The debut web-series of Zeenat Aman titled Show Stopper has found itself in the midst of a controversy yet again and this time it involves actress Digangana Suryavanshi. Best known for her work in television, Digangana has now been accused by the makers of extortion and further the lawyer of the producers has also gone to allege that the actress has made threatening statements towards the makers.

According to the reports, the producers of Show Stopper have accused the actress of taking money under the pretext of roping in some big names from the Bollywood industry. This had led to producers MH Films have filed a complaint against Digangana Suryavanshi under sections 420 and 406 of the Indian Penal Code, that is for serious form of cheating that includes inducement and criminal breach of trust. In fact, News18 Showsha has revealed about the police report filed by director of the show, Manish Harishankar against Suryavanshi in which he has reportedly stated, “During the making and after the completion of the said web series, the proposed accused kept telling me that she knows superstars like Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, and as she has personal relations with them, she would be in a position to rope in such popular actors to be the presenters of the said web series initially.”

The director also revealed that they flew to Ajmer, where under the pretext of Akshay Kumar allegedly, Digangana took away an iPAd from them and has not returned it till date. “My editor carried the iPad, which contained entire footages of the web series… She insisted that that he should handover the iPad with the entire 16 episodes of the web series. After that, she told my editor to wait outside (hotel room) as she said that she will go alone and have a meeting with Akshay Kumar, and on the pretext of showing the footage/clips of the web series, she took the iPad from my staff and till date has never returned us back,” he added.

In fact, it is being said that these reports that Digangana also demanded Rs. 6 crores to be paid to Akshay Kumar post her alleged meeting with the Bollywood superstar.

Readers would be aware that the dating rumours of actress Sonakshi Sinha and her Double XL co-star Zaheer Iqbal have been doing the rounds for quite some time. If recent reports are to be believed, Sonakshi and Zaheer will be tying the knot this month, on June 23.

Sources have stated in a report in India Today that the wedding is indeed happening this month and that the celebrations will be held in the plush Bastian in Mumbai. However, further details on the venue is awaited. It is being said that the invites for the function have already been distributed, further suggesting that the entire team of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar are invited to join Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal on their special day. In fact, the source has gone to describe the wedding invites which is expected to be in the form of a magazine cover and it has ‘the rumours are true’ written on it.

Along with the fact that the ceremony will be intimate and private, other details about this popular Bollywood wedding are not yet disclosed.

For the unversed, the rumours of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal kicked off after the duo completed their film Double XL in 2022, co-starring Huma Qureshi and Mahat Raghavendra. The two actors are often seen sharing adorable photos with each other and even expressing their feelings for each other but have not spoken about their relationship in public. Being one of the most awaited Amazon Prime Video originals, fans of Mirzapur are eagerly awaiting to see what season three of the show has in store for them. Last month, fans shared their excitement as Ali Fazal dropped an interesting series of photos of his role as Guddu Bhaiyya, and now, the streaming platform has teased fans by unveiling the release date of the series but with a twist.

The official Instagram page of Mirzapur shared a poster which showcases the key characters of the show, albeit in caricatures. It also showcases the death of some of them which has happened over the course of the series along with Ali Fazal’s Guddu Bhaiyya taking over the thrown, Shweta Tripathi as Golu, standing by him, along with representations of Divyenndu Sharma as Munna, Pankaj Tripathi as Akhandanand Tripathi, Kulbhushan Kharbanda as Satyanand Tripathi, Vijay Varma, among others. Along with that, they have posed a riddle which audiences have to solve in order to guess the release date as the instructions read, “Mirzapur S3 ki release date chuppi hai isme Dhoond sakte ho toh dhoond lo! They also captioned this photo saying, “Ab #MS3W poochna nahi, dhoondna hai. Toh ho jaiye shuru”.

