The super-success of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan led to jubilation in the industry and trade. It also heightened the buzz for Jawan, SRK’s next release. It is scheduled to release on June 2 and there were expectations that the film’s promotional campaign would begin in the first week of May. Bollywood Hungama even reported about it last week.

However, since then, significant developments have taken place. And it’s now being said that Jawan might not be able to make it on the said date. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The fact that the teaser or trailer of Jawan isn’t out yet and that there has been no intimation from Red Chillies Entertainment as to when the promotions will start have added to the speculation that Jawan is getting postponed.”

Reports are also floating around that Jawan will now release on Thursday, June 29. The source continued, “If it releases on the 29th, it can have a four-day weekend and also get the advantage of the Bakri Eid holiday on its release day. Moreover, Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Yodha and Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Dream Girl 2 were slated to arrive in cinemas on July 7. Both got pushed last week. Many believed that these movies were postponed as they don’t want to get in the way of the Jawan wave.”

Interestingly, Satyaprem Ki Katha, starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, is scheduled to release in cinemas on June 29. As of now, there has been no confirmation whether this Nadiadwala Grandson production is moving from this date.

An industry insider lamented, “A lot of speculation and confusion are going around in the trade and industry over this aspect. I hope Shah Rukh Khan or Red Chillies Entertainment make some announcement ASAP as to whether Jawan is releasing on June 2 or being postponed.”

Directed by Atlee, Jawan also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Sanya Malhotra along with Deepika Padukone in a special appearance.

Shailesh Lodha and Asit Kumar Modi, two prominent members of the cast and crew of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), have made headlines ever since the former quit the show. In a recent development, it was reported that he sued the production house over alleged non-payment of dues and breach of contract. Though the makers remained tight-lipped earlier, Asit Kumar Modi has decided to break his silence over the matter. 

In an interaction with ETime, Modi explained that a couple of months ago, he received a notice about unpaid dues, but couldn’t understand the reason because he “hadn’t refused” to clear them. As a producer, his company had been reminding Shailesh to clear his dues, but the actor was unresponsive and did not fulfil the necessary formalities. The portal quoted the producer saying, “He wanted to take up work outside and participate in kavi sammelans, but Taarak Mehta is a daily soap with an ensemble cast, and it was not possible to accommodate his request. We had a minor tiff over it in April last year, after which he never returned to shoot.” 

Giving more details of their fallout, Asit added that in September of last year, the makers of the show replaced Shailesh with Sachin Shroff when he did not return. As per Asit, it is not appropriate for Shailesh to use his couplets and poems to “target” him. Asit expressed his hurt over the situation, given that he and Shailesh previously shared a positive relationship.

Later, the portal reached out to Lodha to comment on Asit’s claim. However, Shailesh declined to comment on the ongoing case, citing that it is sub judice. However, he mentioned that he has been an established poet since 1981 and is confident that he can provide documented evidence to address each of Asit’s claims.

Shehnaaz Gill posted on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to show her followers the greeting cards she received from her fans around the world congratulating her on buying a new house. The screenshots showed the various messages of congratulations from her followers. A message read, “My dearest Sana Baby Congratulations on your new house, we are so proud of your accomplishment. We feel we have bought a house, that is how emotionally attached we are with you. Waheguruji bless your home and all those who enter. Praying for positive vibes in your home.” Shehnaaz shared more screenshots from the messages in the following Instagram Story and wrote, “thankyou shehnaazians i love you (red heart emoticons)”

Shehnaaz Gill has been quite successful professionally after her stint on Bigg Boss 13. She has appeared in multiple popular music videos. She also hosted her own celebrity talk show called Desi Vibes with Shehnaaz. With her strong foothold in the Punjabi film industry, Shehnaaz has expanded her work to Bollywood with the film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, directed by Farhad Samji. The film featured an ensemble cast including Salman Khan, Pooja Hegde, Palak Tiwari, Raghav Juyal Venkatesh, and Jagapathi Babu in among others. The film released on April 21.

