Now in the midst of the same, a photo of a report filed at Lilavati Hospital regarding the incident has surfaced. The photo of the form indicates that a friend of Khan named Afsar Zaidi admitted the actor to the hospital and that the actor arrived to the hospital at around 4:11 am. Followed by the details going viral, several questions left the netizens puzzled.

Reports clarify on the discrepancies regarding who admitted Khan to the hospital

While earlier reports confirmed that Taimur Ali Khan was alone when he arrived with Saif Ali Khan at the hospital in a rickshaw, the same was also confirmed, the child’s former nanny Lalita D’Silva who also works in Lilavati Hospital as the nurse. However, in the photo that is going viral, it has been mentioned that Afsar Zaidi accompanied Saif Ali Khan. Clarifying on the same, Zaidi allegedly told India Today that he received a call from the Pataudis at around 3:30 am and the form was filled only after his arrival, since Taimur was too young to be doing this one.

Further, the friend also shared details regarding the difference in timings. The report raised questions among social media users where many of them questioned the extensive time gap between 2:30 am when the attack happened and around 4:11 am when the form was filled. Further explaining the difference, Zaidi shared that considering he is the one who filled the form, he had added the same time, which was post his arrival.

Saif Ali Khan underwent multiple surgeries at the Lilavati Hospital after he was stabbed by an intruder at his residence on the early hours of January 16. The actor was discharged on January 21, followed by the treatment after which he also recorded his statement with the Mumbai police. While the incident raised security concerns especially in terms of Bollywood celebrities, we hear that the family has been provided increased security including for the kids – Taimur and Jeh.

Before the pandemic, the national chain of multiplexes followed a strict rule that they would release only those films which would premiere on an OTT platform after 56 days. This rule was relaxed after the lockdown and films were allowed on OTT after completing 4 weeks in cinemas. The rule was discontinued on August 1, 2022, and yet, some filmmakers preferred to bring their films online in 4 weeks. This led to the three big chains, namely PVR, Inox and Cinepolis, rejecting such films. While the Telugu filmmakers followed the eight-week rule, the Tamil filmmakers preferred the four-week window arrangement. The result? While Telugu films are making big bucks in the Hindi-speaking markets, the Tamil films haven’t been able to do so despite delivering some massy films. But since they didn’t get enough screens, the business was affected.

Bollywood Hungama spoke exclusively to Manish Shah of Goldmine Telefilms, who created a revolution by releasing dubbed Hindi films on satellite and on their YouTube channel. He was also the one who produced the Hindi version of Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01 (2021). It was due to his efforts that the Allu Arjun starrer was brought to cinemas in the Northern belt, leading to a frenzy at the box office.

When asked about Tamil films and why they don’t do huge business as compared to Telugu films, Manish Shah revealed, “The issue is that Tamil filmmakers agree to the four-week window with the OTT platforms. They do so because they want the money upfront. They are not mentally prepared for the fact that if they receive Rs. 20 crores less from OTT, they can collect the same amount or even more from theatres. But sadly, they don’t have that confidence.”

He then made a big announcement, “But I am going to adhere to the eight-week window with Kanchana 4. I am producing it. It stars Raghava Lawrence, Pooja Hegde and Nora Fatehi. The film went on floors yesterday (January 23).”

Kanchana 4 marks the second film that Manish Shah is producing after Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01. Manish Shah continued, “We’ll make sure that Kanchana 4 arrives on a streaming giant only after 57 days in cinemas. In other words, it’ll be released in all the national chains. After 2.0 (2018), it will be the first Tamil film to achieve this feat.”

Kanchana is an iconic horror comedy series that has worked big time in cinemas and also on satellite, including its dubbed Hindi versions. Interestingly, the Akshay Kumar-Kiara Advani starrer Laxmmi (2020) was a remake of Kanchana (2011).

While there have been many narrations of what transpired during the ‘night’ of January 16, actor Saif Ali Khan, who is expected to have made almost full recovery, gave his first statement to the cops after the attack. Several key points made by the actor have made its way to the news reports which has left the audience wondering if this was a kidnap attack, rather than an alleged robbery.

Saif Ali Khan reveals he was in the bedroom with Kareena Kapoor Khan when he heard the scream

Readers would be aware that Saif Ali Khan was asked to give his first statement to the Mumbai police, so that the latter could get clearer picture of the nature of the crime. In his statement, the actor has reportedly revealed that he was in his bedroom with wife Kareena Kapoor Khan when he heard the scream. He immediately recognized it to be his younger son Jeh’s nanny Eliyama Philip and rushed to the room, where he saw the intruder. As a father, he immediately jumped into action which resulted in a spat leading the ‘intruder’ to stab Saif Ali Khan six times.