Fans of the show have expressed their excitement by making their own guesses about the release date. Many of them believed that the poster featured several elements in seven which prompted them to wonder if the show is releasing in July, which is the seventh month of the year. “I have 2 guess… 1st – 21th July 2024 (full moon on 21st, and guns, bullets, carpets, people are 7) and other is so common as everything is seven then it’s thala for a reason 7-7-2024,” said one of the fans, whereas another one added, “Month 7(July)  5 written on Number Plate, So date 5. 05/07/2024, Which is also First Friday of July.” Yet another user deduced, “7 carpets, 7 bullets, 7 guns, 7 people = 7 july”.

Jolly LLB 3, directed by Subhash Kapoor, is proving to be a reunion of the franchise’s first and second instalments. While Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi reprise their roles from the 2017 sequel, Arshad Warsi makes a comeback to the series after portraying the eponymous character in the 2013 original. Saurabh Shukla, who portrayed Justice Tripathi in both films, is also returning, and we now have exclusive information that Amrita Rao will reprise her role as Sandhya from the first film as well.

According to a source close to the production, “Amrita is returning as Arshad’s wife in Jolly LLB 3, continuing their story from the first part. With her entry, it’s a complete unification of Jolly LLB 1 and 2 cast.” The third installment began filming in May in Rajasthan, according to a source, and Rao was part of the cast. We contacted the actor’s staff for comment, but received no answer as of press time.

Speaking about the Rajasthan schedule, the insider said, “The shooting took place in a very remote area in Rajasthan. The location was such that everyone had to walk to reach there as no vehicle could go on those roads.” Furthermore, we have learned that the team is now filming in Mumbai. “The next schedule of Jolly LLB 3 will take place in Delhi and the entire team will be heading there towards the end of June for the same,” the source shares. The third film of the series will see Kumar and Warsi’s Jollys face each other off in court.

Amrita is known for her films like Main Hoon Na, Vivah, Ishq Vishq and Masti.

The Annu Kapoor-starrer Hamare Baarah has faced several controversies, even before the trailer was out. The Annu Kapoor-starrer was all set to release on June 7 but on June 5, the Bombay High Court put a stay order on its release until June 14. But on June 7, the High Court agreed to clear the release after the makers agreed to delete dialogues that were deemed objectionable by the petitioner.

An industry insider commented, “This is unprecedented or maybe it’s a rare instance wherein a film passed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has been asked by the Court for more cuts. Usually, when anyone went to Court to stall the release of the film, the petition usually was not entertained, citing that the film has been cleared by the Censor Board.”

The Court, however, as per Live Law, did maintain that “We are of the view that if an individual such as in this Petition is permitted to stall the release of movies which have been duly certified by the CBFC it would encourage holding film producers to ransom.”

Bollywood Hungama has got hold of the cut lists approved by the CBFC on June 7. It mentions three cuts in the film. At the very beginning of the film, the slogan ‘Allah hu Akbar’ was muted. The other dialogues that were censored were ‘Shauhar mazaaz-e-khuda hota hai aur mazaaz-e-khuda ke khilaaf jaana kufra hai; kufra ki sahaaa maut hai’ and ‘Aurat salwar ke naade ki tarah honi chahiye; jab tak andar rahegi, behtar rahegi’.

The petition, filed by Azhar Basha Tamboli, claimed that the film was in complete contravention of the provisions of the Cinematograph Act, 1952. It further stated that the film depicts that the lives of married Muslim women have no independent rights as individuals in society owing to a verse in the Quran. According to the petitioner, the makers have indulged in a misreading of the said verse.

Hamare Baarah was earlier titled Hum Do Hamare Baarah and the film’s Revising Committee (RC) suggested that the title should be changed and that it should be ‘women-centric’. They were told to insert a disclaimer and to give references to CBFC about dialogues on ‘women marriage’ in the Quran and Islamic Culture.

Further, the CBFC asked to replace the words ‘Bazaaru Aurat’ and to replace ‘Islam’ with ‘mazhab’. The dialogue uttered by a Maulana in the film, ‘Apni Kheti Karo …. Jyada Se Jyada Musalmaan Paida Karo’, was deleted. Another controversial dialogue that was deleted was ‘Gaay Ka Moot Pilayenge Aur Hindu Banayenge’. The word ‘f***ing’ was muted and in the dialogue ‘Maa ko Allah se upar darja diya dai’, ‘Allah’ was muted.

