Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone set to return for Pathaan 2, script locked

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone will reportedly return for Pathaan 2, with Aditya Chopra locking the script. According to reports, the film is set to begin shooting in the first quarter of 2026, but Siddharth Anand will not direct the sequel.

Aditya Chopra has reportedly locked the script for Pathaan 2, with plans to begin production in early 2026. According to Peeping Moon, “Aditya has been working on the script for Pathaan 2 since mid-2023. The sequel is designed not only to carry forward Pathaan’s story but also to lay the groundwork for larger conflicts in upcoming installments of YRF’s Spy Universe. It was due to the extensive planning and intricate storytelling that the scripting process took so long. Aditya, along with Sridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, has crafted an exhilarating, high-stakes script that promises to surpass the first installment in both scale and intensity. Aditya consulted SRK on the script, and he was thoroughly impressed and enthusiastic about the direction of the sequel.”

The search for a director for Pathaan 2 is still underway, as Siddharth Anand will not return for the sequel. Aditya Chopra is looking for a fresh perspective to helm Shah Rukh Khan’s next spy mission. Preparations for the film will begin in late 2025, with SRK set to start shooting after wrapping up King, his upcoming film with Suhana Khan, directed by Siddharth Anand. King is targeting a 2026 release.

Pathaan 2 will be the eighth film in YRF’s Spy Universe, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3, and the upcoming War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. After War 2, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Alpha will hit theatres.

EXCLUSIVE: Rs. 20 cr.+ settlement ends Netflix & Puja Entertainment’s year-long dispute; Netflix & Bhagnanis bury the hatchet

After a rough 2024, good times are finally dawning upon Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani’s Puja Entertainment. Just last week, they released their romcom, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, which received a decent response from the moviegoers. On the same day, Jackky and Mere Husband Ki Biwi’s actress Rakul Preet Singh celebrated their first wedding anniversary. And now, it has come to light that their feud with streaming giant Netflix has gotten over.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Both the parties agreed on a settlement. Netflix has paid the Bhagnanis a substantial amount to end the matter. The exact figure is only known to the head honchos but it is believed to be over Rs. 20 crores.”

The source further said, “Both Netflix and Vashu Bhagnani-Jackky Bhagnani have now decided to make a fresh start and are hoping to have a great, long association with each other.”

In September 2024, Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani sued Netflix for cheating and non-payment of dues to the tune of nearly Rs. 47.37 crores. They complained to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police and claimed that they were yet to receive due towards the OTT rights of their three films – Mission Raniganj, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Hero No 1.

Senior Inspector Ravindra Avhad had told HT City at that time, “This amount of Rs. 47.37 crore is what Netflix owes to the complainant, Vashu Bhagnani. But Netflix is not cooperating. We sent them two summonses, but they are not appearing. They haven’t replied to the letter sent to them by us. Bhagnanis came to us in April, we recorded their statements and collected the required documents. Netflix asked for some time, but aaye hi nahin. Lower level ke staff ko bhej dete hain statement ke liye, but it is Monika Shergill (Content Head, Netflix India) who should appear.”

At that time, Netflix had denied the accusations. They said, “These claims are completely unfounded — indeed it’s Pooja Entertainment that owes Netflix money. We have a strong track record of partnership with the Indian creative community and are working with the authorities to resolve this dispute.”

With this legal row now behind them, Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani can look forward to a new chapter of growth and collaboration. The renewed partnership with Netflix signals a promising future for Puja Entertainment. As the production house gears up for its upcoming ventures, this resolution allows it to refocus on delivering quality entertainment to audiences worldwide.

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja getting divorced? Niece Arti Singh clarifies on rumours; says, “Let me tell you something….”

Recent reports have made shocking revelation about Govinda and his relationship with wife Sunita Ahuja. While the couple have always made appearances together, reports suggest that they are planning to go their separate ways. Although not much has revealed, it is being said that the couple have decided to head for divorce after 37 years of marriage. However, Govinda’s niece and actress Arti Singh has come in support of her family and has issued a clarification.

