Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan, one of Bollywood’s most iconic duos, shared screen space in classics like Anand and Namak Halaal. Now, their grandchildren are set to team up on the big screen. As per the latest buzz, Naomika Saran, granddaughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, will make her Bollywood debut in a romantic comedy alongside Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. The film is backed by producer Dinesh Vijan, who continues the trend of introducing fresh on-screen pairings.

Rajesh Khanna’s granddaughter Naomika Saran and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda will star in a rom-com produced by Maddock Films, according to PeepingMoon. The film will be directed by Jagdeep Sidhu, known for Punjabi hits like Qismat, Qismat 2, and Shadaa. This marks Sidhu’s Bollywood directorial debut, though he has previously contributed as a dialogue writer for Saand Ki Aankh and Srikanth.

Ahead of her debut, Naomika Saran has drawn attention for her striking resemblance to her grandmother, Dimple Kapadia. She is the daughter of Rinke Khanna and businessman Sameer Saran.

Agastya Nanda made his debut with Netflix’s The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar, alongside Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Dot, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, and Yuvraj Menda. After earning praise for his performance, he will next be seen in Ikkis, where he stars alongside Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film chronicles the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Produced by Maddock Films, further details about the project remain under wraps.

On Friday morning, media reports were abuzz with news about Sonu Sood after Ludhiana court issued arrest warrant against the actor regarding a fraud of Rs. 10 lakhs. The Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur claimed that Sood failed to appear before the court to testify in the case despite multiple summons. Followed by the reports, the actor, who is quite active on social media, has reacted to the news insisting that his lawyers have responded to the same.

Sonu Sood took to the social media platform X aka Twitter, wherein he has provided a clarification along with reacting to the news about the next hearing in the matter being scheduled on February 10. “We need to clarify that the news circulating on social media platforms is highly sensationalised. To put matters straight, we were summoned as a witness by the Honourable Court in a matter pertaining to a third party to which we have no association or affiliation. Our lawyers have responded and on 10th February 2025 we will give a statement that clarifies our non involvement in the matter,” the tweet read.

Sood went on to mention how celebs are often easily targeted in such situations and added, “We are neither brand ambassadors nor are we associated in any way. This is just for unnecessary media attention to grab eyeballs. It is sad that celebs become soft targets. We will take strict action in this matter.”

Coming to the case, as per current reports, a Ludhiana-based lawyer Rajesh Khanna had filed a case against a certain Mohit Shukla for cheating him with a fake Rijika coin investment scheme, due to which he incurred a loss of Rs. 10 lakhs. Followed by the allegations, Ludhiana court issued multiple summons to Sood. However, the actor’s absence to testify prompted them to order Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai to issue an arrest warrant against Sood.

Hulu US is in discussions with Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh for a documentary series on his life and career.  According to a report by Mid-Day, the series will explore Dosanjh’s rise from a small town in Punjab to becoming one of the most recognizable faces in Punjabi and Bollywood music. It will also highlight his global impact, including his historic Coachella performance and the success of his Dil-Luminati Tour. Talks are ongoing, and if finalized, the documentary could begin filming this year.

Why Hulu is Interested in Dosanjh’s Story

The idea for the documentary reportedly took shape after Dosanjh made history at Coachella 2023, becoming the first Punjabi artist to perform at the festival. His Dil-Luminati Tour 2024 further solidified his position on the global stage, drawing massive crowds across North America. A report by Oxford Economics noted that the tour’s 13-city run in the US and Canada generated $112 million in economic impact, brought in $13 million in tax revenue, and supported 5,300 jobs.

The report of the portal quoted a source saying, “The OTT giant recognizes the potential of Diljit’s story. He has broken barriers, from Punjabi music to Bollywood to the international arena. They want to document his journey from the ground up—his early struggles, his entry into Punjabi and Hindi cinema, and the growing global influence of Punjabi music.”

What the Documentary Will Cover

The project is expected to feature behind-the-scenes footage from Dosanjh’s concerts, exclusive interviews, and personal insights from the artist himself. The report also stated that the series will not only highlight Dosanjh’s rise but also explore how Punjabi music is making inroads into mainstream international markets.

The source further added, “Talks are progressing smoothly. Diljit wants to ensure the documentary does justice to his story and presents an authentic representation of Punjabi music.”

If the deal is finalized, the documentary will mark a significant moment for Punjabi representation in Western media. For Dosanjh, who has already made waves in Hollywood with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, this project could further cement his place on the global stage.
