the actors in the industry and it’s a common respect that they all share with each other before announcing a date,” the source further told us. The same thing happened in 2013 as well with Chennai Express, when Rohit Shetty had checked with Salman on his Eid 2013 release before announcing the entertainer with Shah Rukh Khan for the festive slot.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is produced by Pooja Entertainment and is slated to release in April next year. It stars Prithviraj Sukumaran as the villain.

One of the most anticipated films of 2023, Adipurush aimed at creating history with its global trailer launch that was held on May 9, 2023. After the team dropped a new poster featuring  the leading man Prabhas, the team held a special trailer launch event on the Om Raut directorial wherein the trailer was unveiled globally – not just in India, but across 70 countries, making to be a global event! The film also features Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh, and Devdatta Gajanan Nage.

Inspired by the tale of Ramayana, Adipurush traces the journey of Raghav when they are shunned away to carry out the promise that he had given his step-mother Kaikeyi, of spending 14 years in the jungle. Kriti Sanon essays the role of Raghav’s wife Janaki whereas Sunny Singh is the obedient brother, Laxman. The film features Devdatta Gajanan Nage as the loyal follower, Hanuman (Bajrangi) whereas Saif Ali Khan is Lankeshwar. The film recreates the epic war of Ramayana when Ram had gathered the entire clan of Vanar to save Sita from the clutches of Ravana, who kidnaps her after losing her in her Swayamvar. In the trailer, we can witness glimpses from the story of Ramayana, where Ravana changes form to kidnap Sita, the entire clan of Vanar being led by Ramayana on Ram Setu (path built on sea towards Lanka) etc.

The trailer launch was one of its kind as it released across countries including the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, the UK and Europe, Russia, Egypt, and several Asian countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Japan.

Directed by Om Raut, Adipurush will be making its international premiere at the Tribeca Festival in New York. Produced by T-Series, Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles, it is scheduled to release worldwide on June 16, 2023.

KL Rahul, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League, has withdrawn from the ongoing tournament and will undergo surgery for an injury. In a social media post, the Indian cricketer informed his fans that he won’t be participating in the remaining IPL matches or the World Test Championship next month. Suniel Shetty, Rahul’s father-in-law, responded to the news. While expressing his well-wishes for Rahul’s surgery he also noted that his absence from the WTC would create an opportunity for another player to showcase their skills.

In an interaction with ETimes, Shetty asserted, “The Indian team has a marvellous bunch of cricketers. They have good bench strength. I think it’s an opportunity for some other player to get to the WTC final and shine. No player is bigger than the game.”

For the unversed, Rahul suffered an injury while fielding during the IPL 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday. “After careful consideration and consultation with the medical team, it’s been concluded that I’ll be undergoing surgery on my thigh shortly. My focus will be on my rehabilitation and recovery in the coming weeks. It’s a tough call to make, but I know it’s the right one to ensure a full recovery,” read an excerpt of his Instagram post.

Mumbai Police has locked in on a suspect who allegedly has been sending threatening emails to superstar Salman Khan. Readers would recall that we had earlier reported about the actor receiving an email from gangster Goldie Brar, which was a death threat, after which Khan’s security was beefed up. Now we hear that the alleged suspect has nothing to do with Goldy Brar or gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. It seems that it is a medical student in UK, hailing originally from Haryana.

Mumbai Police has issued a lookout notice for this student who has been studying medicine in United Kingdom. He is in his final year and originally hails from Haryana, India. Reports suggest that the police have ruled it out as a serious threat and has alleged that it was a prank that was being pulled on the star. If reports are to be believed, the alleged suspect had started sending death threats to Salman Khan after reading reports about it on social media. Talking about details of this suspect, reports have it that the police is currently keeping the same under wraps because the process of deporting him to India is underway and it is being said that the student is likely return to his home after the term ends.

Salman Khan, who recently appeared on Aap Ki Adalat, had opened up about the immense security which is being provided to the superstar after he received multiple threatening emails. Khan had said, “There are some threats, which is why the security is there. I am doing whatever I have been asked to do. I have got to be very careful… I go everywhere with full security.” The actor had also gone to elaborate that while the massive security has impacted his lifestyle, he takes ample measures to ensure that it doesn’t inconvenience or trouble to those around him.

This project is being produced by Balaji Telefilms Limited and Anil Kapoor Film Communication Network. Ektaa R Kapoor is known for her diverse body of work that includes popular TV shows such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and hit films like Dirty Picture and Lipstick Under My Burkha. Rhea Kapoor, on the other hand, is known for her work as a producer on critically acclaimed films like Aisha and Veere Di Wedding, which she jointly produced with Ektaa.
