In a world of fleeting uncertainty, the power of love and devotion is set to take centre stage in Colors upcoming show, ‘Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyaag Taandav’. Created and produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Swastik Productions, ‘Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyaag Taandav’, stars Ram Yashvardhan, who is known for his roles in mythological shows and Ishqbaaz fame Subha Rajput in the lead roles of Shiv and Shakti respectively. This show is expected to delve into the first love story of the universe, exploring the journey of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati’s love, duty, sacrifice and separation that translates into Tap, Tyaag, and Taandav.

Set to play the role of Shiv, Ram Yashvardhan said, “It is the highest honour to be essaying Lord Shiva in Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyaag Taandav, a show created by the maestro of mythological storytelling Siddharth Kumar Tewary and presented by COLORS. Amid the transient nature of everything that surrounds us, this show brings a timeless love story that transcends all emotions. As a Shiv bhakt myself, this show means a lot more than a role to me and is my tribute to the supreme lord. Many of us say that work is worship and, in my case, it’s true and how.”

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) has wrapped up the shoot of the first out of its four anthology films under their My Melbourne project. The film, which is yet untitled, is directed by Onir and the Australian filmmaker William Duan.

It stars Arka Das, Mouli Ganguli (an actor from Australia, not to be confused by the Indian actress of the same name), and Jackson Gallagher. The film was shot in five days and the story is based on grief and forgiveness. The film follows the reunion of a queer Indian man, Indraneel, played by Arka, and his father, Mihir, played by Mouli, after many years of estrangement.

Speaking about the film and the experience, Onir said in a statement, “I am happy to be part of My Melbourne as it is a unique special film. It’s the first time such a unique cross-country initiative has been taken to bridge cultural ties and bring the two communities together using the medium of cinema. The films of My Melbourne are based on diversity and are focused on bringing forth talent locally from Melbourne and I can vouch that there are such incredible local talents waiting to be discovered and this project has done just that.”

Throwing light on his film, he added, “My film tells one such story of an integral part of diversity, bringing forth a warm story of a father trying to re-bond with his gay son. It was a great experience to work and collaborate with talent from Melbourne. I am glad that Film Victoria and Mitu Bhowmick Lange (festival director) have taken this step to celebrate cinema and diversity.”

Mitu Bhowmick Lange said, “This is a very ambitious project of love celebrating the core values of IFFM – Diversity and inclusivity. The key idea was to provide a platform to emerging creatives from diverse marginalised backgrounds from various walks and abilities of Australia, mentored by some of the world’s best filmmakers. It’s an anthology of four stories weaved into one feature film called My Melbourne based on authentic migrant experiences. We cannot be what we cannot see.”

The other three films in the anthology will be helmed by Kabir Khan, Imtiaz Ali and Rima Das.

Interest in the upcoming movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has skyrocketed since the trailer was released. After the enormous success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, in 2021, fans are excited to return to the Spider-Man universe. This time is particularly special for India because our very own Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar, makes a debut on the big screen. The Hindi and Punjabi versions of the film will feature cricketer Shubman Gill’s voice, which will make Pavitr’s character even more special for Indian viewers. 

With his batting prowess, Gill has been quite the draw for cricket fans, and as Pavitr Prabhakar in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, he is now prepared to win over all cricket fans across India. Shubman Gill, who confesses that Spider-Man has been his favourite superhero, has made a big entry into the world of Spider-Man. He becomes the first sports personality to lend his voice to any film, and that too one of the biggest Hollywood franchises. 

Speaking about lending his voice to the Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar, Shubman shared, “I have grown up watching Spider-Man, and he is one of the most relatable superheroes. Since the movie will be debuting the Indian Spider-Man for the first time on screen, getting to be the voice of our Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar, in the Hindi and Punjabi languages was such a remarkable experience for me. Already, I feel superhuman. I am eagerly anticipating the release of this movie.” 

Shony Panjikaran, General Manager and Head of Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI) India, shares, “June 2 will indeed be a momentous occasion for all Spider-Man fans across the country, and we are sure that everyone will shower the same love on this film as they did on Spider-Man: No Way Home. Alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar has been lodged in Mandoli Jail in Delhi over the last few months after being alleged of quite a few financial frauds. He was said to be in a relationship with actress Jacqueline Fernandez. Sukesh has been writing love letters to the actress from jail. He has now written a fourth letter to her to express his love, like he has done in previous occasions. But this time he also praised her performance at the recent Filmfare Awards.

In a letter issued through his lawyer Anant Malik, Sukesh wrote, as quoted by Hindustan Times, “My love, my baby Jacqueline, my bomma I watched the Filmfare Awards on April 28. I should confess that you were outstanding, and your performance was the best. In the whole show your dance act was the showstopper baby, you were elegant, classy, super-hot and you have made me in love with you even more crazier all over again. I just have no words, you are a Bom, Super Star, My Baby Girl. I am blessed to have you in my life, My Queen. Botta Bomma, I love you to bits my everything, every second it’s only about you, you know how crazily I love you, also know how crazily you love me.”

Sukesh also said that he has a surprise planned on Jacqueline’s birthday on August 11. “I have been missing you way too much. Also, I have a super surprise for your birthday, you are gonna love it. I am keeping my promise! Can’t wait! Baby I just want you to keep smiling, I am here, the countdown for the truth has begun, don’t worry baby,” he added.

The last time Sukesh wrote a letter to Jacqueline from jail was last month where he also wished her for Easter.

Estée Lauder has announced rising Bollywood actress and former Miss World, Manushi Chhillar, as its newest Global Brand Ambassador. Manushi previously served as the face of Estée Lauder India’s Advanced Night Repair campaign in Fall 2022 and will appear in India’s upcoming campaign for Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup, debuting later this month.
