Yesterday, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report that multiplexes will sell tickets for Rs. 99 on April 19 as part of the Cinema Lovers Day celebrations. The news led to jubilation among the moviegoers. The multiplex chains even came up with creatives while the makers of Do Aur Do Pyaar also published an ad, promoting the offer. But in a shocking turn of events, the multiplexes have decided to withdraw the offer.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “It is being said that the Cinema Lovers Day is cancelled since it coincides with phase 1 of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. There’s a fear that moviegoers might opt to go to the cinema halls and skip voting.”

Another exhibition source said, “Some theatres were not in favour of celebrating Cinema Lovers Day on April 19 as they’ll be shut for half a day due to the elections as per the local laws and regulations. Hence, moviegoers won’t be able to take advantage of it fully. As a result, a decision was taken to withdraw it and it’ll be held later keeping the elections in mind.”

A manager in a multiplex rued, “We just got the notification and were left shocked. We have updated our system and tickets will be sold at normal Friday rates. Thankfully, very few tickets were sold at Rs. 99 tomorrow.” He also added, “Those who have already bought the tickets for Rs. 99 can watch the film at the discounted price without paying extra.”

On April 19, 102 constituencies will go to polls. Some of the important districts where voters will get their fingers inked tomorrow are Gaya (Bihar), Bastar (Chhattisgarh), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Inner and Outer Manipur, Puducherry, Jaipur (Rajasthan), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Pilibhit (Uttar Pradesh), etc.

The new releases tomorrow like Dibakar Banerjee’s bold thriller Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, Vidya Balan-Pratik Gandhi-Ileana D’Cruz-Sendhil Ramamurthy starrer romcom, Do Aur Do Pyaar, the semi-animated Luv You Shankar and the Hollywood dystopian thriller Civil War will now be played in cinemas at normal ticket rates.

As per our source, Nora is considered for a meaty role in Bhoot Police 2. The source said, “After Madgaon Express, Nora is being considered for another comedy in the form of Bhoot Police 2. Although she hasn’t come on board yet, she is a frontrunner for the role in the horror comedy.” The first film in the franchise Bhoot Police had released in 2021 and it starred Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez in pivotal roles.

But that’s not all as far as Nora’s comedy line-up is concerned. As per a recent buzz, she is also being considered for another comedy by Akshat Verma. For the unversed, he was the writer of the surprise hit Delhi Belly and the director of the Saif Ali Khan starrer Kaalakaandi.

Whether Nora Fatehi will bag these two films eventually will be found out later. But it is sure that the actress has generated an interest for her among the young filmmakers of today.

However, an AI-generated video purportedly featuring Singh endorsing a political party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has emerged. This development follows a similar incident involving Aamir Khan, where a deepfake video allegedly promoting a political entity went viral, prompting the veteran actor to refute its authenticity and involve law enforcement.

In Khan’s case, the disputed video claimed to be from his time hosting Satyameva Jayate. While Khan swiftly denounced the counterfeit video and sought legal recourse, Singh is yet to respond to the AI-generated misleading video.

After collaborating with actors like Vidya Balan and Amitabh Bachchan, filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh has now shouldered the responsibility of a massive casting coup for his next. The director is currently working with Siddharth Anand under the latter’s banner Marflix Pictures (recently produced Fighter) for his next titled King. While it was supposed to star King Khan aka Shah Rukh Khan in an extended cameo, recent reports reveal that the superstar will be essaying a full-fledged role alongside his daughter Suhana Khan.

For the unversed, Suhana Khan, who made her film debut with The Archies in 2023, will be making her theatrical debut alongside her superstar-father with this highly anticipated venture. A recent Peeping Moon article has now reported that Shah Rukh Khan, who was expected to have a special appearance of sorts in the movie, has now become the lead of this action entertainer with Suhana Khan as the parallel lead.

Speaking on how the makers arrived at this decision, a source was quoted saying, “The SRK-Suhana film has undergone multiple rewrites and polishing in the past few months. The project was earlier intended to be a mega theatrical debut vehicle for Suhana, with SRK merely playing a cameo, much like he did in Alia Bhatt’s Dear Zindagi. But the script has now been altered, turning it into a proper Shah Rukh Khan film, with Suhana playing a parallel lead alongside him.”

