EXCLUSIVE: CBFC asks for changes in 22 scenes in Sunny Deol-starrer Jaat; removes ‘B*******d’; replaces ‘Bharat’ with ‘Hamara’ and ‘Central’ with ‘Local’

The Sunny Deol-starrer Jaat is all set to release tomorrow, April 10, and the excitement is visible. This is because it is Sunny’s immediate next film after the monstrous blockbuster, Gadar 2 (2023); moreover, just like the sequel, Jaat is also an action entertainer, which has added to its appeal. The censor process was completed just two days before release, on April 8, and in this article, we’ll throw light on the cut list.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) replaced an unspecified abusive word with ‘Madarjaat’ and in another scene, the cuss words were removed and replaced with ‘Nikamma’ and ‘Besharmo’. The abuse ‘B*******d’ was also replaced with an appropriate word. A dialogue was replaced with ‘Khata nahin, pita nahin’. Surprisingly, ‘Bharat’ was replaced with ‘Hamara’ while ‘Central’ was changed to ‘Local’.

The CBFC then censored several visuals as well. A scene was replaced with ‘Mera joota bolega sorry’ dialogue. The visual hand gesture visuals were censored. A scene of a lady police inspector’s humiliation scene was reduced by 40% while a scene of female molestation by a male inspector was also shortened by 40%. A violent scene of a body being cut was reduced by 30%. Lastly, the visuals of the e-cigarette were removed.

The CBFC also asked the makers to replace as many as 10 scenes with CGI. These scenes are: the throat-cutting visuals (two different scenes), bloodshed head on the ice block, statue of Jesus Christ in a church, mishandling of a baby, thumb-cutting, head cutting, Indian currency notes under the feet of the crowd and national emblem on the forehead of a character during a fight sequence.

In short, Jaat had to undergo changes in 22 scenes. Due to these modifications, 2 minutes and 6 seconds of scenes were cut and replaced with appropriate visuals totalling 1 minute and 37 seconds.

Once these changes were made, Jaat was passed by the CBFC with a U/A 16+ certificate. The length of the film, as mentioned on the certificate, is 153.31 minutes. In other words, Jaat is 2 hours 33 minutes and 31 seconds long.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge: Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol starrer to be immortalized with bronze statue in Leicester Square, London

In a landmark moment for Indian cinema, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) will be the first Indian film to be honoured with a bronze statue in London’s Leicester Square. The statue, featuring lead stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in an iconic pose from the 1995 film, will be installed this spring as part of the ‘Scenes in the Square’ movie trail.

The announcement by Heart of London Business Alliance also marks the beginning of DDLJ’s 30-year celebrations. Directed by Aditya Chopra and produced by Yash Raj Films, the romantic drama is considered one of the most successful Hindi films of all time. The statue will be positioned outside the Odeon cinema on the eastern terrace of Leicester Square— a location that also features briefly in the film during a scene where Raj and Simran cross paths for the first time. Other London locations showcased in DDLJ include King’s Cross Station, Tower Bridge, Hyde Park, and Horseguards Avenue.

Mark Williams, Deputy Chief Executive at Heart of London Business Alliance, said, “It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to add to our trail Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, who are such titans of international cinema. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is one of the most successful and important Bollywood films of all time, and we’re excited by the prospect of bringing to the trail the first film that actually features Leicester Square as a location. The statue is a fitting tribute to the global popularity of Bollywood and a celebration of London’s rich diversity. We’re in no doubt it will attract fans from all around the world to Leicester Square, the home of film and entertainment.”

Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, also shared, “When Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) was released 30 years ago, the film became a defining moment for Indian cinema and changed the face of the industry, capturing the hearts of everyone who saw it all over the globe. We’re thrilled to be the first Indian film to be represented in ‘Scenes in the Square’. It also marks 30 years of DDLJ, a film that has spread love and joy globally and shows the cultural impact it has had in UK. We are honoured that our superstars and our film are being recognized on the world stage alongside the Hollywood elite, from Gene Kelly to Laurel & Hardy to Harry Potter. This statue will be a great way to express the international appeal of Indian movies and build bridges amongst communities through cinema.”

The statue will join other notable characters in the trail including Harry Potter, Laurel & Hardy, Gene Kelly, Mr. Bean, Mary Poppins, and more. As part of DDLJ’s ongoing legacy, a new stage adaptation Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical is also set to premiere at the Manchester Opera House on May 29, 2025.

John Abraham REACTS to the ban on The Diplomat in Middle Eastern countries
A report by Hindustan Times quoted the actor saying, “People are very myopic in their vision. This is not an anti-Pakistan film at all, we showed that the judiciary system in Pakistan is honest. We showed an honest Pakistani lawyer and an honest Pakistani judge. Even the patrolling cars that are taking us to the border had honest policemen. They are actually fighting against the other guys. So, we’ve in no way demeaned anybody.”

Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 4 to feature time travel and emotional depth amid high-scale VFX

Krrish 4 is shaping up to be Hrithik Roshan’s most ambitious project to date—not just because he’s returning as the superhero, but also because he’s stepping into the director’s chair for the first time. The fourth installment in the popular franchise is reportedly centered around time travel, with a complex narrative and technical scale reminiscent of Infinity War and Endgame.

A source revealed, “The plan is for Krrish to move through different timelines—past and future—to eliminate a major threat. While high on VFX and production, the film will stay rooted in family emotions and relationships.”

Fans can also expect the return of familiar faces, including Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi, and Rekha, all reprising their roles from previous installments.

There’s also buzz around Nora Fatehi joining the Krrish franchise. Known for her commanding screen presence and agility, she’s expected to take on a fierce, possibly combat-heavy role, adding a fresh dynamic to the superhero saga.

Krrish 4 has undergone several script revisions before arriving at the final version. Hrithik Roshan is now teaming up with YRF Studios to bring this ambitious vision to the screen. Buzz suggests Hrithik might appear in a triple role—playing Rohit, Krrish, and the main antagonist. However, when contacted, the actor’s team denied the speculation.

Hrithik Roshan is currently busy shooting for War 2. He is expected to dive into Krrish 4 soon after wrapping up the action-packed sequel.

Saif Ali Khan Stab Attack Case: Police submit over 1000-page chargesheet with crucial forensic evidence

In a significant breakthrough in the Saif Ali Khan stabbing case, the Mumbai Police has filed a detailed chargesheet exceeding 1000 pages, consolidating all the evidence gathered against the arrested accused, Shariful Islam. The development marks a crucial step forward in the ongoing investigation that shocked the nation earlier this year.

“This chargesheet includes several pieces of evidence found by the police against the arrested accused, Shariful Islam. This chargesheet is more than 1000 pages long. The report of the forensic lab has also been mentioned in this chargesheet, which states that the knife pieces found at the crime scene, from Saif Ali Khan’s body and from the accused, are three pieces of the same knife,” said Mumbai Police, adding, “At the same time, the fingerprint report of the accused’s left hand found by the police during the investigation has also been mentioned.”

The detailed chargesheet reportedly includes forensic lab findings, fingerprint analysis, statements from eyewitnesses, and CCTV footage collected from the vicinity of the crime scene. As per a report by Hindustan Times, the new evidence is believed to solidify the case against Islam, who was apprehended shortly after the attack.

For those unfamiliar with the case, earlier reports suggested that the accused had broken into Saif Ali Khan’s Mumbai residence with the intent to rob the house. According to initial police findings, the attacker allegedly did not recognize that the house belonged to the Bollywood star. Khan, caught by surprise, was stabbed multiple times—suffering injuries to his back, wrist, and several other body parts. The actor underwent extensive surgery and was in recovery for several weeks.

Despite the severity of the incident, Saif Ali Khan made a strong comeback. Just a month after the attack, he was seen attending a Netflix event in Mumbai in February, reassuring fans and the media of his recovery.

The submission of the chargesheet marks a key moment in the legal proceedings, and police sources suggest that the case may now move towards trial in the coming weeks. With forensic evidence, fingerprint reports, and detailed investigative work compiled in the chargesheet, the police appear confident in their case against Shariful Islam.

Raashii Khanna speaks out on Bollywood’s South remake trend; says, “Dubbed films are anyway available to watch online”

Actress Raashii Khanna acknowledges the prevalent trend of Bollywood drawing inspiration from successful South Indian films to boost box office performance. However, she believes it’s time for the industry to shift gears. With audiences now craving original storytelling and dubbed South films easily available online, Raashii stresses the need for fresh content. In today’s pan-India cinema landscape, she agrees that Bollywood’s attempt to replicate South hits is a reality, but one that needs rethinking.

Raashii told Hindustan Times, “I can’t disagree that we do see remakes from the south quite often but I think the industry is also realising more and more that the audience needs newer content and that dubbed films are anyway available to watch online.”

She added, “With the rise of OTT platforms, language is no longer a barrier. I can sense a shift in the industry’s mindset, and I genuinely hope we start creating more original content and exploring different genres—because honestly, no one really knows what will work anymore.”

Raashii Khanna, who made her debut in 2013 with Madras Cafe, has established herself across Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil cinema. Her filmography includes titles like Oohalu Gusagusalade, Bengal Tiger, Supreme, Jai Lava Kusa, Tholi Prema, Imaikkaa Nodigal, Venky Mama, Sardar, and Aranmanai 4.

