Bollywood Hungama recently reported that Content Films Productions Pvt Ltd published a notice in Atul Mohan’s Complete Cinema magazine stating that they hold 50% rights, including Intellectual Property Rights, over the upcoming film Jatadhara, as per an MoU signed by them with Prerna Arora and Shivin Narang’s Ess Kay Gee Entertainment. The notice then stated that since Ess Kay Gee Entertainment violated the terms of the MOU, Content Films Productions Pvt Ltd will take legal action against them.

Now, Jatadhara’s writer and director Venkat Kalyan has reached out to us to give their version of the story. His statement reads, “I, Venkat Kalyan, Director and Writer of the film Jatadhara, categorically state that the claims made by Content Films Productions (Mr. Rajeev Agarwal and Mr. Arvind Agarwal) regarding their alleged 50% ownership of the film’s Intellectual Property (IP) are false, baseless, and misleading.

As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the 50% IP ownership was contingent upon an investment of Rs. 10 crores in the film. However, Content Films Productions has contributed only Rs. 60 lakhs towards a film with a total budget of Rs. 20 crores. Despite their failure to meet financial commitments, they continue to make fraudulent claims, which constitutes a breach of contract, intentional harassment, and defamation.

Furthermore, Content Films Productions has defaulted on their obligations related to line production within the agreed timeline, mismanaged accounts and misbehaved with our team, leading to a professional fallout.

We strongly advise all industry professionals, including actors, directors, studios, distributors, exhibitors, OTT platforms, satellite channels, and agencies, to disregard the misleading claims made in their public notice.

We are initiating legal action for defamation and damages against Mr. Rajeev Agarwal and Mr. Arvind Agarwal in the Honorable Bombay High Court.”

Feud reaches IMPPA

Meanwhile, Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) sent out a notice to Arvind Agarwal and Rajeev Agarwal of Content Films Productions Pvt Ltd on March 11. The association is all set to hear the matter in the presence of the two parties. The notice said that “Since the matter is already scheduled for a hearing before the Arbitration Tribunal on March 16, 2025 at IMPPA, you are requested to refrain from taking any actions that may complicate or further precipitate the matter”.

On March 9, movie buffs were in for a treat as superstar Aamir Khan had a conversation with Javed Akhtar and shared fascinating trivia. A memorable moment of the afternoon was when he confessed that Rajkumar Hirani had expressed the desire to cast him for a film before 3 Idiots (2009) and after Munna Bhai MBBS (2003). However, Rajkumar later tweaked the script and turned it into Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006).

Aamir Khan didn’t stop here and told viewers what the original script was. He said, “It was set before independence, and the protagonist is a freedom fighter and a Gandhian. During lathi charge, he gets severely hurt and slips into a coma. He wakes up 40-45 years later. The world has progressed, but he doesn’t know that Gandhi has been killed. He’s still in the mid-40s. That’s why he talks to Gandhi.”

The idea was fascinating, and many felt a film on this idea should be made. Bollywood Hungama, however, has learned that a Gujarati movie has already been made on this subject. It is titled ‘Bapu Kyan Chhe?’. It stars Dharmendra Gohil (of 102 Not Out and Vijay 69 fame), Avani Modi (of Calendar Girls fame), Mihir Bhuta and others. It is the story of a man who works with Mahatma Gandhi and slips into a coma during the stampede that ensues when Bapu is assassinated. He wakes up in the present day and wishes to meet Bapu. This is when his family and loved ones get people to dress up not just as Mahatma Gandhi but also as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel and others and appear in front of him.

Sadly, ‘Bapu Kyan Chhe?’ never got a release. The cast and crew interacted with the press way back in 2016 and in 2017, there were reports that it would arrive in cinemas that year. Sadly, that never happened. The film is written and directed by Pankaj Trivedi, who has written films like Apna Sapna Money Money, the TV show ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’ etc.

Prerna Arora was in the news some years ago for the wrong reasons after she was accused of financial mismanagement. After this episode, she made a fresh start and backed several interesting projects. But it seems like she’s going to be back in the news for legal issues. As per a notice published in Atul Mohan’s Complete Cinema magazine dated 8th and 15th March 2025, a production house has decided to take legal action against Prerna Arora and her partner due to a breach of contract.