Apart from this, the reports also reveal that Shah Rukh Khan will not be playing the father of Suhana but will be portraying the character of her mentor. Furthermore, it is being said that the superstar’s character is going to be badass who will be saving Suhana’s character from dangerous situations she often finds herself in.

Meanwhile, talking about King, we hear that Sujoy Ghosh and Siddharth Anand will be collaborating for the pre-production from May onwards whereas the film is said to go on floors somewhere around August–September. As for the release date, the makers are looking at releasing the movie during the second half of 2025, but no date has been revealed as yet.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached immovable and movable properties worth Rs. 97.79 crore belonging to businessman Raj Kundra and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. This action is part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged Cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme. The attached assets include a residential flat in Juhu, Mumbai, registered under Kundra’s wife, Shilpa Shetty’s name, a bungalow in Pune, and equity shares held by Kundra. The ED claims these properties were purchased using proceeds from the criminal activity.

The official X, formerly Twitter, account of the Enforcement Directorate, said in a statement, “ED, Mumbai has provisionally attached immovable and movable properties worth Rs. 97.79 Crore belonging to Ripu Sudan Kundra aka Raj Kundra under the provisions of PMLA, 2002. According to the Economic Times, the money laundering case stems from the First Information Reports (FIRs) filed by the Maharashtra and Delhi Police against Variable Tech Pte Ltd, its promoters, and several agents. These FIRs allege that the company, along with the individuals named, collected a massive sum of money in Bitcoins (valued at approximately Rs. 6,600 crore in 2017) from unsuspecting investors. The lure was a fraudulent promise of high monthly returns in Bitcoins.

The ED alleged that the promoters cheated investors and concealed the illegally obtained Bitcoins in obscure online wallets. According to the agency, Kundra is a key player in this scheme.

The ED claims that Kundra received 285 Bitcoins from the mastermind, Amit Bhardwaj, in exchange for setting up a Bitcoin mining farm in Ukraine. However, the agency alleges that Kundra never established the farm and instead continues to hold onto the Bitcoins, currently valued at over Rs. 150 crores.

While the Juhu flat is registered under Shilpa Shetty’s name, it’s unclear whether she was aware of the alleged source of funds used for its purchase.

In an official statement from Prashant Patil, advocate of Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, it read, “We shall follow the due process of law and take necessary steps as prescribed under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act to protect the liberty and property of my clients.”

we have complete faith in the Honourable Judiciary. The risqué film Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 is all set to release this Friday, April 19. For a few weeks, there have been talks that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has asked for numerous cuts in the film. At the trailer launch last week, director Dibakar Banerjee did hint at some of these modifications. Bollywood Hungama in this special report will bring to you the cut list of Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2.

To begin with, the duration of the disclaimer in the beginning was extended by 10 seconds. A 20-second-long disclaimer, mentioning legal safeguards for transgender from sexual offences, was inserted, as per the instructions of the CBFC’s Examining Committee.

Then, the obscene words were muted wherever they occurred, including in the song lyrics as well. In the second half of the film, the words ‘Beti Bachao’ were muted. Finally, the image of the National Flag was asked to be blurred.

After all these changes were made, the CBFC passed Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 with an ‘A’ certificate. The length of the film, as mentioned on the certificate, is 116 minutes. In other words, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 is 1 hour and 56 minutes long.

At the trailer launch of Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, Dibakar Banerjee revealed, “Very surprisingly, the censor experience for Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 was absolutely smooth. We had applied for an adults-only certificate. They only asked us to mute ‘ma behen ki gaalis’. I asked them, ‘Kya main baap ki gaali de sakta hoon?’. They said, ‘Aap maa, baap aur behen teeno ko gaali se alag rakhein’!”

He continued, “So, we have a particular set of expletives in the film (that were retained) and another set of expletives were muted.” Dibakar Banerjee then said, “Also, there’s a lot of frontal nudity in the climax of the film. We had to blur the visuals as we can’t shoot frontal nudity in Indian films.”

Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 stars Swastika Mukherjee, Abhinav Singh, Bonita Rajpurohit and Paritosh Tiwari in lead roles. Mouni Roy, Tusshar Kapoor, Anu Malik, Sophie Choudry and Uorfi Javed appear in cameos.