Earlier this week, in a shocking turn of events, a security personnel at Chandigarh airport slapped Kangana Ranaut and the news has been going viral since then. She added, “If you are aligned with the criminals strong emotional impulse to commit a crime violating all laws of the land. Remember if you are ok with breaking in to someone’s intimate zone, without their permission touching their bodies and assaulting them then deep down you are ok with rape or murder also because that’s also just penetration or stab only what big deal, you must look deeper in to your psychological criminal tendencies, I suggest please take up yoga and meditation or else life will become a bitter and burdensome experience, don’t carry so much grudge, hate and jealousy please , free yourself”.

Amid these claims, a video was reportedly found where the actress turned politician allegedly refused to pass her mobile through security check which seems to have left the security guards miffed. Furthermore, it is also being said that the video featured Kangana pushing the officer but there is no evidence of the actress being slapped. Meanwhile, post the incident, Kangana had taken to social media to share the details of how she was slapped by the female officer.

Less than a week remains for the release of Maharaj, which marks the debut of Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid. However, the film seems to have angered Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). Bollywood Hungama has learned that the organization’s youth wing, Bajrang Dal, has sent letters to its producers, Yash Raj Films, and the streaming giant, Netflix, to request a screening of the film before its global premiere on June 14.

A letter dated June 3 was personally delivered to Netflix and YRF by Gautam Ravriya, coordinator, Konkan region of VHP-Bajrang Dal. It states that the film’s poster gives a feeling that a Hindu religious leader is being shown in a negative light. Hence, the author of the letter believes that the film might hurt the sentiments of a section of the audience and also that it might lead to a law and order situation.

Towards the end of the letter, Gautam Ravriya insisted that the VHP be shown the film, after which they’ll decide the future course of action.

Gautam Ravriya on his Instagram handle has also uploaded videos of him delivering the letter to an official of Netflix outside the OTT platform’s office in Mumbai in the presence of his supporters and police officers. In the clip, he tells the Netflix official that if they find anything objectionable in Maharaj, VHP-Bajrang Dal will not let it be released anywhere. Another video shows Gautam Ravriya and his supporters outside YRF Studios, Mumbai.

Set in 1862, Maharaj is based on the Maharaj Libel Case fought between a prominent religious figure and Karsandas Mulji, a journalist and social reformer, in the Supreme Court of Bombay. According to the press statement released by the makers, it was one of the most significant legal battles of all time. Besides Junaid Khan, Maharaj also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Shalini Pandey with Sharvari in a cameo. It is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra of Hichki (2018) fame.

Kartik Aaryan has achieved stardom in the Hindi film industry, over the past 15 years. As his popularity surged, he became the face of several major brands. However, Kartik has been vocal about his ethical stance on endorsements. In a recent interview with The Lallantop, he candidly discussed his discomfort with promoting fairness creams and pan-masala products. Kartik revealed that he turned down such endorsements, including ‘supari,’ because he believed endorsing them was morally wrong. This decision underscores his commitment to responsible advertising and his desire to set a positive example for his audience.

Kartik remembers not renewing his contract with a fairness brand after a brief endorsement. He explained, “I ran an ad for a face cream a long time ago, but I discontinued it. Kartik will appear in Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion. In the sports biography, he plays former Indian paralympic gold winner Murlikant Petkar. The actor went through bodily transformations to play an athlete in the epic drama. Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Vijay Raaz, Aniruddh Dave, Palak Lalwani, and other actors play important roles in the film. The Chandu Champion film was shot in London, Wai, and Jammu & Kashmir. The film will be released on June 14 and is co-produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir, with production firms Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Kabir Khan Films.

Kartik will next appear in Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The film also stars Tripti Dimri and Vidya Balan in significant roles. The horror-comedy is scheduled for release on October 31, 2024.