However, the actor insisted in his statement that he was strong enough to push away the intruder despite the wounds, also describing the quick action taken by his house staff who not only moved Jeh away from his room but also locked the intruder in the same room.

What happened to Eliyama Philip

For the unversed, it was mentioned that Eliyama, who also sleeps in Jeh’s room, was injured during the incident since she was the first one to stop the intruder after he entered Jeh’s room. She went on to add that the intruder demanded Rs. 1 crore from her in return for Jeh’s safety which left her in panic and she immediately screamed to alert the rest of the house members.

The aftermath of the attack

Saif Ali Khan was immediately taken in an autorickshaw to the nearby Lilavati Hospital, after he was stabbed, where the actor received immediate treatment. He was later taken into surgery the same day with the doctors confirming that he suffered severe injuries on his back as well as neck and hands, with the latter being covered by plastic surgery.

Police arrests Bangladeshi national

Meanwhile, the Mumbai police, after a long investigation, arrested the ‘intruder’ who has been identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a Bangladeshi national. The latter was hiding in Thane, near Mumbai, and according to recent reports, his fingerprints too have been found in multiple parts of the house, including the door handle of Jeh’s room as well as the AC duct on the eleventh floor of the Bandra society where Khan and his family resides.

On the morning hours of January 23, news reports started surfacing stating that popular singer Monali Thakur was rushed to the Dinhata Sub-District Hospital followed by a medical emergency in the midst of her performance. However, taking to social media, Thakur has issued a firm clarification where she has denied any such issues, requesting everyone to refrain from spreading ‘false information’. Along with that, she also reassured her concerned fans asserting that she has already returned to Mumbai.

Explaining that a small issue was blown out of proportion, Monali addressed the ‘media’ and ‘everyone concerned about her health’ saying, “I hope you’re doing well. I’m writing this to request that no unverified news about my health be shared. I truly appreciate all the love and concern, but I want to make it clear that I am not dealing with any breathing issues and I was not admitted to any hospital. That’s false information.”

She further went on to speak about her health condition which is said to have been worsened because she was in the process of healing from flu. “I was feeling unwell recently due to not getting enough time to recover from a viral infection/flu causing it to relapse and cause a slightly severe sinus and migraine discomfort and pain in flights. That’s all there is to it.”

Asserting that she has returned to the city, the singer added, “I’m now back in Mumbai, getting treatment, resting, and recovering. I’ll be absolutely fine in no time! Let’s not make this bigger than it is, especially when there are much more important things to focus on. Thank you so much for your love and support.” She signed off expressing her love and care to her fans and followers.

Last week, the nation woke up to the shocking news of actor Saif Ali Khan being stabbed multiple times at his residence by an intruder during an attempted burglary. The actor was immediately rushed to the Lilavati Hospital where he was operated upon. After recovering, Khan was discharged from the hospital earlier this week and is now being taken care of at his residence.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police has decided to provide 24/7 security to the actor. As per a report by NDTV, a police constable will stay with Khan throughout the day.

And now, the publication has also reported that Saif has appointed fellow actor Ronit Roy’s private security firm to provide him with additional security round the clock. Roy runs a security firm with the name Ace Security and Protection Agency. Some of his notable clients include Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.

Coming back to the case, the police have arrested a suspect and have said that he happens to be a Bangladeshi national. As per the police, the accused, named Shariful Islam Shehzad entered the society where the actor lives by climbing the compound wall while the security guard were reportedly asleep. The attacker stabbed Saif six times, including on his neck, shoulder and back. A part of the knife was removed from the actor’s body during surgery.

According to police reports, the threatening message was sent from Pakistan and was flagged by Kapil Sharma, who promptly filed a complaint with the Amboli Police station. The threats were both personal and professional in nature, implying that failure to reply would result in repercussions.

As per NDTV report, the email said – “We are monitoring your recent activities and we believe it is important that we bring to your attention a sensitive matter. This is not a publicity stunt or an attempt to harass you, we urge you to treat this message with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.”

Following Kapil Sharma’s complaint, the Amboli Police registered an FIR against an unknown person under section 351(3) of the BNS (Bombay Police Act). Police sources revealed that the email was traced back to a server in Pakistan, though further details about the identity of the sender are still unclear. Authorities have begun an investigation into the matter, and efforts are underway to track down the individual behind these menacing communications.

The timing of the threat is particularly concerning, as Kapil Sharma has been one of the country’s most beloved TV personalities. However, the issue seems to be a growing trend among celebrities in the entertainment industry. Sugandha Mishra and Remo D’Souza, who also filed complaints with the police earlier, received identical threatening emails. In fact, Rajpal Yadav received a similar email in December last year, and he filed his complaint on December 17 since he had left the mail unnoticed which he found later in his spam folder.
