Bollywood actor Govinda is currently recuperating in a hospital following an unfortunate incident involving his licensed firearm. The 60-year-old star sustained a leg injury earlier today when the weapon misfired at his residence near Juhu. He was swiftly taken to Criticare Hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove the bullet lodged beneath his knee. Reports indicate that the operation lasted approximately an hour, and while he is in stable condition, doctors anticipate that he will remain hospitalized for several days.

According to Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, the actor was preparing for a morning flight to Kolkata for a scheduled performance when the accident occurred. “We had a 6 am flight to catch for a show in Kolkata, and I had already arrived at the airport. Govinda ji was about to leave his home when this unfortunate incident took place,” Sinha explained. Fortunately, Sinha noted that it is a blessing that the injury was limited to his leg and not more severe.

As per a report in NDTV, Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, was in Kolkata at the time of the incident. Upon learning of the mishap, she quickly made arrangements to return to Mumbai. As the situation unfolded, the actor called both his wife and manager for assistance. The police were notified, and shortly thereafter, Govinda was transported to the medical facility. His daughter, Tina Ahuja, later arrived to be by his side.

Sources close to the actor indicated that he was in the process of securing his firearm in a cupboard when the weapon fell and discharged. Medical professionals, led by Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, successfully extracted the bullet during surgery. “His condition is stable, and we expect him to be discharged in three to four days, though he will require about a month to rest,” Dr. Agarwal stated.

From his hospital bed, Govinda released an audio message to his supporters, expressing gratitude for their prayers and well-wishes. “I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted. I thank the doctors here and your prayers,” he conveyed, highlighting the support he feels from his fans and loved ones during this difficult time.

Family members and close friends quickly gathered at the hospital after hearing the news. His brother, Kirti Kumar, shared insights into Govinda’s resilient spirit. “He has strong willpower and expressed a desire to return home this evening. However, the doctors have advised that he will need to stay here for a couple of days,” Kumar remarked, thanking the actor’s fans for their unwavering support.

Vinay Anand, the actor’s nephew, noted, “The blessings of fans all over the world are with him. He could have faced a much worse outcome, but he is fine now. He was laughing and mentioned that it was divine intervention that saved him. He said Bajrang Bali protected him.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde personally reached out to Govinda to check on his health. “I have contacted Govinda to express my sincere concern for his well-being. On behalf of the government and the people of our state, I wish him a swift and complete recovery,” Shinde stated. He also assured the actor that he and his family would receive any necessary support during this trying period.

Following the incident, early reports suggested that Govinda had not filed a complaint with law enforcement. However, authorities have seized the firearm involved and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. As a precaution, security measures at the hospital have been enhanced to ensure the safety of the actor and his family.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The trailer will be out on Sunday, October 6. It will be unveiled at a grand event, which will be graced by the entire cast of the film, comprising Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit along with director Anees Bazmee and the producers. The star cast of the film is exciting and to see all of them together would add to the hype for the film. Since it’s a fun-filled entertainer, the event will also have the actors indulging in a lot of fun and masti.”

On Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26, the makers unveiled teaser posters of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 followed by the teaser on September 27. The source added, “Once the trailer is out, the promotions exercise will hit top gear and soon, the makers will also unveil the songs before the film releases on Diwali.”

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 brings back Kartik Aaryan and director Anees Bazmee after the very successful Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022). Vidya Balan rocked the show in Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) and her comeback to the successful series has enhanced the excitement for the third part. The addition of Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri in the star cast has also made people pumped up for the horror comedy.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series and Murad Khetani of Cine1 Studios. Earlier on October 1, a shocking news about Govinda sustaining bullet injuries created immense buzz in the media. The much-loved actor, who is known for his comedy timing and dancing skills, was rushed to a nearby hospital after his licensed revolver accidentally got triggered during a cleaning session, resulting in a wound in his left leg. The latest news was that the actor is undergoing treatment at Criti Care Hospital in Juhu, suburban Mumbai.

Sharing a detailed description of the same, his surgeon Dr. Ramesh Agarwal spoke to the media where he revealed more details about the actor’s surgery and his treatment. Dr. Agarwal mentioned that when the incident occurred it was him along with Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja who accompanied him to get him admitted to the suburban hospital. Speaking about the incident, the doctor revealed, “He reached here at about 5 am. He had a bullet in his leg. It was an accident and now the operation has been completed too. His condition is stable, and he is quite comfortable now”.

The doctor went on to add that the bullet was found on his left leg, a few inches below the knees. He added, “The bullet did not go through. In fact, it was lodged inside the leg during the surgery.” While he admitted that there was blood loss, the doctor also assured that they were able to get the situation under control quite easily. “There wasn’t much bleeding. But he has got stitches, which are now called staples. I cannot say the exact number, but he has about 8-10 of these staples right now”.

Dr. Aggarwal, however, reassured concerned fans that the actor wouldn’t have to spend a lot of time in the hospital. “He is okay. He will be in the hospital for one or maximum two days, that’s all. But he has to rest for about three to four weeks. He will also have to take care of the fact that he cannot exert his left leg too much and not lift any kind of heavy weight. His medication primarily involves painkillers and antibiotics but nothing much to worry about.”

The film’s distributor, Zee Studios, had initially planned to release The Legend of Maula Jatt on October 2 in select regions of Punjab and New Delhi in India. However, recent reports suggest that the necessary clearances from the Indian government have not been obtained, leading to the postponement.

According to the Mid-Day, while there are no official statements from Zee Studios, industry sources speculate that the decision to delay the release is likely influenced by concerns related to potential protests and disruptions from certain political groups. Similar concerns led to the cancellation of the film’s previous release attempt in December 2022. A source told the publication, “On September 27, the film was to receive a clearance from the I&B Ministry. That hasn’t been granted. The prints were to be given to us on Tuesday, but we have heard that the film won’t play from Wednesday.”

The film’s cancellation has come as a disappointment to many fans who were eagerly awaiting its theatrical debut in India. The action drama, starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, had been poised to become the first Pakistani film to receive a wide release in the country in over a decade. A trade analyst also told the publication, “I don’t believe there is government pressure. I feel the issue is loss of property from fringe groups, which are protesting the theatrical release of a Pakistani film. If this film releases, a cross-cultural exchange could start. It’s possible the release is pushed till Friday. But I haven’t heard anything about the film from the trade world or the studio. The silence could indicate the release has again been stopped, like it was in 2022.”

The ongoing uncertainty surrounding the film’s release has sparked discussions about the challenges faced by Pakistani filmmakers seeking to enter the Indian market. The political and cultural complexities between the two countries often create obstacles for cross-border collaborations.

Indeed, last December, The Legend of Maula Jatt faced a similar fate, with its planned release thwarted by political opposition. Following that setback, Zee Studios had initially decided to revisit the project, with hopes of a successful launch in Punjab. However, internal discussions in recent weeks led to a reassessment of the film’s theatrical prospects. An insider shared, “We can’t risk damage to property. At this point, we’ve opted against a theatrical release. However, we may explore digital platforms, much like we did with another recent film, Barzakh. Plans will be developed soon, but for now, it’s clear that the film won’t be screening this week.”