Speaking about her experience in both industries, Raashii Khanna said, “Everyone shares the same passion—to make good films and be part of them.” She added, “The only thing I can think of, except the language; which is also not a barrier anymore is that each industry is rooted in its culture. You will see those flavours of their traditional values subtly in their films. It’s amazing how united we are even in diversity because the emotions run the same through all languages. And that’s the common string.”

For The Sabarmati Report actress, working on Aghathiyaa was a valuable learning experience. She stated, “The genre was the first thing that attracted me to Aghathiyaa and then of course the story which is a perfect element of thriller, horror and fantasy. My biggest takeaway is that horror films aren’t easy to shoot. It takes a lot to bring it together. As an actress, it’s challenging in a way where you are reacting to things that aren’t really in front of you. It expands your imagination a bit also. So it was quite a learning experience. And for Aghathiyaa, they have used a lot of new technology to give the audience a good theatrical experience.”

Odela 2 trailer launch: Writer reveals “During the shoot, Tamannaah Bhatia did not wear chappals, eat non-veg”; actress BREAKS silence on Telangana Forest row: “Naa usse aap badal sakte hai aur naa main…”

Tamannaah Bhatia, Vasishta N Simha, writer Sampath Nandi, director Ashok Teja and others attended the trailer launch of the Pan-India film Odela 2 at Mumbai’s iconic Gaiety-Galaxy aka G7 single screen complex in Mumbai. Hundreds of Tamannaah fans had assembled. The actress, who looked stunning in her red dress, was overwhelmed by the love for her and Odela 2.

Odela 2 is primarily a Telugu film, and the home market of Telangana was recently in the news when its state government fell nearly 400 trees in the Kancha Gachibowli area near the University of Hyderabad for IT and infrastructure projects. The students at the university staged a massive protest and the matter even reached the Supreme Court.

Tamannaah Bhatia was asked about this, and she said, “We are artists. We make cinema and are here to entertain you all. Whenever we have to raise a point, we have to do so in an entertaining format. Jo ho raha hai, na usse aap badal sakte hai aur naa main badal sakti hoon. But our attempt is that what we feel and the message that needs to be conveyed to people, we do so through cinema. Because someone, somewhere will get impacted by it.”

She added, “I don’t mean to say that things can change in a jiffy. But the idea is that we convey an impactful story and hope that it can influence you positively. Usse hum sab ka bhala hoga.”

At the end of the event, writer Sampath Nandi said, “Before signing off, I’d like to mention a few things about Tamannaah. We shot in peak summer and yet, she did not wear chappals. She never consumed non-veg food on sets. That is the kind of dedication she has put in for Odela 2. The film will give you a great, theatrical experience. Do go to cinemas on April 17 and have a blast!”

Kajol shuts down rumours of daughter Nysa’s Bollywood debut; says, “She has decided that she’s not entering Bollywood at the moment”

Kajol and Ajay Devgn are considered among the top actors in the Hindi film industry. Naturally, people assume their children would inherit both their talent and passion for acting, and eventually step into films. However, Kajol recently made a surprising statement regarding her daughter Nysa’s potential Bollywood debut.

At a recent News18 event, Kajol was asked about her daughter Nysa’s possible Bollywood debut. The actor firmly denied any such plans, saying, “Definitely not. I think she is 22 now, or about to be, and she has decided that she’s not entering Bollywood at the moment.”

Kajol, known for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, was also asked what advice she’d offer to aspiring actors. She said she prefers seeing new talent embrace their individuality instead of following everyone’s suggestions. She added that people often advise changes to one’s physical appearance, which can be quite disheartening.

Kajol said, “Pehle baat main yeh kehna chahungi ki please don’t take advise from everybody. Most importantly ki kyunki agar aap puchenge mujhe kya karna chahiye toh 100 log khare hoke bolenge tumhe yeh karna chahiye, tumhe apna naak badlo, tumhe apna haath badlo, baalon ka colour badlo, yeh karo vo karo.”

Kajol pointed out that it’s those who stand out from the crowd who are remembered, not those who simply blend in. She emphasized that the key to success—whether in acting or on social media—is the ability to create a unique identity and carve out your own space.

On the work front, Kajol’s next project is the mythological horror film Maa, directed by Vishal Furia, who is currently making headlines for Chhorii 2 starring Nushrratt Bharuccha. The first look of Maa presents Kajol as a fierce mother determined to protect her daughter, played by Kherin Sharma. The film also stars Ronit Roy and Indraneil Sengupta in key roles and is slated for release on June 27.