It is a known fact that Govinda shares a strained relationship with his niece Arti Singh and nephew Krushna Abhishek and they have often shared about it with the media. However, owing to the current scenario where the 90s Bollywood superstar’s relationship with his wife has been facing the brunt, Arti has decided to let bygones be bygones and has vouched for their ‘strong’ relationship. In an interview with News18, Singh addressed this matter and said, “I am honestly not in Mumbai right now so I haven’t gotten in touch with anybody. But let me tell you something, this is false news. These are just speculations because their bond is so strong. They have built a strong and loving relationship over the years so how can they get divorced? I don’t know where people get all such rumours from, completely untrue. People should refrain from spreading misinformation about their personal lives.”

Revealing how she herself has experienced this kind of situation in the past, Arti added, “In fact, news about my divorce had also broken out for no reason. Such baseless gossip only creates unnecessary stress.”

Meanwhile, news reports have not revealed any details behind these claims of divorce. However, a few statements made by Sunita Ahuja where she has described her husband’s nature, her insecurity about him cheating, and also about having separate apartments and bungalow have gone viral.

EXCLUSIVE: Dhadak 2 faces censor trouble; will it make it to the cinemas on Holi and clash with John Abraham’s The Diplomat?

A few hours ago, T-Series announced that the John Abraham-starrer The Diplomat, which was initially scheduled to be released on March 7, will now arrive in cinemas on March 14. It led to murmurs that the thriller drama would clash with Dhadak 2 on the Festival of Colours. With only three weeks left for Holi, the promotions of Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, ideally should have started by now. Bollywood Hungama has now learned that the film has got stuck at the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Dhadak 2 deals with caste issues and is supposed to be a shocking tale. The Examining Committee (EC) of the CBFC applauded the makers for such a film. But due to its content, they are mulling over what rating should be given to the film and what scenes to be cut, if any.”

A trade expert told us, “The makers of Dhadak 2 want to get the censor process completed and only then start the promotions. They probably don’t want a situation wherein they announce a release date and then the censor issues cause a delay. Hence, if they get a clearance from CBFC, the film might still make it on March 14. Or else, the film might get pushed. A clearer picture should emerge in the next 5-10 days.”

This episode has also surprised the industry as the original film Pariyerum Perumal (2018) did not get stuck at the Censors at all. An industry insider said, “Dhadak 2 makers must have made the same film as it’s the same story. When Pariyerum Perumal didn’t face any trouble, why is Dhadak 2 being subjected to harassment?”

Last month, ex-CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani spoke about this aspect, “South mein kuch bhi pass ho jaata hai. At times, films with (excessive) violence get a U/A rating. The temperament of South members of CBFC is different from that of Mumbai. Here, a lot of members are politically affiliated. There, the members are fans of certain actors or actresses. They have a liberal attitude and this is happening right from the beginning.”

Nevertheless, it now remains to be seen when Dhadak 2’s CBFC troubles get over and will we see a clash between Siddhant Chaturvedi and John Abraham this Holi.

Suniel Shetty, PETA India donates mechanical Elephant to Karnataka Temple for cruelty-free rituals

In a thoughtful move advocating for animal welfare, actor Suniel Shetty, along with NGOs PETA India and CUPA, donated a life-size mechanical elephant named Umamaheshwara to the Shri Umamaheshwara Veerabhadreshwara Temple in Tavarekere, Karnataka.

The donation acknowledges the temple’s progressive choice to avoid owning or hiring live elephants, setting a compassionate example. The mechanical elephant enables devotees to uphold cultural rituals without causing harm or distress to real animals.

On Monday, Umamaheshwara was welcomed with a grand inauguration ceremony at the Shri Umamaheshwara Veerabhadreshwara Temple, accompanied by devotional rituals and the rhythmic beats of Mangala Vadhyam. The temple is now the first in Davanagere district to adopt this technology. Moving forward, Umamaheshwara will participate in temple rituals, ensuring traditions continue in a safe and cruelty-free manner.

The unveiling of Umamaheshwara was a grand event, attended by dignitaries and spiritual leaders. Davanagere MLA Basavaraju V Shivaganga officially introduced the mechanical elephant.

