The news of Pacific Palisades wildfire has left the residents of Los Angeles in jeopardy with many celebrities taking to social media to confess about losing their homes to the disaster. The latest name to join the list is Nora Fatehi who shared the impact of the wildfire further revealing that she is currently in the city and that she is also expected to catch a flight.

Nora Fatehi insists that she has never seen anything like this before

The dancer-actress took to her social media handle on Instagram to share a video on her story, wherein she opened up about the Pacific Palisades wildfire and said, “I am in LA and the wildfires are crazy. I have never seen anything like that.” Also, speaking about the evacuation, she continued, “This is insane, we just got an evacuation order five minutes ago. So I quickly packed all my stuff and I am evacuating out of here. I am gonna go near the airport and chill there because I have a flight today and I really hope I can catch it.” “I hope it doesn’t get cancelled because this s**t is scary. I am going to keep you guys updated. I hope people are safe, I have never seen anything before like this,” she concluded as she signed off.

In a separate story, the actress also provided a glimpse of LA which is currently under Emergency owing to the situation. In the note, Nora wrote, “The LA fires are crazy right now… hope everyone is okay”.

Priyanka Chopra also reveals about the fire

Earlier on Wednesday night, Priyanka Chopra shared a series of posts expressing her concern towards the co-residents of LA and sending across her prayers and best wishes to the victims of the natural disaster. In a recent story, she also saluted the work of firefighters and first responders who are attempting their best to control the disaster. “A huge shoutout to the incredibly brave first responders. Thank you for working tirelessly overnight and continuing to help families affected,” she wrote.

Eminent journalist, poet, writer and film producer Pritish Nandy passed away today in Mumbai at the age of 73. The news of his death was confirmed by his son and filmmaker Kushan Nandy to Screen. However, there is no clarity on the cause of his death as of yet.

Some of the notable films produced by Nandy include, Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi (2001), Kaante (2002), Jhankaar Beats (2003), Chameli (2003), Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2003), Pyaar Ke Side Effects (2006), Shaadi Ke Side Effects (2014), etc. In recent years, he also dabbled into the web medium with shows like Four More Shots Please and Modern Love Mumbai.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher wrote a long condolence message on social media for Nandy after the news came out. Sharing the deceased’s picture from his younger days, Kher wrote, “Deeply deeply saddened and shocked to know about the demise of one of my dearest and closest friends #PritishNandy! Amazing poet, writer, filmmaker and a brave and unique editor/journalist! He was my support system and a great source of strength in my initial days in Mumbai. We shared lots of things in common. He was also one of the most fearless people I had come across. Always Larger than life. I learnt so many things from him.”

Bollywood-turned-global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas has added another feather to her cap by joining the Oscar-shortlisted short film Anuja as an executive producer. Directed by Adam J. Graves, the film focuses on a 9-year-old girl, Anuja, who works in a back-alley garment factory with her sister, Palak. The film, which premiered at the DeadCenter Film Festival, has already secured a spot on the 2025 Academy Awards shortlist in the live-action short film category.

What is Anuja About?
Anuja tells a deeply moving story about childhood resilience and sacrifice. The narrative follows its young protagonist as she faces a life-altering decision that will determine her future and her family’s well-being. Produced by Suchitra Mattai, the short film collaborates with the Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT), a nonprofit supporting street and working children, and Shine Global, an organization renowned for its Oscar-winning films.

A report by Variety quoted Priyanka saying: “This beautiful film shines a spotlight on a subject that affects millions of children around the world, who are faced with the impossible decision between a future they cannot yet see and the immediate realities of their present. Anuja is a poignant, thought-provoking piece that makes us reflect deeply on the power of choices and how they shape the course of our lives. In the midst of all this, Bollywood Hungama has discovered an exclusive scoop on Shahid Kapoor.