The notice states that Content Films Productions Pvt Ltd, a part of Rajtaru Studios Limited, signed an MOU on December 23, 2024, with Prerna Arora and Shivin Narang’s Ess Kay Gee Entertainment. As per this MoU, Content Films Productions Pvt Ltd holds 50% rights, including Intellectual Property Rights, over the upcoming film Jatadhara. The notice then states that since Ess Kay Gee Entertainment violated the terms of the MOU, Content Films Productions Pvt Ltd will take legal action against them.

Moreover, it cautioned that actors, directors, distributors, exhibitors, OTT platforms and agencies should not sign any contract with Ess Kay Gee Entertainment regarding this project without the consent of Content Films Productions Pvt Ltd. It also warned that any party dealing with Ess Kay Gee Entertainment without authorization will face legal consequences.

Jatadhara recently was in the limelight when the makers released an intriguing poster featuring Sonakshi Sinha. This announcement poster got a positive response as it featured the talented actress in a never-before-seen avatar. Besides Sonakshi, Jatadhara also stars Sudheer Babu. It is directed by Venkat Kalyan.

In January 2025, it was announced that Zee Studios had come on board for Jatadhara. At that time, Prerna Arora had said, “It is a fantasy film, but a universal subject and based on a folktale like Munjya, which was a folk tale based in Maharashtra. Our film is based on a South Indian folk tale, so it is a very, very different kind of supernatural horror film. Something which audiences have never seen before.”

Apart from Jatadhara, Prerna Arora has two more films in the pipeline – the Divya Khosla-Esha Deol-Paresh Rawal starrer Hero Heeroine and Shivin Narang-Nidhhi Agerwal-Suchitra Krishnamoorthi-Tusshar Kapoor starrer Dank.

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has made another significant real estate investment in Ayodhya, securing a 54,454-square-foot land parcel. The property, located 10 kilometers from the recently inaugurated Ram Mandir, was purchased under the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Trust. This marks his second land acquisition in the region, following an earlier purchase in Haveli Avadh on January 16, 2024.

Details of the Land Acquisition
According to reports, Amitabh Bachchan’s latest land deal was facilitated by Rajesh Rishikesh Yadav on behalf of the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Trust. As per a report by Times Of India, Pratap Singh, Assistant Inspector General of the Stamp and Registration Department in Ayodhya, confirmed the transaction, stating, “We can only confirm that sale deeds have taken place. Once the local development authority approves the building plan, one would know what is going to be the purpose of the two investments.”

Bachchan’s first purchase in Haveli Avadh, close to the Ram Mandir, was valued at Rs 4.54 crore. Sources indicate that while this earlier acquisition may serve residential purposes, the newly acquired land is expected to be utilized for social or charitable causes.
A Tribute to Harivansh Rai Bachchan
Amitabh Bachchan had established the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Trust in 2013 in honor of his father, the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He had announced on his blog, “I am happy to announce the formation of a Trust in the memory of my Father – HRB Memorial Trust – which shall work to collect funds for charity. My own efforts at creating events or acts to contribute to it shall be prime, and the list of the charitable work done shall be soon visible to all.”

On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan last appeared in 2024’s Kalki 2898 AD and Vettaiyan. Both films received immense love from audiences and critics. The veteran actor recently wrapped up his popular show, Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Bollywood actress Kajol has made a notable real estate investment, purchasing a prime commercial property in Goregaon West for Rs 28.78 crore. The deal was finalized on March 6, 2025, as per property transaction records from IndexTap.com. The property, located at Bharat Arize on Linking Road, Bangur Nagar, was sold by Bharat Realty Ventures Pvt Ltd.

According to the documents, the acquired space is Shop No. 2 on the ground floor, spanning 4,365 sq. ft. The transaction includes five dedicated car parking spots. The per square foot rate for the deal stands at Rs 65,940, with Kajol paying a stamp duty of Rs 1.72 crore.
A Lucrative Investment in Mumbai’s Growing Commercial Hub
Goregaon West has emerged as a prime commercial hub in Mumbai, attracting interest from high-net-worth individuals and businesses. Kajol’s acquisition adds to the growing trend of Bollywood celebrities investing in Mumbai’s real estate market.