The event was attended by Dr. Dhananjaya Sarji, Range Forest Officer of Channagiri Range, former MLA Shwetha Viswanath, and K. Madal Virupakshappa. Renuka Shivacharaya Swamiji, head of Shilamatha, Tavarekere, also joined the celebrations. Spiritual leaders Shri Rachoteshwara Shivacharaya Swamiji and Dr. Abhinava Sidaalinga Shivacharya Swamiji further enriched the auspicious occasion.

Suniel Shetty stated, “Wild elephants are seed dispersers and help regulate climate change through their effect on trees. For the sake of elephant welfare and the Earth, I am thrilled to work with PETA India and CUPA on this vital project that protects God’s creations while allowing us to engage in traditional rituals and ceremonies.”

Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff summoned by Consumer Court over Vimal Pan Masala endorsement

The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Kota has registered a case against actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff, along with the manufacturer of Vimal Pan Masala. The commission has summoned them to appear in court over allegations of misleading advertisements regarding the product’s ingredients.

The case was filed by social worker and BJP leader Indramohan Singh Honey through senior advocate Vivek Nandwana. The case falls under Section 89 of the Consumer Protection Act, which addresses deceptive advertising and misleading endorsements. The complaint alleges that the celebrities, through their advertisements for Vimal Pan Masala, claimed that the product contains ‘kesar’ (saffron), which may mislead consumers, particularly the youth.

According to the complaint, the market price of saffron is very high. Hence, its presence in a pan masala product which is available for a reasonable rate, is highly questionable. The petitioner further argues that no concrete evidence has been provided by the manufacturer to substantiate this claim, and the warnings on the product packaging appear in such small fonts that they are not easy to read.

Following the complaint, the Chairman of the Consumer Commission, Mr. Anurag Gautam, issued a notice summoning the three actors and the manufacturer to explain their stance before the court.

This case has once again ignited debates over celebrity accountability in brand endorsements, particularly for products linked to tobacco, health concerns, or misleading claims. Over the past few years, several Bollywood stars have faced criticism for endorsing gutkha, pan masala, and similar products, which are often associated with harmful health effects. Many social activists and legal experts believe that public figures should be held accountable for the impact of the products they promote, as their endorsements significantly influence consumer behaviour.

As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen how the actors and the brand respond to the allegations. This development could set an important precedent regarding the ethical responsibilities of celebrities in advertising.

Preity Zinta slams allegations of Rs 18 crore loan write-off, calls claim baseless

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has fiercely responded to allegations that an Rs. 18 crore loan in her name was written off by the financially troubled New India Cooperative Bank Ltd. The controversy erupted after a Moneylife report exposed large-scale financial mismanagement within the bank, revealing how corporate loans – some as high as Rs. 25 crore – were sanctioned without branch managers’ knowledge and later turned into non-performing assets (NPAs) due to alleged fund diversions.

Among the high-profile cases mentioned in the report was the Rs. 18 crore loan purportedly linked to Preity Zinta. The article suggested that this massive sum was written off without proper recovery procedures, igniting a media frenzy. The revelations prompted the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to crack down on the bank’s operations in an attempt to address the irregularities.

Determined to set the record straight, Preity Zinta issued a firm clarification through her legal team. She categorically denied any wrongdoing, explaining that she had availed of an overdraft facility from New India Cooperative Bank over 12 years ago. However, she emphasized that more than a decade ago, she had fully repaid the entire amount, making the allegations against her completely baseless. “More than 12 years ago, I had an overdraft facility with the New India Cooperative Bank. More than 10 years ago, I repaid in full the entire dues in respect of this overdraft facility, and the account stands closed,” the actress was quoted stating on a portal.

Moreover, the actress also opened up about the matter on X aka Twitter, where she reposted a link and issued another statement denying these allegations and her involvement, adding, “No I operate my social media accounts my self and shame on you for promoting FAKE NEWS ! No one wrote off anything or any loan for me. I’m shocked that a political party or their representative is promoting fake news & indulging in vile gossip & click baits using my name & images. For the record a loan was taken and FULLY PAID BACK – over 10 years ago. Hope this clarifies and helps so there are no misunderstandings in the future”.