Star Plus is all set to give audiences a love story that is unusual and never-seen-before, titled Titli.  The show features Neha Solanki, who was seen in Zee TV’s Sethji and Star Bharat’s Mayavi Maling, essaying the titular role of Titli. It will also mark the return of Avinash Mishra on Star Plus, after Yeh Rishte Hai Pyaar Ke in 2020 in which he played Kunal Rajvansh alongside Kaveri Priyam’s Kuhu, as well as Vatsal Sheth, who gained fame as Shaurya Goenka, in the popular show Ek Hasina Thi . Avinash will be essaying the character of Garv. Star dropped the first look of the show earlier this weekend and the promo has already garnered ample curiosity.

Going by the latest promo, the show promises to explore different shades of Titli, ranging from a young aspirational woman to those of being emotionally vulnerable. She is a representation of a young lady with the aspirations to meet her ideal man, marry and live happily ever after with him. But her dreams of a prince charming are simple and it is not about marrying a superstar like Shahrukh Khan but it is quite ordinary as she defines a man who can understand her dreams and let her fly, just like a butterfly. As she encounters Garv, the latter is seen trapping a butterfly in a bottle jar, making the audiences question if there is truly any happily ever after for Titli and her dreams?

Star Plus plans to move forward with a unique way of story-telling for its audience with Titli, which, is produced by Story Square Productions. While the promo gives a glimpse of Titli and Garv, it is yet to be seen what character Vatsal Seth will be playing.

Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra has been in the headlines ever since her rumoured relationship with AAP leader Raghav Chadha came to the spotlight. The actress has been spotted with the politician on several occasions. Her close friend Harrdy Sandhu, co-star in Code Name: Tiranga, had confirmed that the actress is ready to get settled. However, it has now been confirmed that the actress is getting engaged on May 13.

As per a report in Indian Express, the actress will have an intimate engagement ceremony in New Delhi. Both Parineeti and Raghav are yet to confirm their relationship.

In a recent interview amid her relationship rumours, Parineeti told Lifestyle Asia India, “There is a thin line between the media discussing my life and sometimes crossing the line by being too personal or disrespectful. If that happens, I will clarify if there are any misconceptions. If it is not necessary to clarify, I won’t.”

Speaking of her frequent travels, Parineeti added, “I would never sacrifice my life for work or work for my life. I always strive to maintain a balance between the two. I remember when I used to travel frequently and spend a lot of time at the airport, people would ask me where I was going and what I was doing, but they would never understand the fact that I was able to balance my life effectively. I think post Covid-19, a lot of people finally understood that.”

As per reports, Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha have been long-time friends as they studied together at the London School of Economics. They also follow each other on Instagram. They were first spotted together grabbing dinner. Following this, Raghav came to pick her up at the Delhi airport, adding fuel to their wedding rumours. As per several reports, they are committed and will tie the knot soon.

On March 23, Raghav Chadha was surrounded by paparazzi when he was asked about Parineeti Chopra. The politician said, “Aap mujhse raajneeti ke sawaal kariye, Parineeti ke sawaal na kariye (Please ask me questions about politics, not Parineeti).” When prodded further about their relationship, he said, “Denge jawaab (Will answer).”

On the work front, Parineeti Chopra will next star in Akshay Kumar-led Capsule Gill.

Zarina Wahab is the most relieved and thankful mother in the universe right now. Her son Sooraj was acquitted on April 28 of all charges of abetment related to the tragic death of actress Jiah Khan almost ten years ago.

“The smile is back on my son’s face. We feel like a normal family again. Otherwise for ten years we suffered all the lies in the belief that justice will finally prevail, and it did! But what about all those mothers whose sons are locked away after a failed relationship? My heart reaches out to them. No mother should suffer the way I have,” says Zarina who now wants to just enjoy the family’s freedom from the threat hovering over Sooraj’s head.

“It is not possible for a family to lead a normal life when their child is an under trial for no fault of his. What wrong did my son do that he had to be punished for ten years? We just want to be left alone now. We want to feel like a normal family after ten years,” Zarina.

A fabulous cook Zarina loves to put together meals for family and guests. She now wants to make her son’s favourite dishes. “He hasn’t eaten properly for ten years. He will now live his life again.”
