Since Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman visited Pune, he has been constantly in the headlines. For the unversed, Rahman was in the city for a concert along with the 19-year-old Tazakistani singer Abdu Rozik. However, there was a bit of controversy. During the concert in Pune on April 30, the police arrived at the venue and instructed the performers to stop the show, citing that the concert had exceeded the permissible 10 pm time limit for noise pollution.

Though AR Rahman and the police department have already clarified the matter, the inspector, who stopped the show, talked about it in detail. In an interview with Pune Mirror, the cop said, “I do not want to give any more comments. Anyway, as a police officer, I am not supposed to give interviews to the media. The Supreme Court has set a deadline of 10 pm after which no loud music is allowed to be played.”

Speaking further, he also clarified that he’d tried approaching the organisers first and that he walked onto the stage only after they didn’t respond. He asserted, “I tried to contact the organisers but they did not respond. Therefore, I had to go onto the stage and ask Rahman and other performers to stop the music. I had no option as it was past the permissible time.”

As mentioned above, earlier, AR Rahman reacted to the incident with a post on his social media handle. He had written, “Did we all just have the ‘Rockstar’ moment on stage yesterday? I think we did! We were overwhelmed by the love of the audience and kept wanting to give more… Pune, thank you once again for such a memorable evening. Here’s a little snippet of our roller coaster ride;).”

Yash Raj Films (YRF) has made it clear that it has ambitions to produce some of the most clutter-breaking and disruptive content on digital. Under the banner YRF Entertainment, the company now announces its third project titled Vijay 69, a quirky, slice-of-life film for OTT, starring Anupam Kher.

Vijay 69 will narrate the life of a sexagenarian man, played by Anupam, who decides to compete in a triathlon contest at the age of 69! It will be directed by Akshay Roy, who has previously directed Meri Pyaari Bindu with YRF. He has also worked on acclaimed films like Mira Nair’s The Namesake, Aamir Khan’s directorial debut Taare Zameen Par and Deepa Mehta’s Water as an Assistant Director.

Vijay 69 is being produced by YRF’s homegrown Maneesh Sharma, who has previously directed Band Baaja Baaraat and produced Dum Laga Ke Haisha & Sui Dhaaga: Made In India. He is currently directing YRF Spy Universe’s next offering Tiger 3 starring Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif.

A month back, YRF Entertainment announced its second OTT show, a gritty crime thriller titled Mandala Murders! Created & directed by Gopi Puthran of Mardaani 2 fame, the edge-of-the-seat entertainer will star Vaani Kapoor as the lead, with Vaibhav Raj Gupta co-starring. He has been cast as the leading man for the first time after his brilliant performance in Gullak! Manan Rawat, who has previously worked as an Associate Director on many YRF films, will be the co-director of the series.

YRF’s OTT slate also comprises the much-awaited The Railway Men based on the deadly 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy. This series features R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyendu and Babil Khan in the lead roles and is a tribute to the brave railway workers who saved scores of lives on this ill-fated night of devastation and horror.

Adipurush has been in the news ever since it was announced. The film, directed by Om Raut, stars Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. And now, the excitement surrounding the movie has reached new heights as the team is gearing up to release the trailer. As per our sources, the trailer of Adipurush will be released on May 9. However, before the official release, the team has decided to exclusively showcase the trailer to Prabhas’ fans in Hyderabad on May 8.

A report by PinkVilla quoted a source saying, “Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, Om Raut and Bhushan Kumar will unveil the trailer of Adipurush at a grand event in Mumbai on May 9, 2023. It’s approximately a 3-minute-long trailer that will take the audience into the world of Ramayana.” In addition, the report also mentioned that the team Adipurush have decided to showcase the trailer of the movie exclusively to Prabhas fans in Hyderabad on May 8, before releasing it to the world on May 9.

The source further added, “It’s going to be a 3D screening for the fans in Hyderabad. Prabhas and the entire team of Adipurush believe that fans are the support system for any film and it’s a gesture from their end to appreciate all the support given by the fans to Adipurush over the last 2 years.”

Readers may recall that Bollywood Hungama has recently reported that the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan might be postponed. The flick, which is scheduled for June 2, is now expected to release on June 29. Commenting on the same, the source told PinkVilla, “Adipurush will release on June 16 as scheduled. There will be no change in the date based on other films and they are clear on bringing the film across the globe on June 16. It’s going to be a 37-day-long campaign leading to the film’s release. There are some great devotional songs in the album which will be out post the trailer.”

Sheezan Khan, who is the main suspect in the death case of his ex-girlfriend and co-star Tunisha Sharma, had filed an application in Maharashtra’s Vasai court to direct the police to return his passport, which was previously confiscated during the investigation of the ongoing case. The Vasai court has scheduled a hearing for the petition on Tuesday (May 02). In the application, Sheezan mentioned that he needs his passport to travel overseas for shooting purposes.

On Wednesday, the Vasai court approved his plea for the temporary return of his passport. While speaking about the same, his lawyer Shailendra Mishra also confirmed that the actor is participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi 13. An Indian Express report quoted the lawyer saying, “We are grateful to the court, as our application has been allowed and Sheezan Khan has been permitted to travel abroad for Khatron Ke Khiladi. I was surprised by the submissions made by the prosecution as their reply and argument supported our case, and their attempt to mislead the court was also thwarted at the threshold.”

For the unversed, following the death of his ex-girlfriend and co-star Tunisha Sharma, Sheezan Khan was taken into custody on December 25 and was charged with abetment of suicide based on a complaint filed by Tunisha’s mother. After 70 days in custody, he was finally granted bail. In the wake of Tunisha’s death and Sheezan’s arrest, the TV show they were working on, Ali Baba, underwent changes, with Abhishek Nigam and Manul Chudasama being cast in the lead roles.

Speaking of the Rohit Shetty show, besides Khan, it will also feature Bigg Boss 16 fame Shiv Thakare, Archana Gautam, Kundali Bhagya actor Anjum Fakih, Kumkum Bhagya actors Ruhi Chaturvedi and Arjit Taneja, Dhai Kilo Prem fame Anjali Anand, TV and web star Nyrraa M Banerji and former Roadies winner Soundous Moufakir.