According to sources close to the development, Shahid Kapoor is in talks with mega director Atlee for his next production. “Shahid is discussing a masaledaar entertainer with Atlee, which will be directed by one of his associates. The actor has been in talks for the last 5 months and is on the verge of signing the dotted line,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The source also tells us that the film will be an original action entertainer and not a remake like Baby John, which recently failed to hit the bullseye at the box office in Hindi. “Atlee has himself developed this script with his associate and feels that Shahid Kapoor is apt for the part. The team is in advanced stages of discussion and the things should fall in place shortly,” the source told us further.

He has pulled off a casting coup by bringing two of the most talented actors of Indian Cinema on board.”

The source continued, “Neeraj is working on multiple other scripts, and is yet to lock his next for the big screen. He is excited to embark on a journey with Manoj and Kay Kay starting this summer and plans to invest next 6 months of his career on this espionage. The film will premiere on Netflix in 2026”. It was also reported that the filmmaker has sealed a rather profitable deal with Netflix and is expected to be a feature film streaming on OTT directly. After many actors who recently invested in properties, new parents Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal too have joined the list as they have reportedly purchased a luxurious apartment in Mumbai’s upscale Juhu locality for a whopping Rs 86.92 crores. The couple has acquired the 9,730 sq. ft. property located on the sixth and seventh floor of the under-construction tower, Twenty.

The property was purchased from D’décor Exports Pvt Ltd, a home furnishings company. According to documents on IndexTap.com, the buyers paid a stamp duty of Rs 5.21 crore for the registration of the deal, which took place on December 3.  Also, these documents have revealed that the deal was valued at Rs. 89,332 per sq.ft., making it one of the costliest transactions in the Juhu area. The purchase includes 8 dedicated car parking spaces, offering convenience alongside opulence.

Scheduled for completion in May 2025, TWENTY is an eight-storeyed landmark project by D’Decor Exports Private Limited, led by Managing Director Mr. Sanjay Arora. The purchase marks a significant investment for the celebrity couple in one of Mumbai’s most sought-after neighbourhood. For the unversed, the Juhu locality is known for being a hub for Bollywood celebrities, directors, and producers, as well as industrialists and corporate leaders as it is an area known for its luxurious properties and high-end lifestyle.

Meanwhile, actor Varun Dhawan, known for his roles in films like Student of the Year and Badlapur, seems to be having a busy schedule with films being lined up for 2025. While he has been enjoying fatherhood after the arrival of his daughter Lara in June, the actor also has been wrapping up his work commitments. After receiving love for Baby John which was the last release of 2024, Varun will now look forward to the release of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari which marks his reunion with Janhvi Kapoor after Bawaal (2023). The actor also has his father’s rom-com Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai with Pooja Hegde, Border 2 with Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Dinesh Vijan’s supernatural universe film Bhediya 2 in the pipeline.

Maddock Films unveiled its ambitious plans for an expanded Horror-Comedy Universe, featuring eight interconnected films set to release over the next four years. According to a report by PeepingMoon, Shakti Shalini, slated for a December 31, 2025 release, will star Kiara Advani in the titular role. Shakti Shalini will be Maddock’s fifth standalone film in the franchise, following hits like Stree and Bhediya. The Independence Day is considered to be one of the most lucrative periods of film release in a year. This year, the weekend has been blocked way in advance by Aditya Chopra for the release of War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. But we hear that a three way clash is in the offing during the August 15 weekend.

A very reliable source in the trade has confirmed that Aamir Khan is considering to bring Lahore:1947 with Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol during the Independence Day 2025 weekend. “Lahore: 1947 is a film that celebrates India’s Independence and what better than August 15 to release the film. They are strongly considering this date and will make an official announcement very soon,” a source told us, adding further that the film is led by Sunny Deol and also features Aamir Khan in an extended cameo.

That’s not all, War 2 will also face competition from the Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Coolie on Independence day. “The Rajinikanth starrer is the most awaited film of Tamil Cinema and the producers have locked Independence Day release for their film. Interestingly, even Coolie features Aamir Khan in an extended cameo,” the source told us further.

As things stand today, August 15 will see the release of Hrithik Roshan and NT Jr’s War 2, Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan’s Coolie and Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan’s Lahore: 1947. The drama is expected to intensify in the weeks to come.
