SOTY 3 is expected to be directed by international filmmaker Reema Maya, who is also the co-founder of the production company Catnip. The official announcement about her joining the Student Of The Year franchise was made by Karan Johar at the Cinevesture International Film Festival in Chandigarh in April last year, wherein he was quoted telling TOI, “Reema Maya will be directing the digital version of Student of the Year. But it will be her way and definitely not mine because if I’ll enter Reema Maya’s world, then I will make it more of an illusion, which is what her name means. I just wanted it to be her voice. She made it her own series.”

Meanwhile, Harper Bazaar reported that Shanaya Kapoor, who was supposed to make a debut with Dharma in Bedhadak, has been roped in as the leading lady. Adding to the same, recent reports now suggest that Alaya F will also be the other female lead in the teenage drama.

The actress took to social media to share her reaction when she came across the statement made by L&T Chairman, S. N. Subrahmanyan as he expressed his desire to make employees work on all seven days.

While the L&T Chairman made a statement about making employees work on Sundays, he received severe backlash from many social media users including actress Deepika Padukone. The actress reposted the statement made by Subrahmanyan during a recent event which was originally shared by Faye D’Souza on her social media feed. Sharing her reaction to his comments, Padukone wrote, “Shocking to see people in such senior positions make such statements”. The actress also shared a hashtag that read, “mental health matters”.

L&T Chairman’s statement that sparked this controversy

The Chairman was seen clarifying on the reason behind his employees working on Saturday, which is not a common practice among multinationals and conglomerates. He said, “I regret I am not able to make you work on Sundays. If I can make you work on Sundays, I will be more happy because I work on Sundays”. He had added, “What do you do sitting at home? How long can you look at your wife? Come on, get to the office and start working,” which drew further flak and criticism and was slammed for being misogynistic.

Followed by the outcry on social media regarding Subrahmanyan’s statement, the company Larson & Turbo issued an official statement defending his comments. Following the historic success of Stree 2, Dinesh Vijan and director Amar Kaushik had a closed-door meeting with Shah Rukh Khan to discuss the possibility of a collaboration. Ever since then, Dinoo and Amar met SRK with multiple subjects – ranging from horror comedy to fantasy and even adventure films to check his interest on the genre he is inclined towards.

One of the subjects that Maddock had offered to Shah Rukh Khan was Chamunda, which is slated to release in 2026. According to our highly placed sources, Shah Rukh Khan was offered the lead role in Chamunda, as the film plays a key role in shaping the future of their horror-comedy universe. “With Amar Kaushik at the helm, Maddock was bullish on casting Shah Rukh Khan for Chamunda with Alia Bhatt. But things didn’t pan out as expected,” a source informed Bollywood Hungama.

The source added, “Shah Rukh Khan didn’t want to enter an already established universe and rather start a new world with Maddock and Amar Kaushik. He has asked the duo to come to him with something fresh and explore a genre never done before. The two are now exploring new names for Chamunda and hoping to team up with Shah Rukh Khan in a couple of years on something fresh.”

The source also informs us that Chamunda was the first of the many subjects offered by Dinesh Vijan to SRK, but things didn’t align.

The iconic Annapurna Studios has scripted history again by launching India’s first Dolby certified post-production facility for cinema and home, which was unveiled by the globally renowned filmmaker S S Rajamouli in the presence of the celebrated actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, Vice Chairman of Annapurna Studios.

Launched in collaboration with Dolby, the state-of-the-art facility aims to redefine the audio-visual standards of Indian filmmaking, ensuring cinematic experiences that meet global benchmarks.

Interestingly, Rajamouli’s Academy-award-winning RRR (2022) — special footage of which was also played at the grand event — was the first-ever Indian film to be released in Dolby Cinema, making this a landmark moment for the Indian film industry.

Speaking at the momentous occasion held at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, S S Rajamouli shared, “During the time of RRR, when we wanted to grade the film in Dolby Vision, we had to travel all the way to Germany. It was a bit disheartening that I couldn’t experience my film in Dolby Vision within my own country. But today, I’m thrilled to see a Dolby Vision grading facility right here at Annapurna Studios.”

Rajamouli added, “Even more exciting is the fact that, by the time my next film releases, there will be multiple Dolby Cinemas across India. Watching a film in Dolby Vision is an entirely different experience—the crystal-clear clarity and the way it enhances the nuances of every frame take storytelling to a whole new level. I can’t wait for audiences to experience it!”

The song teaser will drop on January 10, followed by the full track on the 11th. This high-energy number is packed with raw beats and an electrifying vibe.”
